:help:The past week I have been getting heartburn (rarely had it before) The weird part is it does not happen during night. It happens during early day after first couple of bites of food it waxes and wains through out day and is usually gone by evening. Do you think this is band related or there is a problem with my band? Not having a problem eating or pain other then the heartburn. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

I Drink warm tea in am or I can only drink my breakfast. (band is tighter in am warm seems to loosen it) I also drink before lunch and dinner but not to the point miserable. Are you saying you are so tight that drinking the water hurts at different parts of the day? If so I think you are too tight. My doc told me I should never feel miserable or in pain to make this tool work. Good luck

hugs. I am sorry you are going through this. Do they think your port is flipped? I hope new doc can get it for you.

Egad.......I am going to be in trouble. I dont know that runny nose, sighs or hiccups are enough to trigger me to stop eating lol. So far so good. I do get the sensation of being full just as i did before being banded. I hope it does not go away. There are times where i am sure i am dealing with head hunger. Thanks for the info:) spunk -

5th fill under fluoro upto 4.6cc -
Saw Dr yesterday (band and pouch fine) dr says i am probably tighter in am and should start off with liquids before progressing to solids. I did get a slight fill (.2 cc) brings me to a total of 4.6 cc. I hope that this does the trick. It is my 5th fill. Thanks:)

Hello, I am hoping to get some advice. I am scheduled for fill tomorrow (#4) my band feels tight in am...but by lunch and eve i am hungry. Can eat rice (1) c popcorn (3) c. Here is the deal have only lost about 1/2 pound in past 6 weeks. 6 days ago I got stuck on a pill (am) and vomited not pb'ed. The pill is about a third of an inch. I did the 2 days of liquids. the last 2fills (under flouro) they pull back the saline and put total of 3.8 cc before obstructing(i have 10 cc band). It is a 3 hour drive to get the fill. I feel frustrated and disappointed Not sure if should get fill or wait. Any advice would be appreciated. Many Thanks

congrats on your surgery date. I am about 7 weeks post band placement 2 fills. No regrets  22lbs down I can eat steak ( small bites and chewing well) Also I drink an occasional diet Coke (my Dr says okay to drink it) I am hopeful about my future. It is an adjustment I catch my self eating too large of bites and not chewing well. It is not like I look like a freak when i go out to dinner... I can eat most things just smaller amounts, No one would even notice :woot: Good Luck -
Hello... Just got back from my second fill (surgery 6/7 first fill 2/9) I get my fills under fluoroscopy. Initial fill was 3.8 had restriction for about 3 days. I noticed i could eat more then i should be able to bumped appt from 8/9 to today. nurse says I am missing 1.5 cc and that i might have leak. :omg: She told me to call them in a few days if i dont feel restricted when eating. She says repair is not as bad as original surgery. Anyone going or have gone through this? I am bummed anyone have stats on prevalence of leak I have a AP small.

whoops typo first fill was 7/9

Hello, Can someone tell me why fills done under fluroscopy and restriction is viewed. why we need so many fills. Or why bandsters feel no restriction. I am confused. Thank you

Hello all I had my first fill today. I have an advance platform small band and got 3.8cc fill under fluroscopy. I can get liquids down fine. but having pain at band site (not at port site) and have a touch of nausea. Is this normal? Many thanks -
Hello, My doc says that with the new advance platform lap band they can do fills after 4 weeks. Anyone else have one or been told this? I got to look at the new and the old on in the office. both seem pretty good but the AP has the balloon all the way around and the closure or clasp can apparently be taken off easier then the older one. I wonder if they come undone on their own it did seem pretty easy to open and close. anyone hear of any problems with this?

post surgical sexual intimicies
spunky409 replied to kaohinani's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL well i must admit i didn't consider this being a problem, but it is a good question. Ejaculation volume is usually no more than 30 cc (2 tablespoons) at the most so i think the volume and consistancy would not be a problem. But swallowing air might be.... Oh well I guess there is gas-x strips. I am 3 weeks post op and I am usually to dang tired to stay up past 9:00. I say you go girl if you got the energy  -

Thank you all for the great information -
I Have been doing a lot of reading on this site and getting quite the education . A lot of people are talking about pb and sliming. Do most people pb and slime? is it normal or the exception? Is it something i should be prepared to live with if i get the band. Would also like to know what you "losers":) are eating after you are all healed (Like past 6 mos). Can you sit down to a meal with family and eat a small meal with out a lot of special preperation? Sorry if i missed this in a previous thead still learning to navigate this site Many thanks
