Need to get back on the BANDED wagon
terrydumont46 replied to sallie2's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
sallie, you know how to do this. but when i get off track keeping a journal really helped me. the first time i did it i found where a lot of my calories were coming from and that was the protein drinks and what i mixed the protein with. i just never gave the protein a thought. i was going through a 1/2 gal. of fat free milk every couple of days. lol so keep track and see where you might be picking up extra cal. and than walk walk walk. good luck -
i called the 3 er in my area and all of them said that they wouldnt do a unfill. they would have to transfer me to my surgeon's hospital which is 2.5 hours away. thats why i hesitated at first. still not sure if i don't need a unfill. i see my doctor on the 31st. i will just eat fish and salad. both of those things go down without problem. so i know what you are talking about that most emergency rooms are not set up to do a unfill. one of the hospitals i called even do bariatric surgeries but said they couldnt unfill my band.

if you have quit for awhile why go back? i used to smoke almost 2 packs daily. still want a cig. once in awhile expecially when i am angry but i would never never start smoking again. my surgeon made me sign a contract saying i would never smoke .

man i was where you are now last weekend. just one foot in the car door on my way to the er. when i realized the warm tea i drank stayed down. since than i have had repeated episodes of pb'ing and slime. just tonight i had to walk around the yard until i felt better. i am a slow learner. when everyone said take it easy on here i just did what i wanted. it doesnt work. i know now i had a major stuck issue and i am likely still swollen.i am listening now. liquids for a couple of days. i sure hope all goes well with you. i am feeling your pain . keep us posted.

bakers chocolate is half the sugar as regular chocolate. melt some add nuts of your choice, dollop on a cookie sheet cool and than put in freezer bag and put in freezer. enjoy a piece when you just need candy.

Newbie ~ 3 weeks postop
terrydumont46 replied to nerak0127's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you are normal. you lost a good deal of weight and now your body is yelling no, it's in survival mode. keep doing what you are doing. start keeping a log of food you eat. the protein and calories. don't forget the protein drink. at minimum it has 100 cal. add it to fat free milk and you have 210 calories. it really opened my eyes when i kept an exact log of food intake. even healthy food has calories. good luck -
Hello and Intro from Jill

welcome welcome, this site is a lifesaver. nice that you found it so fast. good luck on your journey -
because you were on a prescription drug your pharmacist will have the record that you can use. if you bought a book and have a receipt that would work. but your pcp should be the only verification you would need. my weight loss doctor just asked what i have tried in the past. that was the end of that. i dont know what he wrote about me in his report to the insurance company.

take your pain medication. you will move around more easily. moving is what going to help you the most. congrat's keep us up to date

Breast Reduction/Lift Out of the question
terrydumont46 replied to Ms.Vickie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i fell and broke my arm 1 month exactly after i had the lap band done. i had to have surgery pins and screws. it didn't seem to affect my lap band at all except emotionally. my doctor said the anesthesia used in both surgeries takes time to leave the body. i told him to call it what it was, depression because i couldn't exercise anymore so my weight loss would stop. i had a big pity party going on. but i don't believe breast reduction will give you the gas that lapband did. to do the lapband they filled your belly with air. but i agree with missy. wait until after you lose the weight. -
it sounds like you have all the correct fears and anxiousness. it took me almost 2 years to complete everything my doctor wanted. you are absolutely normal. now, take a deep breath and let out slowly

Tightness of Band Changes Day to Day
terrydumont46 replied to jennybean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
no, just a ring. but i opted for the medic-alert bracelet that is stretchable. i can tell when i am retaining water with it. her idea about the ring is that ppl that retain water will show it in their fingers first. it sorta alerts me that my band might be tighter and food could get caught. if i was swollen i wouldn't have a nice rib eye steak.
