I wonder why we all worry so much something is wrong with our band? Ya think because we've failed so much in the past with this weight battle that we're just looking for something to fail? Last Friday, I got a fill under fluoro, and I asked my doctor does everything look okay, no slips, no leaks or flipped ports or anything? He kind of gave me this half crazy smile. I mean, I literally have had no problems, and a good weight loss. It just that my head tells me something just has to be wrong. Strange, huh? Anyway, glad to hear the news Vera. We all know a good fill is really make a difference.

I can't bring up the picture for some reason. Any ideas?
-
Sorry to hear of your loss Penni, take care of yourself and be safe.

OMG...to funny! I have cancelled my fill appointment TWICE, because soon after I schedule it, I suddenly become restricted. Come on you guys, do ya really think it's in our head? I am soooooo glad I am not the only one here experiencing it. By the way, could I get some general advice? I'm losing about 2 pounds a week, am really restricted in the morning, lunch so-so, and dinner hardly nothing. Overall though, eating WAY less then before the band. Do you think I should get a fill to help with lunch and dinner, or am I on the right track?

Thanks Penni...another great idea! I put mine on reoccurring...Did you guys too?

My One Year Bandiversary or "Diary of a Slow Loser"
iluvsammys replied to MeganA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow Megan! Talk about an emotional post. My papers here at work have water spots from the tears (but happy ones!). I am very lucky so far to be a fast loser, but each day I am thankful for my loss and wonder how I will react if or when I become a slower loser. But, I too, am printing out your post so that I can use for for inspiration whenever the need arises. You are sooooo beautiful. Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint. Fifty one pounds is alot of weight, and your pictures show a remarkably smaller you! Keep up the good work, and we're all here for ya. You go girl! -
I am soooooooo jealous! You guys had too much fun.... So where are "WE" going next year?
-
You look sooooo good, Goll, 138 pounds gone forever! How long did it take you to lose it? And looking for a little encouragement because so far I am doing really well, but had a couple days when it seemed like no restriction, so went off the wagon a bit. Did you have some of these days?
-
You look sooooooooooo great. You are my official inspiration on this board! You're just a little over a year out, right? Any tips you wanna share with the rest of us "losers?" I can't wait to post some dramatic before and after pictures. You go girl...you look beautiful.

One Year Ago Today!
iluvsammys replied to Chris S. - L.I.'s topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Chris, I think you've done a great job. I'm kind of curious though, and I've heard it expressed by others that they know they haven't been the "best bander" and feel responsible for what they perceive as slower weight loss, what have you done or not done to feel you could have done better. I've only been banded 43 days and maybe your advice and advice from others who feel like you could help me out so I won't make the same mistakes. But, I think your loss is great and I can't wait to hit the XL's and L's!!! -
I'm in...... I can't wait to wake up in the morning to run to the scale. How terrible it that. Today 262.
-
Thanks for the support and advice. I feel better now. My appetite the last couple days has ready picked up. Until then, it has been a breeze. Hope this helps the hunger........
-
I'm such a scaredy cat! Today is my first fill and I am soooooo scared. My doc has told me the procedure (no flouro), and makes it sound so simple and painless, yet I have really worked myself into a frenzy. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Wow, you look great. I am 28 days out and have lost 29 lbs. Hope I am on the same track as you!! You go girl!
-
Congratulations Donali!!!!! You are such an inspiration to us all!:banana :banana

Carolyn, Sorry to hear about losing your band. I am so thankful you sought the medical attention when you did. Modern medicine is finding new ways everyday to lose weight. I'm sure something will work for you in the near future. Glad to hear you're doing better. Please keep us posted on your progess. Take Care.

Hi everyone, I am in the mushy phase, and have a craving for some type of pasta. When do you guys think I could try just some? I'm one of the lucky ones, I guess, because I have restriction already, so volume isn't a problem. My doc told me that the band was pretty snug from surgery, (suggesting politely, that I have a BIG stomach!). I was also wondering when you guys started to drink carbonated beverages comfortably. Thanks. Cindy

Welcome to the board! Curious about eating food right away?? We have all had different instructions from our doctors, but generally we all have been on liquids like the first two weeks. Hmmmmm, I wondering what the purpose of liquids are, do you think it's just to ensure we don't stretch our new stomach or vomit or something. When I started mushy, I was scared I was going to do damage or something. And, my doctor put Tuna at like week 4 or 5. That seems mushy to me....any opinions?
-
Thanks Donali, I kind of lurk around on here, but always read your posts! They are so helpful to me. And by the way, you are doing a great job on your weight loss! I did follow my liquids for two weeks as prescribed (and glad I did!)

I was never told anything about spicy stuff, and I love Mexican food with tons of jalapenos! Did we come up with a definitive answer, or do you think it's worth asking my Doc? Pretty much, I was told anything goes if you can tolerate it, no medical side affects.
-
Thanks for all the advice. I think I'll skip the diet coke, but give a ravioli or rigatoni a try. Yummy!
-
Thanks you guys! I actually knew bread wouldn't work too great. But never really hear about pasta.
