How do you take your crushed meds without gagging
LuminousLife replied to itsnevertoolate's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I squish my pills between 2 spoons. Next I take a tiny bit of my protein shake and pour it into the spoons with the crushed pills. I swallow it back and chase it with a swig of the shake. I tried adding it to stuff before too, I think it just gives you more bitter stuff to get down. -
Tonight is my first meal. I made 1/2 egg with a 1/8 slice of cheese. It took me a half of an hour to take 2 tiny bites (with a baby fork), chew it to mush and swallow. Now I feel queasy. Is that what full feels like? My paperwork says a portion should be around 1/4 of a cup. I managed less than a tablespoon. Anyone else experience this?

Creamy Stage Day 1
LuminousLife replied to onedaycloser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
None of what you listed is approved on my stage 3 list. That's why I ate 2 tablespoons of a baked potato. It its not for the sake of eating something. My NUT recommended it because Its mild and I needed something more than liquid so I could have a normal bm. How dare you cast judgement. Think before you type. -

Am I full? Help!
LuminousLife replied to LuminousLife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today is 2 weeks. I met with my Nut and she gave me the all clear. We discussed the egg and cheese and she said that was good. This is the 1st time I've ever had nausea. -

Well that's it folks. 2 weeks. I feel great, 19lbs down. I'm onto stage 3 as of today and will post a weekly check in. So excited to eat an egg tonight! Best of luck to everyone. Feel free to ask any questions, I will do my best to answer them. -
My surgeon (who has a horrible bedside manner but amazing skills) said I had to wait 3 months and that I should not have sex with my husband for those 3 months plus a month additional while I wait for the birth control to kick in. That sounds insane to me.

Day 13: I had another great day. No pain, no trouble with my fluids. I feel normal again! I catch myself forgetting I had it done. Tomorrow I should get the approval to move to phase 3. I am so excited to eat eggs and cottage cheese!!!! I decided to follow a Paleo way if eating for health reasons along with weight loss since I am able to get in enough protein without shakes. My husband also wants to try it. So good things all around. No regrets. -

Day 12: First day pain free! No incision pain or anything! I can bend, and even applied a little pressure that normally painful site and it didn't hurt at all! I feel great. No trouble with fluids. I feel normal again lol. Still no movement in the scale since day 7. Side note Glue on top incision is gone today. Healed nicely. -

I think 3 weeks is just right! I tried to treat my time off like a vacation. I had my nails done, bought mini spa shampoo, and a new pair of PJ's. My husband thought I was nuts but hey, I say make the most out of it. The procedure itself was the easy part. I'd ask your doc form something for your anxiety the night before if you get real anxious. No reason for you to suffer. Sending my prayers your way! xx -
