Be read many threads on here about a fill that is too tight. I had a fill two weeks ago and it is def tight. I don't know if I should have any removed. Some say leave it and it will relax after about four months, and others say have some removed. I hate to do this because it is actually the first fill I have lost with. Any suggestions?

Had a full cc removed and what a difference!

Can't wait until 10:30 tomorrow to have some of this tight fill removed. I feel so weak since nothing will stay down. I can't believe I've gone three weeks like this. I've learned from this mistake!

I've decided to have some of my fill removed this week. While it has loosen some it is still to tight after three weeks. I hate to do it , but when I donated blood today I realized I'm not getting enough nutrition. I've been on the verge of passing out ever since. All I can do is eat ice chips and half of what I've put down has come back up. I realize now it is not a good thing not being able to eat and keep it down.

My food does not go down very well. I can eat cream of wheat & soups slowly, but several times it comes back up. When I eat solid food it definitely comes back up. If I take too large of a drink it comes up. I can tell I'm pretty tight because it feels like it is stuck in my upper stomach. It feels like it takes a while to go down. Not everything is coming back up though. I can tell because my loosing has slowed down. Before surgery a girl at lapcorp. Said she hated her band. That when she ate her food would come back up and she gained all her weight back. First, if it was all coming back up she would not have gained all her weight back. Second, she mAde the comment crunchy and fried food went down better than the foods she should eat. I think she was tired of making the right choices and because she failed, she wanted me to feel like I would too. I'm still so new to this I want to do it the right way.

I got a tight fill ten days ago. The first four days were rough. I couldn't get much of anything down and trying to get it to stay down was even harder. After the swelling goes down it gets better. I still have a hard time with something's but happy to see weight coming off. However, I became dehydrated due to getting fluids to stay down. For me ice chips worked best for me and sugar free Gatorade. Concentrate on getting fluids and protein shakes down. It will be worth it in the end. Good luck. ! -
Can keep down solids but throw up liquids... Bizarre?
jammiebp replied to Katie L.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm doing the same thing. Most time it's the liquid that comes up. My band felt extremely tight when I got my fill last Friday. After about three days I felt much better. I'm having trouble keeping liquids and feeling week and dehydrated. Will it loosen up anytime soon without having to have any removed! -
I too am a part of the BBC (big butt club) . Seems like my stomach got bigger after my surgery. When they did my band I had a huge hiatal hernia. It was so large they took a pic to show me. It looked like they made a patch quilt when they repaired it. They said I was so swollen because they had to pull everything out of my chest area and put it back where it belonged. I hurt for months and didn't know why until a week before my surgery. I can tell it is going back down. For me it's been a long recovery. At first I had buyers remorse when my cousin did the sleeve three days after my banding and bounced right back. I see her dropping weight like crazy. Now that I've got a good fill and loosing again I know the band was the right choice for me.

Hang in there. I had my band Sept 30th and lost 28lbs the first 6 weeks and 16 of that was in the first week! I had my first fill Nov 6th and was given 4cc. For two weeks I felt lime a complete failure. I had more restriction the first three weeks after surgery from the swelling. I called them in tears and said there was no reason to feel this way and they would do fills as often as needed to find my green spot. I have been every week since they would last about four days and it was like is never had lapband. This past Friday they put 9.4 cc in and I asked to go ahead and put 10cc in. I will say it is TIGHT, but it's working! If I take too big of a drink it comes back up or if I drink too soon it will. I'm drinking lots of protein shakes at the moment. I do not want to have any removed as I I can tell swelling is going down and I'm no longer uncomfortable. Im hoping I'll be a lucky one and it will last a couple months. Don't give up!! Some of us require larger fills and that's okay. Only we know what works with our body. It amazes me how 5 grapes fill me up now. I LOVE my band and you will too!!!

My Dr not require me to do pre-op diet. He said that you don't lose enough to really make a difference, plus its to help reduce a fatty liver. -
