  2. I had the vsg about 2 years ago. Lost about 100 lbs and felt amazing. But thennnnnn life happened. I became a nurse, my father passed and I miscarried. Needless to say, I've gained about 30 lbs back. Has this happened to anyone else? We're you able to lose again? If so, how? I'm just really trying to take my control back. I want to stop this weight gain now. Get back on track. If anyone has any advice. Or success stories involving gaining after the vsg then losing again, please share. I'm ready to take my life back again, I just need help on how to get started! Thanks!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Hey guys! I had my surgery on 1/28/14 (last Tuesday). Everything is ok. However, I'm having a problem getting my Vitamins in. The waiting 2 hours after the Multivitamin to take the Calcium is killing me. Not to mention I just have a hard time with pills, even before surgery. So my question is can we crush the calcium citrate? Or any of our pills for that matter? Did you? I was think of just mixing it with my yogurt or something.

  5. I totally understand. I had surgery on Tuesday 1/28. It's so hard to get my fluid in. I can't even imagine Monday when I'll have to get the fluid & protein in! Yikes!
  6. Hey guys!! I'm just curious to know how long were you off or did you take off after surgery? I know everyone's recovery is going to be different but I just wanted an idea! I'm in nursing school & I also work. I don't want to have to miss too much time, but I willing need be.
  7. Thanks guys. That's about what I was thinking 2-3 wks. No matter what I will make it work because Lord knows I want to get the show on the road!!
  8. Well I have Cigna & they require it all to be done within 90 days of approval. If I wait, I would have to start the whole process all over again. &8 definitely do NOT want to do that. I'm so close that I'm about to do a cart wheel!! Lol

Wow that's amazing!! When did you get your band?? Congrats!!
  12. So I was pretty sure I wanted the lapband. I had my first consult with the surgeon and told her my plan to get the lapband and she told me because of my bmi of 48 she recommends the rny. I'm 28 yrs old, 287 lbs, bmi of 48, type 2 diabetic & pcos. She said that the lapband would not help with my pcos. Which sucks because I want to lose the weight and eventually be able to conceive. I also didn't want the rny because of the very rapid weight loss thus increasing the amount of skin sag. I'm so confused. Has anyone else experienced this? What are your opinions? All opinions welcomed!

    Im so confused! Help!

How much did you lose in the first year? That's amazing!!! Congrats!! I've been doing tons of research & I'm pretty sure I'm going with the band! I have Cigna so I have to do the 3 month supervised diet. But I'm still excited no matter what!
