Ex Lax, Miralax, Beneful, Metamucil, Senesomething, Activia, or what?
MistyfortheMountain replied to Yasman's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I don't know if anyone mentioned it, I didn't read all the comments, but I really like Smooth Move tea. It works great for me. I drink a cup at bed time and usually go in the morning. I buy it at the local grocery store in the herbal tea section. I spoke to my doctor about it and she said you can use it every day or two without causing any harm. -
no restriction all of a sudden....!
MistyfortheMountain replied to mummakeyz's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had mine done last December. I find it to be moody. Some days I feel like I have no restriction at all. Then others I have trouble eating soup. You may wake up tomorrow and your restriction will be back. -

The very best revenge for something like that is success. Just smile and think about how great it's going to be to walk in to work everyday at your goal weight and she will still be struggling. Be sure to smile and be super nice to her the whole time! -

Pre-Op Diet Nausea
MistyfortheMountain replied to BandedBrunette481's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would just buy some pre made shakes. When I went to my pre op appointment at my surgeons office the lady doing my paperwork told me I needed to buy their Protein powder for shakes. I said no thank you I have found one I like. She said he really wants you to drink this one because it is high protein and low calories. Expecting this, I pulled one of mine out of my purse and the numbers were actually better on the pre made shakes that I had purchased. They are Premier Protein. 160 calories and 30g protein. But look around and find one that you like and has comparable numbers. I think they just want to be sure you are not drinking shakes that are 350 calories, and some of them are. -
I buy Boars Head lunch meat and have it sliced a little on the thick side. If I am really hungry I just grab a slice and roll it up....very low calories as long as I stick to ham, turkey, chicken and roast beef and stay away from things like salami.

Two Months so far, is this normal?
MistyfortheMountain replied to ahanna2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You said you are eating mostly salads. Have you added up the calories of all the ingredients individually and measured them out. Salads can be deceptive! They can really hide a lot of calories that you don't realize you are eating. Just a thought. -

The first day was the hardest for me. Hang in there! It's worth it! -
If you feel the flame is out, aren't you just wasting your time anyway? As long as you have Mr. Wrong in your house, Mr. Right will not step through the door. Just my opinion.

Save me from my pity party!
MistyfortheMountain replied to bluegirly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I work with developmentally delayed 3 to 5 year olds. One of the biggest jobs we have is to get them potty trained. So I deal with this on a regular basis. Food is always a great incentive for kids, no doubt. But we also have to be careful of getting them over sugared and also of them figuring out how to work the system. We have had children that will tinkle 2 drops at a time every 15 minutes to get the rewards. So here is what works for us. We have a self inking star stamp that stays in the bathroom. when you go in and are successful, you get a stamp on your arm. Sometimes as kids are figuring all this out at the end of the day they will have 10 or 12 stamps at the end of the 7 hour school day. Way too many to reward with sugar. So we do the stamps throughout the day then at the end of the day because you have done such a great job all day, you get this special reward. Depends on the child as to what it is. Candy, stickers, big green smiley stamp where ever they want it. They get such a kick out of picking where to get the big green stamp. And we really will put it on your forehead if that's where you want it! Just throwing this our there maybe you can use some of it. Good luck with your little one. This is the best age!! -
Thursday is the day and my grandma is trying to talk me out of it!
MistyfortheMountain replied to Wendydarling19's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be honest with her. Look her in the eye and tell her I know you are scared for me because you love me. I need to do this for me and I really need your support. Stress will only make things harder for me and I truly believe it would help me to know that you will do what you can to help me. Can I count on you? How could she say no. -
chest pressure
MistyfortheMountain replied to bamagurl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get muscle spasms in my back that present as chest pressure and even chest pain. Are you drinking enough fluids? Standing a lot? Try a heating pad on your back. Couldn't hurt. Definitely talk to the doctor about it. -

Sparkpeople.com They have a section called sparkrecipes.com. I keep all of my recipes there, both healthy and non healthy. They never get messed up and i can access them from anywhere. Lots of other functions to the website also like tracking daily nutrition and exercise. I have heard other people on here talk about another similar website but i have used this one for years and love it.
