  1. I had my second fill right before Thanksgiving, and from then until now, I have not lost any weight. I go for my next fill on January 3rd. I had my surgery on Sept 19th, and I have lost about 35 pounds so far. Just discouraged I haven't lost anything since my last fill.

    Any other September 2013 bandsters?

Hi everyone! I was banded on 9/19/2013, and just went for my first fill the other day. I am still getting in the swing of things, but so glad to be done with the liquid and mushy phase. If anyone uses my fitness pal, be sure to add me....jenwbbr97.
  5. I am 4 weeks out, and just started solid food. Yay for no more mushies!! I am looking for breakfast ideas as I am getting tired of scrambled eggs. Here's the kicker though....I am only allowed proteins. My doctor has a strict schedule to follow, and no veggies or carbs yet, and no dairy. What are some other things that you eat for breakfast??

    Help with Soft Food Stage

I've enjoyed egg salad, tuna salad, meatloaf, meatballs made with turkey and Italian sausage, I would eat taco meat (no shell) with some taco cheese on top, sloppy joe meat. I am not allowed to have carbs either, but have managed to do just fine with these options. I've also had hard boiled eggs, and I have enjoyed 2 bowls of chil as well. I am finally able to start regular food today.

    Baffled!

I was in the same situation as you. I was banded on Sept 19th. I lost 10 pounds in the the first 2 weeks, but in the last 2 weeks, I have managed to gain 3 pounds. I have followed the diet, and I am eating very healthy. I go for my first fill tomorrow. I was freaking out about the 3 pound weight gain that I actually called the nurse. She did tell me that it was normal at this time frame. In the frist 2 weeks your not hungry due to the trauma to your stomach, but then your hunger starts to kick in. I don't snack between meals, and my calorie intake is low. She reassured me that once I started getting fills, the weight will come off. As for working out, my doctor said I was free to work out. I was told 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training. I could not lift anything more than 20 pounds, and no abdominal excersizes for the first 4 weeks. The elliptical would have been fine for me to do. Every doctor is different. I'm sure you are doing everything right. The weight will start to come off. Do you use myfitnesspal? Would love to be friends if you do.

    weight gain

So I shouldn't be freaking out?? I've been trying to figure out what I've been doing wrong. I don't snack between meals, I only eat 4 ounces at a meal. I'm on a soft diet still until next week. Missy, I see you have done extremely well. What tips can you share?
  11. I am 3 weeks post op and was doing pretty good. In the past week, however, I have gained 4 pounds. I go next Friday to get my first fill. I am rather confused and frustrated. Not sure what I am doing wrong. thoughts??

    One week post op

I am 3 weeks post op, and I was in your shoes as well! I broke down and bawled to my husband at about the same time as you. At 1 week post op is when I got my staples out. Once I got them out, I started to feel better. I was still slow moving and uncomfortable. At 3 weeks post op though, I feel great! The pain is gone, and I move like I never had the surgery. The worst for me was the shoulder pain from the gas, but that is also gone. For the first 2 weeks, I did tend to take a nap after my kids went to school, but I am past that now. These symptoms will pass for you, and you will begin to feel great, I promise! You are not alone in this journey. You are on your way to a positive, healthier life. You've got this!
  13. I had my surgery on 9/19 as well, and go next Friday 10/18 for my first fill. I've lost 10 pounds since my surgery, but nothing in the past week. I keep getting frustrated. I am doing everything right as far as I can see, as I am sure you are as well. Do you use my fitness pal? I am finding that it is very helpful. If you use it or decide to use it, would love to be your friend. We are all on this new journey together. You got this! You are doing a good job. Things will get easier!
