1000 calories that's good, at least you don't have to do the protein shakes that everybody seems to find disgusting. But be careful on the smart ones and the Lean Cuisines just watched the sodium intake because the sodium can be kind of high on those meals.
I'm doing my voluntary liquids and proteins today just to see how well I get through a day. I started off with tea from Tim Hortons with equal in it and I had an Atkins strawberry shake which has 15 grams of protein and only one each of carbs and sugar and 160 calories. I'm also going to try the ensure high protein shake that has 25 grams of protein, so hopefully I can still tolerate the taste after the surgery . I hear a lot of people saying that their taste buds go a little haywire after surgery.
hey happy girl my Dr had me on the South Beach Diet for the last 3 months, so when I met with him a few weeks ago I asked him about this liquid protein pre op diet that I've been reading about, he told me to just go back to phase one of the South Beach Diet which is basically just eating meat and certain vegetables but I do have my pre-op training visit on March 27th so I'm sure when I go there they will probably put me on the liquid diet then however I am like you I am choosing to start today doing liquid and protein shakes just to get used to it.
Hi, I will be sleeved April 8 -2014, saw my son was a container of muscle milk the other day and i looked at the ingredients which has quite a bit of protein in it . has anyone tried this I can't really remember what the sugar count was but if this is not too high in sugar does anyone know if we can try this. you guys are scaring me with all the talk of the disgusting taste of protein drinks. Lol
South beach has been around for a while. The first two weeks, no fruit, bread, pasta, rice, bakery, etc., basically just meat and certain veggies. You can find it on the web
HI Dairy fairy congratulations on your date. As far as my pre-op diet, my doctor just told me to go back to phase 1of the South Beach Diet two weeks before my surgery. but I do have my pre-op training class on March 27 so I'm thinking maybe they will start me on this liquid diet that I am hearing so much about. What type of pre op do you have to do
Hi my surgery isn't scheduled until April 8th 2014 but I have been worried about what to eat when I get to the pureed point. The only thing I could think of was tuna fish and maybe eggs ground up very small with the consistency of maybe deviled eggs. I also thought about ground chicken breast and I have been in the grocery store looking for sandwich spread but I haven't been able to find it. I was thinking the sandwich spread would make the ground or pureed chicken taste a little better than just the light mayo. would appreciate any ideas anyone comes up with 4 puree foods but like most of you maybe just chewing it to paste like consistency will work. Lol...
