    Has this happened to you?

I would say yes. my doctor wanted me to wear a ring. if the ring was tight so would be my band and I should eat accordingly.
  3. I feel as if you have lost enough wt that you will be okay for surgery. just be sure you follow the pre op about eating prior to surgery. usually nothing by mouth after midnight thing. the liquid diet after surgery isn't so hard to follow. don't panic. if you haven't purchased a emulserfier than get one. I even emulsified asparagus.lol. I added chicken broth and emulsified and it tasted good. but whatever you like to eat that is high in protein and low in calories you can liquidfy it. good luck with surgery.

    What's Going On?

I would suggest a visit to your pcp. just to make sure you don't have a medical condition. when we have our wls everything becomes all about it but we have the rest of our body that could be causing us concern. if you are exercising like you are and eating only 800 calories a day you should be losing wt. I would just be concerned of some other possibilities. but I have heard that so often of ppl that go on vacation or go out to dinner or something and eat more calories and start the wt. loss again.

    6 fills later...

suggestion to all that are going in for fills. have whomever is doing the fill check how much fluid is in your band. it takes seconds for a withdraw.

    question about mushy stage

it is really hard to lose wt. when on soft or mushy. most whole foods are good, its what you use to make it mushy. like mayo, gravies, butter etc. this is also the best time to eat like if your band has been adjusted. yes you will be hungry so it also is a good time to figure what you can eat that isn't calorie laden for Snacks.
  7. you can make your own soups. I like chicken with all the vegetables and than use the emulsifier. for it to be thin just use more liquid. use your spices to keep your taste buds happy.
  8. the one surgery I really want is the arm lift. before wt. loss it was my arms that made me wear size 26. I can wear size 18-20 now but the wt. loss on my arms is making little butts appear on some tops. I will put up with scars that will fade in time and if they were put where I can't see them hell, I don't care. I am tired of the little butts. congrat's on all the hard work you have done. just walk proud.

    What are your excuses?

I must be not in tune or something. I just don't pay any attention to the other ppl and they leave me alone. to many ppl eat funny these days. no gluten, no meat, no starches, I just don't think ppl are that interested anymore.
  10. for chocolate I like nectar. go to amazon and you will find a slew of Protein products. I also like clike and chike. i'm a coffee lover as well.

    Has Anyone Stretched Their Pouch?

I am unfilled at the moment. my band slipped just a tiny bit. I honestly haven't given my pouch a thought. I don't eat a lot apparently because I never have a full feeling and just figured the food was going through the pouch without trouble. but I just started back on solids so I think I will be aware of this and it really small meals like my doctor wants me to. thanks for bringing this to my attention. my pouch was not stretched with the band slippage and my band slipped back over my pouch just a bit. the food instead was going up my esophagus. I just want everyone to understand that anything can happened. please be aware of your body and listen to it carefully. if odd things start to happened than you will know it and do something about it before it becomes major. okay stepping off my soapbox. I love my band , want to keep my band and am sad of the problems I am having. I don't want any of you to have the same problems.

    Worried

I was just diagnosed with bursitis of the shoulder. man is it painful. my doctor told me rest and ice packs. so that's what I did. went home told everyone to take a hike and layed in my recliner took Vicodin and had a ice pack on it all day. took a Jacuzzi that night and than cooled down the shoulder again with a ice pack while laying in bed eating a sugar free popsicle . when I woke up the following morning my pain level was down to a 2. the day before I was crying with pain. wish you lots of luck.

    Worried

I didn't even have heartburn at first but my band had slipped already. my ears, nose and throat doctor found the redness from reflux. but soon after I began refluxing in the worse way and chest pain I thought was my heart. I was taking nitro to get rid of the chest pain. sliming and pb'ing became a daily thing. it is the worse to go where our bands can take us. I wish I would have listen closer to what my body was telling me. I wouldn't be in the mess I am. but I have followed my doctor's directions to the t. and now am eating small meals of regular food. I am very hopeful for a positive outcome. I love my band and thought I was being very compliant. so suggestion now that you have indigestion please report to your doctor. not normal. and request a barium swallow.

    insurance denial!

if its covered than a letter to your state's insurance commissioner might be of help. insurance companies hate when the commissioner gets involved. I had a surgery denied years ago with my insurance saying it was pre existing. I wrote a simple letter to the commissioner and within a week the surgery was approved. good luck on your appeals don't give up..
  15. after you have surgery I bet you won't make that trip to mcdonald's. you will wait until you get home and eat something healthy and get out your photo albums to remember your friend. I once bought fast food for my grandkids and daughter and drove 50 miles with the smell of those freaken fries but I didn't eat a one. you will learn to do things differently too! I am really sorry for your loss. my thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Ugh my Mother!

