After years of losing weight and gaining it back (plus some!) I've decided I need more help than just will power, diet and exercise. I work in a hospital and see the bariatric patients after their surgery. I've wanted to talk to them and tell them how lucky they were that they had made such a brave decision. I felt a bit jealous that they were on their way to a thin, healthy body while I was still stuck in a body that I didn't like. Then one day I decided to bite the bullet and do it. I got on line and began the process to have bariatric surgery. When I made this decision all of a sudden things didn't seem so hopeless. As of this writing (11/3/13) I've done everything I need to do to have the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy and am now waiting to hear if I've been approved by my insurance company. I'm anxious, nervous, excited, and scared about it. I just want to begin my "new life" where I feel good, am able to make it through the day without aches and pains, and where I look the way I know I should look, not that woman I see in the mirror now. It's hard to believe it's going to happen!! :D
