Proud of myself!
MistyfortheMountain replied to MistyfortheMountain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the support. Most people in my world don't know I'm having surgery. The people I work directly with I told I was doing a doctor supervised diet since I started bringing Protein shakes for lunch. So there was no one except my husband that I could brag to about not eating and he really has no clue what it's like to diet. Yes my pre op is clear liquid only. Three Protein Shakes and only clear liquid daily. I'm not even allowed the sf Jello or popsicles. This goes for 2 weeks. This is my 4th day and I haven't cheated yet. I'm holding out for Christmas day. My surgery is the 27th so I'm planning on doing my cheating on Christmas Day with a little turkey and green bean casserole. I'm thinking by then even a few bites will be like heaven! -
Pre-op diet starts tomorrow
MistyfortheMountain replied to LI Lady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started my pre op diet today also. It's not nearly as lenient as your though. I can have protein shakes and clear liquids. That's it. No cream in my coffee even and no sf jello or popsicles. Have had a killer headache all day. Hope it gets easier from here. -
I definately knw the feeling...But this is a great way to go into the new year! What state are u in? Do you think liquids through Xmas will be hard for u? I'm in Florida. The only Christmas food I really think will bother me is the actual Christmas dinner. Other than that, a 2 week liquid diet is what scares the heck out of me!

Surgery Scheduled For 12/26 In Pittsburgh....anyone Else Scheduled In December?
MistyfortheMountain replied to KSteele's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery date is the 27th and I start a 2 week liquid diet on the 12th. I'm thinking if I'm really good the whole time I can have a little Christmas dinner. I guess I can double check with my surgeon when I go in on the 9th. -
Welcome Thick2slim! Glad you found us, LOL. I am scheduled for the 27th of Dec. right after Christmas. I have also wondered how much I will lose and how quickly. It seems that there are all kinds of results depending on the amount of effort you put in. I plan to make the best of it. I've tried so many other diets and I am ready to get rid of this weight once and for all.

Wow! Your only 1 day ahead of me! When is your surgery scheduled for? I'm excited to get started but had to wait and have it done during the Christmas holiday from school. -

Tentative Date Set
MistyfortheMountain replied to MistyfortheMountain's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Got my insurance approval today!!! Sooo excited!! Go to see my surgeon and get all my dietary instructions on Dec 9th, start my pre op diet on the 12th, then surgery on December 27th! Merry Christmas to me!!! -
Wow! That's great! Sounds much easier than all liquid. My understanding is the liquid diet is to shrink fat around the liver. Strangely enough I was just diagnosed last week with a fatty liver, so I'm sure the 2 week liquid diet is in my future.

How exciting! My date is 12/27 but still waiting on the go ahead from the insurance company. Fingers crossed! -
I believe my doctor does a two week liquid diet. That is actually the thing I am most nervous about. They said once they get the final approval from my insurance, I will have to come in for all my dietary instructions.
-
How exciting! Do you have your insurance approval? I hope to get mine this week.
-
Wow! Can't believe they are starting the diet before a date. December 2 would be wonderful! I am penciled in for Dec 27th pending insurance approval. I hope to hear something this week. Is your diet all liquids or can you have some solid food as well?

Yes a two week liquid pre op diet. I thought of that also. It takes me through Christmas. I'm thinking if I'm really, really good, maybe I can have a little Christmas dinner. -

Banded 11/4- Major Complications :(
MistyfortheMountain replied to skinnysomeday1211's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow! So glad you are feeling better! I know it's not much compared to your health, but I can't help but wonder about the money. Since it sounds like the fault of your doctor are you going to have to pay for both surgeries and all the cost that come with them? -

How to get a new PCP to sign off on lapband?
MistyfortheMountain replied to Wendydarling19's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My insurance requires that I provide documentation of attempted weight loss in the past. I had seen a doctor and he prescribed weight loss pills 5 years ago. When I went to get those records they told me that if you are not an active patient after 5 years, they destroy your records. -
I'm approved!!!!

I know how you feel. I go to the nutritionist and psychologist on Nov 13th and then they will submit to my insurance company. The doctor said it usually takes a week or so to hear from them. I am a nervous wreck already! -
