  1. Just to say upfront: We DO NOT have any intention on trying until I am at least 1 year post op... I've read that the chances of multiples go up post op...how long is this the case, and how frequently? I've struggled with PCOS ever since I was 12, so I worry that I'll be the ONE woman who will still be infertile post op...

    Statistic of multiples post op?

I'm just waiting for my doctor to release me to TTC--He said he will probably release me in January (right after hitting the 18 month mark). I'm still curious about the statistics behind having multiples post-op...does anyone have any info for me? I don't really mind either way, I just need to know if I should mentally prepare my husband for the possibility, and I am wondering if the statistics are about the same for people without the surgery and ourselves, or do we have a higher chance of a multiples pregnancy.

    Home Birth After RNY

Bumping and following. I should be released by my surgeon in January to TTC, and we want to do a home birth or a birthing center also.

I'm doing pretty well! I admit some days the thought of food is gross, but I think that's part of the learning curve. I find that there are days all I want to eat is cheese, or yogurt, or something along that sorts. I am now almost 2 months out, and down 55 pounds. One thing I want to be upfront with you though: at first it hurt. You're body is recovering from major surgery. However, it definitely does get better and easier <3.

JUNE 2014 POST OP SUPPORT GROUP!

Not too bad today. The work routine seems to help my energy. Was sleeved on 6/24 and this past weekend it seems I went backwards. Was getting in at least 3 of my New Direction protein drinks a day plus all the required water. But this last weekend I was SO FULL every time I tried to drink the shakes that I could barely get in two. Not enough calories or protein. How are you doing today? I'm doing ok. I'm just really tired today for some reason...

First post-op appt and interesting view

I had to do a 2 week liquid diet. And to be perfectly plain, I'm glad I did. The 2 weeks got me accustomed to what my life would be like post-op. I got the chance to combat my head hunger a bit, as well as find a Protein shake I could get down. I'm still using the same shake post-op. Everyone is different, but I really think it set me up for success.

    Stupid weight loss advice

I was once told that if I ate this cabbage Soup all day EVERYDAY I'd lose 50 pounds.. I was told by someone who was sitting there eating a poptart.

What do you do instead of "Going out to dinner"?

Groupon and Living Social has a lot of activity deals as well. I'm hoping my husband and I will do some of those "Paint Nites" and stuff.

Did your surgery ever get postponed ?

I got a call as I was checking in that it was cancelled. I had a complete breakdown in the hospital. They got me in later that day though, so I was pretty lucky.

JUNE 2014 POST OP SUPPORT GROUP!

I don't mind! A bit longer. I chose the full bypass for a couple of reasons. One is that my doctor is very hesitant to do lap bands anymore. Another is that I had a WICKED sweet tooth, and felt the bypass would be the best to help combat that. And finally, that was the one my surgeon recommended for me, so I was willing to have the longer healing time.

RNY is a Roux en Y Gastric Bypass. I figured if I am going to do this, I might as well do it all the way, lol.

JUNE 2014 POST OP SUPPORT GROUP!

I'm just drinking protein shakes and water. I am moving around alright. I try to walk as much as possible. I find getting in and out of bed is the most uncomfortable part of my day. I haven't been hungry or light-headed at all. 8 ounces in 2 hours last night made it feel like I had a Thanksgiving Day feast. It was so weird.

JUNE 2014 POST OP SUPPORT GROUP!

Mind if I join? Hi all! I had my surgery June 30th! (I made it into this awesome group by the skin of my teeth!) I had RNY, I am 25 years old, and I'm doing alright! I'm a bit sore, but I'm able to get liquid down pretty easily. It actually scares me how easy it is, but at least I'm not having trouble...right?
  18. I got my first appointment! It's for a psych evaluation. What should I expect? I'm so nervous but excited to get the ball moving.
  19. hermione394

    UGH, Are you serious!?!

I was told to contact should I gain, so that they can help me adjust and figure out why.

Hold on to your big Tshirts

A little sewing and altering you could probably make it so it doesn't fall off! I love this!

    First appointment tomorrow!

Okay, that's good to know. I'll try not to be too nervous then.... Thanks
  22. So I know post op you have to crush pills. What happens when you are sick and need to take a huge pill and it says "do not cross/dissolve/etc" on the box? Are there meds for congestion that are WLS safe? I am on one now (boo being sick) so it made me think of what would've happened post op.
