I have noticed the protein shakes I drink leave a weird taste in my mouth. Maybe that's a cause.

I am getting my first fill tomorrow too. I feel the same, that its good timing as my hunger is coming around more. I finally feel like I'm on the right track and that I can do this!!!

Congrats on the band!! I had to sleep in a recliner for the first 4 nights. The abdominal pain while trying to get up was just too much to lay down. I didn't have much gas pains so the gasx tablets worked pretty good for me.

Hey all, I'm 2 weeks post op tomorrow and doing pretty good. I started mushies yesterday and I feel so much better after getting something in my stomach. I'm starting my exercise routine tomorrow and hoping my port soreness stays at bay. Keep up the great work everyone!!!!! :-)

You are not to be on them for a prolonged period of time. My doc said a short bout of them like 2xs a day for a couple days would be fine but its not something he wants his patients to do very often. Maybe you can talk with your back doctor and find an alternative drug.

Congratulations!! You will do great, just remember to walk and get plenty of rest. Keep us posted on how you're doin!!

Congrats!! I was banded the day before you and luckily didn't have too much gas pain. I just have a hard time getting up and down due to the port placement-upper right abdomen, feels like its right under my ribs. Today is much better. Good luck to you as you continue on your journey!! I'm with you MacDaddy, I'm 4 days post op and have yet to feel real hungry. I started full liquids yesterday and had a hard time getting 4oz of my protien shake down, I think I really only drank 3 of the 4 and was satisfied. Congrats to you and lets hope this feeling continues!!

Sorry to hear you're not feeling your best. I am just recently banded and I get migraines on the regular. I've been on daily meds to help control them and for the most part they do, now that I'm banded I hope that I can continue taking the meds-just started them up again today with the ok of my doc-but the point is maybe you need to be evaluated for a maintaince migraine med that will be compatible with the band. In the meantime I was told to take some liquid Tylenol if I feel a headache coming on.

I just had surgery yesterday (17th) and my port was placed in my upper right abdomen. So far, its been pretty sore and hard to get up and down from the recliner or couch.

That's wonderful news that you're doing so well!! I was banded yesterday (17th) and am having some discomfort, I believe its where my port is..right upper quadrant of my abdomen. I wasn't expecting it to be there at all but I'm sure I just have to give it a few more days. Where was yours placed? Sending you well wishes and hope you continue to heal quickly!!!

Well...nerves are kickin in a lil..tomorrow is the big day, scheduled for 9am. Can't wait to see you all on the banded side!!

Redhdgal---I'm also getting banded on the 17th!!! You will do great just follow the docotors instructions and you will see the weight start to fall off. Hope to hear from you soon!!!

So tomorrow I start my 7 day preop liquid diet, I'm feeling all kinds of emotions. Excited, nervous, curious, impatient, but most just excited!! I can't believe its almost here. I just want to thank everyone thank has helped me get to where I am and to everyone that is going to be there after!! I look forward to continuing to make many more friends along my journey!!!

Just dropping back in to see how everyone's doing as our time is fast approaching. I had to take a little time out and get focused...on me...no one else but me! I'm now happy to say I'm 110% in this, no doubts no fears!! Can't wait for the 17th to get here :-)

Yay, finally got my approval from my insurance after 5 weeks of waiting!!! I go in for my pre-op appt on Jan 20th and get my official date then which was tell will be by the end of the month....eeekkkkk so excited!!!! Anyone else out there from the Missouri/St Louis area?

Memebear, welcome! I too am from to St Louis area, no matter the age it just matters that we all are wanting to better our lives!! To everyone else-glad to hear that you're coming along so nicely. I'm still waiting for approval from my insurance company but finally spoke with a supervisor today and she stated I should have a final answer no later than this Friday :-) so still hope I can be a January bandit!!!
