i been feeling so good since my surgery on 9/25...but i have to admit ...liquids are not enough anymore, I AM HUNGRY TOO, i have two more days... On wednesday is the end of my liquid diet, so I am going to have the most wonderful 4 ounces of breakfast I deserve for being so good, without cheating after being cooking for my family all this days, sorry I needed to vent. What to drink..

2 1/2 weeks post-op and I enjoy very much Celestial Seasoning sleepy time tea, as well as propel, my nutritionist gave me book with everything i can drink and a sample menu, i have to drink every hour so i am never hungry...i am doing pretty well, 14 lbs so far.. I will start solids next week , the book also include a sample menu, very handy and informative.
  8. Mostly don't feel anything of what you guys are experiencing. I am mostly satisfy with my liquid diet, another week and a day to go, then solids, I didn't have almost any pain after surgery and I don't have cravings or need to eat anything that is not in my diet. Family came over last weekend and I ordered a feast for them (white rice, beans, fried chicken, pork cracking, french fries, yellow rice) and believe me I used to love that food and I used to enjoy being part of the feast, but it didn't bother me a bit while they were eating in front of me, I was happily enjoying my Lima beans soup I made. I am patiently waiting for next week to do some of the recipes I had found here, since as per my nutritionist I have to be in a high protein diet. I've been exercising too, walking 15 minutes (before surgery I was only able to walk for 3 minutes before start experiencing short of breath) and doing some weights for my arms. I was wondering is there anyone like me, no problems, complications or killing cravings post-op?

    Am I weird?

Well, the Lima bean Soup is my own recipe, here we go: 8oz of frozenLima Bean One small Roma tomatoes 8 small baby carrots One chopped onion One Knorr reduce sodium homestyle chicken stock One chopped stick of celery Salt to your taste. One tbsp of Olive oil I sautéed the Lima beam in the olive oil, then added the onions, small carrots and tomatoes, keep adding all the ingredients and 2 cups of Water. Let it boil for 20 minutes, add water or salt to your taste, then when to the food processor and since I am in a liquid diet I put it thru the colander. It end up creamy and delicious, no need of flour or any other thickening ingredient. I dont know how much calories is but I only had 4 oz per serving and it was very full-filling. I hope you can try it, and that you like it.
  10. Went to see my surgeon today, everything was ok, I have another week of liquid diet and then to solids, no smuchies for me ...from liquid to solid as per his own words. So the schedule for my fill is November right after my Birthday...so excited, I will be able to enjoy my night out with my sister and girlfriends in Atlantic City, NJ! It seems all the healing meditation worked... Keep positive, fill your life with love, harmony and peace!

    Post-op constipation

I had the same problem and the feeling was very uncomfortable since I used to go to the bathroom any time I wanted before the surgery 11 days ago, so, the nurses call me from the hospital to see how I was doing and I explained to her that I was constipated, she told me to take Miralax and voila next morning I was able to do it, but it was painful. Now I go one or twice every other day. I am still in liquid diet, i see the doctor on Tuesday, praying to be moved to next stage. So keep the Miralax around. Good luck!

    Ugh post-op emotions!

When you feel like that, I do meditations, it helps me. I am very positive person, and believe me I had my challenging moments but when that happens i get on my bed get my ear buds and do guided meditations inyoutube, i usually do a relaxion one and the a healing on, the peace and calm comes back. I hope you feel better soon, sorry about your granpa! One week and 2 days banded!
  15. Feeling great ... Did not have barely any pain medication, only tylenol the second day I stop them, narcotics slow down the healing process. My 4 incisions are healing and are already itching, a lot of gasses, but I guess it's normal. I will call the nutritionist tomorrow, since I am tired of clear liquids. Chicken broth is my worst enemy, I've been on Dominican chicken soup since yesterday, it is a lot of thicker than the regular one. I feel more energy, did 20 minutes walk yesterday and today and being moving my arms up and down with a one pound weight ...i had lost 8 pounds. I do a lot of meditation...if you don't know how, you can always use the self guided healing meditations in youtube. Being positive to my new lifestyle is imperative, I have a 10 year old girl to rise and a supportive husband to grow old to. Be positive, I know the will be days where there will be challenges, just think positive, create goals about what you expect in your future, that dress to you will wear after 11 years, the celebration of your birthday with your girlfriends in Atlantic City, the good you are going to feel and look next summer... There are so many things to look after when the challenges arise. Peace, harmony, prosperity and love for all of you!
  16. I been having some grapes too, but right after a drink, since takes the bad taste out of my mouth, i am very careful not to swallow the skins...i feel really good, i got banded a week ago and I don't know when I am going to se my doctor!
