Any other September 2013 bandsters?
GeorgiaRN replied to Irishflower79's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my first fill at 7 weeks and it was only .5 cc and I don't go again until December 18. That doesn't seem like much to me but trusting they know best lol -

I think I'm going to start sticking to my shakes, Greek yogurt, Gatorade 2 and my vitamins of Course. I seem to lose better that way. I lost approx 3 lbs after my first fill when I went back to liquids. And I honestly don't remember feeling overly hungry. I even at soup - tomato and even cream of chicken. I still lost. I've got to retrain my brain to not eat because I want to but because I need to! It's difficult. I've spent 20 years or more eating to just eat. I just want to keep losing and it seems liquids help me do that! -

Yes my days vary apparently lol. I'm feeling better but I was hungry at lunch - so I had two slices of wheat bread (another test) and two smoked turkey hotdogs (6 grams of protein each) and sliced cheese - additional protein. Now I know the bread filled me up but seeing how that's all I've eaten today - it doesn't seem to be very much. I don't know...I'm losing but still haven't gotten things figured out yet. -

The stuck feeling is more in the chest area right? I don't feel that - I don't think. I just feel full like I've eaten too much!? -

I'm not saying I ate the best choice but I essentially had a sandwich - wheat bread and I have been near miserably full since then and that was 5-6 hours ago! -

Anyone have days when you eat something you feel really full for the rest of the day and others you feel hungry all day?? Today I ate lunch and had one protein shake and I feel really really full almost too full. Ugh I hate that feeling. -

Hi everyone! I went for my first fill today but after talking with my Dr - he seems to think I didn't need one. Down 18 pounds since surgery - September 26th. I have a few adjustments to make but I'm doing great according to him and my nurse. He says not to worry too much about the protein and not to eat anything unless I am physically hungry. So I'm going to concentrate on making some changes and trying to exercise more! Hope all is good with everyone! -

I'm tired. I've started back to work - where I never sit down and hardly have time to shovel in any food. Luckily I haven't been super hungry. Definitely not getting enough to drink either. Today I had 2 cups of coffee, ensure high protein shake on the way to work and at about 10 I ate 2 scrambled eggs. Wasn't overly hungry for lunch - basically just a serving of steamed broccoli with ranch and 24 oz of Gatorade. And at the end of my shift I drank a Special K protein shake. I got home from work around 9 pm and decided to just go to bed. I had gained a few pounds back since surgery on 9/26 but since starting back to work (my workouts) I've lost about 3-4 pounds lol. I'm ready for my fill on 10/31. I have no clue what size my band is or whether or not I already have any fluid in it. I haven't been exercising because I hate to do it but totally know I have to! I still crave the same foods but I'm fortunate that I can't eat what I used to as far as quantity. I'd say I'm eating 1/2 as much as I was prior to surgery. But, I'm hungry now after typing all this...lol. Really need a chef! looking forward to dropping more weight! -

I got my appt changed and so my first fill is Oct 31st! So excited! I'm beyond ready! One more thing, did anyone else have a hernia repair? I did and I've been told not to lift anything over 10-15 pounds for 6 weeks. But I have a two year old. I can say I've really tried to follow that especially for the first 4 weeks but it's getting hard not to pick her up. She wants me. I broke my ankle Aug 3rd been out of work, couldn't pick her up then either - so it's been crazy! Now I've gone back to work, feeling good, and so I've been kinda picking her up! She only weighs 25 lbs - she's small. Nothing hurts or pulls - but now worried all of a sudden that I may have screwed up. Geez it's hard not to do things when your constantly needing to do them! Nursing and being a Mom require moving, shifting, tugging, pulling (but I haven't pulled or picked up any adults at work)! -

What would a slipped band feel like? I've had no problems eating most anything. I've had a stuck feeling about 3 times but after a few minutes it went on down. I reach a full feeling. I try not to over do it and I haven't felt miserable since I've had the band except once. I've slowly advanced my diet since I was banded on Sept 26th. Now I'm scared I've screwed something up too - but I don't think so...ugh -

Could you rub some of that off on me? 4 miles!!! That's awesome...I need to get off my butt. That's going to be my biggest challenge of all! I've been sedentary (besides 14 hr days as a nurse) for so long - it's going to be a major battle!! -

Hey ladies and gents! I just wanted to throw this out there! We have many different "feelings" going on right now along with our bodies adjusting to changes. Let's not be so hard on ourselves. If you "cheat" it's ok. As long as you are trying to makes changes and making progress with your choices and your weight loss then that means you are succeeding. Your mindset isn't going to just magically change overnight. Bad habits are hard to break. FYI I had a little ice cream two days in a row. One was full fledged ice cream and the other was low fat frozen yogurt - so see I made some changes Keep smiling and pushing forward!! -

So far everything is working well - drinking and eating with no problems. I'm getting full on anywhere from 1/2- 1 cup food. Depends on day and time. I'm eating more than I was to begin with but considerably less than I was prior to band. All in all I guess it's good. Still working on the mental aspect of all this and forcing myself to make good choices! -

Ok so I am technically supposed to still be on mushies but I have kinda moved on to some solids - not many but some. I went to lunch today and ordered a taco salad. I only at a little and boy am I full...still. Nothing stuck and everything went down just fine. But I doubt very seriously I will eat anything else. -

I wish I could say I'm getting in a bunch of protein but I'm not getting as much as I should. I don't like the taste of the protein powder. The only thing I like really is the Special K shakes in chocolate. The beneprotein taste funny to me. I am, however, taking my vitamins religiously and I really think that has helped me the most thus far. I also drink my Gatorade everyday as well. I will continue to work on getting protein. Note: one small can of tuna has like 10 g and it's yummy! -

My parents had a dinner party the other night and I was there. Appetizers, dinner and several options for dessert. It was like a feast. And here I was sipping on my shake. I felt like a drug addict needing a fix. I was nearly salivating! -

I'm hungry right now and I'm sitting in the Drs office (not for lap band) thinking about what I could grab to eat on the way home. I've had a Special K protein shake and Gatorade today :/ -

NewDebbie, your experience sounds almost exactly like mine! I asked my dr about getting a fill earlier but he wouldn't do it. So I'm a tad jealous lol. Good luck and congrats! -
Crazy schedule, how do you manage?

I hope you get a lot of responses - wondering the same! -
I have definitely been able to eat more and more it seems as the days go by. I still feel full after eating but everything is going down just fine. I just tried a small amount of salad cut up really small and chewed really well and it was good but I am really full now. Probably shouldn't have tried it but I did. Hope everyone else is doing good!

Hi! I'm one week post surgery and down 9 lbs! I'm pretty excited and was curious about others weight loss? Did you continue to drop as the weeks went by? Did you find it harder to lose weight as you began incorporating more food? Any suggestions on how to maximize losing the weight? Pointers? I'm not trying to break any records but definitely want to continue losing from week to week! So far so good though!!

Week 2 and not much restriction

Ha ha! I guess I will have to make really good decisions and keep up sugar busters so to speak. And get to moving! I am going to do everything in my power to NOT gain any weight and maybe even lose!!