I can understand some ppl feeling the way your mom does. for crying out loud I feel the same way. why couldn't I lose the wt. on my own? I did it for years. successfully yo yo'ing, but for whatever reasons my health became deadly, can't get anymore dead than your heart stopping, and I tried nutria system, weight watchers, south beach diet, zero carbs, watching calories and I watched my wt climb and climb until I hit 296. I couldn't lose anymore. diabetes was out of control and all the ppl close to me knew how hard I tried to diet. that is why I don't get what you are getting. I hope as you lose wt. you will gain confidence to be able to explain yourself to your mom and siblings so they can understand what you have gone through. I wish you a lot of luck on your road to feeling healthy
  17. my doctor didn't go by how much weight I lost but how hungry I was. I had my first fill about 6 weeks after surgery.

    Home and in pain

you can crush the pain medication. or just chew it. follow with water. a lot of ppl switched from pill form to liquid ibuprophen. remember to use heating pad to your shoulder for gas pain, to walk to help the gas in your belly to move down and to drink warm tea. take it easy for awhile and to walk a little ways every hour or so. it really helps with the pain level. codeine is very constipating so I would ask my doctor for their recommendation on stool softners. good luck on your recovery. hope it is a swift and uncomplicated one.

    Recent Unfill....

very good advice, great post. now newbies read this post and implant it in your head. sliming, pain, pbing and stuck issues are not normal to the band if you are being compliant. CALL YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!
  20. clear liquids are, tea, coffee, water, vitamin water, broth, sf jello and popsicles

    Amount in band & guilt

I have a 14cc band. my doctor told me that 8.5 to 9.0 is usually a norm. it turned out to be to much for me. I think a 8.0 would be perfect. if you are hungry between meals u need to have a adjustment done. talk with your doctor

What is going ON with me?!

I have hunger days. nothing satisfies me. that is why my freezer is stuffed with all kinds of sugar free treats. fudgesicles are only 40 cal. or frozen Yoplait greek yogurt is 90 calories and it has good amount of protein in it. a protein bar helps me on days when I need that sweet stuff.
  23. terrydumont46

    No weight loss

I have trouble sleeping on my left side now. and if I ate late or drank anything if I turn to my left side I will have a bit of reflux.

    Am I Crazy?

I don't think I would buy the larger size but I am always asking my husband if I am smaller or bigger than someone walking by me. I have no idea how I look. I know I can wear size 16. but don't know what that means.

NEED TO VENT AND NEED HELP!

if they didn't give you any directions, I will. my band slipped too. not as bad as yours has. i'm more of a 2:00 slip. this is what I've had to do. my band was completely unfilled. and I was at green zone. liquids for 2 weeks and soft for 2 weeks and next week I will be starting solids but I have to split my meals into 5 small meals. the idea behind this is to let everything relax and hopefully your band goes back into place. I also had chest pain so bad I was taking nitro. after many heart tests it was determined that my heart was fine but with the barium swallow it showed over 20 spasms in my esophagus and at the time of the swallow I wasn't having any pain at all so I've been wondering what my esophagus was doing when I had the severe chest pain. my esophagus also elongated. so this is serious. you need to treat this very seriously. and I would look for a clinic that is more concerned. you should always have a way to get in touch with your doctor. but in the meantime go on liquids. be strict with yourself. I am really sorry you have had such a hard time. the vomiting and pain was a sure sign you had slipped. I bet if they went back to that first endoscopy it will show signs of slippage. my suggestion to you is on Monday morning you are going to call the doctor office and speak to the doctor. if the girl answering the phone doesn't put you through get very assertive. what has happened to you needs a conversation with the doctor. and you shouldn't have to drive 3 hours to just discuss something. please start liquids, sip and don't gulp. take care of yourself
