Follow A Sleever From Night Before Surgery All They Way Through Recovery
LuminousLife replied to LuminousLife's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Today has been pretty decent. Pain at the suture sites as well as when I drink. I've switched to measuring my swallows. I found that a measly 3ml I can handle and I don't get pain. So as of right now all I can get down in a day is 1 bottle of H20 and a 10oz protein shake. I am down 13lbs in 6 days! -
I called the doctor and informed the nurse of what was happening. She called the doc and called me back and said "pain is to be expected, call if it gets worse". Holy heck if it gets worse I'd pass out. Oh well, I will have to try to endure it and go to the er if its gets to bad. Thanks for the feedback

Another Newb Question - Taking A Bath
LuminousLife posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good Morning Fellow Fat Fighters. Today I am 6 days post op and my question is....(drum roll for stupid question please).....can I take a bath yet instead of a shower. I think it would be easier to shave my legs if I was sitting. Bending is tough and I'm missing spots. My legs look like a 15 year old boys patchy first shave. My wounds were stitched internally and then sealed with surgical glue. -
If it makes you feel better you are doing better than me. Im day 5. It takes me all day to get in 16 oz :/

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
LuminousLife replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Not a clue. I was told to expect it in every support group and doctors appointment. Sounded strange and I didn't believe it would happen to me until the soup. -
I think you guys are right. I will give him a call in the morning. I hope I didn't wait too long.

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Be careful ordering too much before surgery. Or at least check to see what their return policy is. You taste does change. In fact I asked my Auntie to make me broth from my favorite soup, an old family recipe that I LOVE. I put 1 tiny spoonful in my mouth and spit it right out. I couldn't even stomach it. You just reminded me I have some Nectar. I haven't tried it yet. I met a fellow sleever who didn't like it post op and passed it along to me. Its the lemonade one. -

I can't even reach 200 calories but I'm only 5 days out. That's normal right? -
5 Days Post Op!
LuminousLife replied to Phillyphan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5 days post op as well. I am down 10lbs as of this morning! Guess that makes the pain feel a little better I am managing 1 muscle milk and 3/4 of a bottle of water. I did receive some sound advice though. Water is life. While protein is important in the long run, you can run into serious problems if you do not get enough water. So today I started with water instead of my shake and I will have my shake at the end of the day or once I reach 48oz of water. I feel Like its motivating me to reach my quota. I like my shakes, pudding, cream of wheat ect so its a treat for a job well done. -

Great day today! Gas pains gone. Had more energy. Still not getting all my fluids or protein in but I'm doing my best. Down 6lbs as of yesterday. -
It gets better everyday Jakecal. I had a really hard time in the hospital and at home. Today is day 4 and the light is slowly coming through the clouds. Gas pain is gone (thank god!) But I have more mountains to climb but I will say today is just a little bit better than yesterday. It will get better xoxo

December 2013 Sleevers This Is Our Month Are Yall Ready!?
LuminousLife replied to sleevinIT's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm alive! I woke up in a lot of pain begging for it to stop. Turns out I metabolize pain meds very quickly. They had difficulty keeping me sedated during the procedure. So for me the first 3 days were very painful since pain meds don't offer me relief. Today is better, gas pains are all but gone. I am just having a hard time getting my H2O in. Its 4:30 pm and I'm still working on my Protein shake from this morning. Its painful to swallow even tiny sips still. One the sunny side I've lost 6lbs already thanks you for your support guys! You are an awesome group of people! -
Who Else Is Not Losing?
LuminousLife replied to luvzpitbullz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try changing up your food and exercise routine. Maybe your body just needs a jolt to get out of the stall. Or you could go back to phase 1 for a few days. Good luck! -
December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
LuminousLife replied to AtlantaRed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
3 days post op. Having trouble determining when I am full. I feel hunger (not head hunger, its def my tummy hunger). I get pain with any swallow of anything except cream of wheat. Gas pain has been lessening. Anyone have some thoughts on feeling full? I have no idea how much I should be consuming in a day. Last instructions were 4 - 30 ml cups an hour. -

Post Op Day 2
LuminousLife replied to onedaycloser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In addition to liquids (which still gives me pain) I have a few tablespoons of cream of wheat. I drizzle a little agave syrup on top. Its so soothing and stops my tummy for grumbling. -
How is this for easy. Smooth Greek toasted coconut yogurt (1/3 container) with dollop of dark chocolate pudding. Satisfies my dessert craving and adds some protein to my diet
-
Not sure what phase you are on but you could bash em up and incorporate them into a homemade granola and sprinkle over yogurt. Or maybe incorporate them into rice crispie like bar or into a no Pudge browine mix.

Day 3....I slept OK on the sofa. Body is still really soar. Gas pain is getting better. Tried my first sip of my Protein shake, aside from the sharp pain I always get I quite enjoyed it. Going to ask hubby to whip up some cream of wheat when he wakes up . -

Sorry you are not well Yoly I'm only 3 days out so don't have any good advice. Just to talk to your doc about it. At the very least he/she should be able to give you something for the nausea. Hang in there xx -

At home gas pains are still in effect but better than yesterday. Looking forward to cream of wheat in the morning. I hope my tiny tummy approves. I'm sick of the empty watery grumble feeling. I just keep telling myself this is a phase and the pain will pass.
