Today was my first fill and I was a little suprised by my nurses reaction to the amount of saline they put in. I have been doing very well with my caloric intake and have not been feeling hungry but I received a 3cc fill today. I am feeling somewhat nauseated and my chest is tight. I am hoping this will pass as the day goes on. I was just taken a back by the nurses comments . She said "I thought you had some restriction, I am surpised at how much of a fill you needed.

So I am 8 days post op and I feel amazing. I have dropped 12lbs so far and I feel 95% normal. I am following the post op diet strictly. My husband calls me the calorie nazi but I just want to be successful. I keep reading all these post about how terrible people feel on the post op diet and how hungry they are and it makes me think that my feeling so good is an indication of something wrong. I tend to over analyze and fret over things and this is one of those things. Am I the only person who feels this way? Is it really abnormal to feel so good so soon after surgery?

I have had the same reaction from people. I hate having to explain to people just how much I weigh and my BMI because I then get the response well you don't look that big! My mother didn't want me to tell people I have been banded because of "THOSE" types of people. People can be so inconsiderate at times. Hang in there! We all encountered people like that. RANT AWAY!!!

It's day three of post op and I'm feeling exceptionally well. It makes me a little nervous. My best friend is 5 years post op and was shocked to see how well I was doing. I just hope that I can do well on thickened liquids for two weeks. That's a lot of puréed soup and low cal smoothies. I have really enjoyed reading the post on the forum I feel that this forum will be a great assert to my success!!

Try cream of potato soup and thin it down with some low sodium chicken stock also sugar free fruit bar Popsicles are delicious. Low cal high Protein smoothies are tasty too. Try 1/2 c skim milk 1 container sugar free vanilla yogurt. Two strawberries and a tsp of honey it's low cal and delicious!! Almost as good as a strawberry milkshake hehe. I hope you get to feeling better I look forward to hearing more about your recovery.

So I have battled my weight since I was a teenager and nothing has lasted. As a young adult I lost 50lb quickly and gained back 75. It has always been an uphill battle and thanks to the support of my family and friends I have decided to get a lap band. I am scheduled for surgery Oct 3. I am beyond excited. My best friend had the procedure done three years ago and has lost a whopping "150" lbs. I hope that I can maintain my weightloss as well as she has. I am so excited to have join this forum so that I can hear about your experiences with lap band.
