I visited my PCP and was informed that I tested positive for H-Pylori infection. So I am started on a broad-spectrum of antibiotics for the next 2 weeks, no big deal I thought. Well the next thing I am informed that my gallbladder is on the verge of rupture so in the next few days I will be headed to surgery to have it removed. I was wondering if anyone else had any of these issues and did it delay your surgery? If so, for how long? I have been on the road to a gastric bypass since January of this year. I’ve done my psych eval, my 6 mos monitored diet and exercise plan, and I have gotten my A1C under 7.5. I am currently working with Tricare for approval and went through my first denial due to not being fluffy enough (I need to be 210 but I fluctuate drastically within a month of 180 to 210 and sometimes 215)the part that the office transcriptionist doesn’t understand is that my weight is increasing even though I have increased my exercise and decreased my calorie/carb intake to below 1200 cal a day, however I qualify because of all other conditions such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, and sleep apnea. I am a little disappointed because I have worked really hard to get this far and it seems like it is going to be even longer now. Sorry to whine, just sad. I really wanted to get the surgery done and over with so I could begin feeling better. What I mean is that GB has been related in many case studies at helping diabetes. My mother had a bypass in 1984 and was diabetic and 3 weeks post-surgery she was practically cured. No more injections or pills , just a diet plan. Sorry for the vent, I was just wondering if anyone else had this much issue with getting approved?
