wow Alex, lots of news going around LBT! Glad you are on the road to recovery - and just as happy to hear that your ins. will pay for re-banding! phew! just wondering.. this 'already hungry' thing, is it like the old pre-banding days? or is it comparable to the banded un-filled days? just wondering, cause that pre-banded hunger scares the crapola outta me.

Glenda, I applaud your decision! Its one that Im trying to encourage myself to do as well. Please keep us posted on the ups and downs of your *new* un-filled journey.

Ive taken diet pills off and on during my banded years. When I ve noticed a weight gain (+3-5 pounds) I'll taken them for a week or so till I can get my eating under control. I keep a bottle of tenuate (oblong tablets) on hand for these situations! I -always- break the tablet in half, I cant stand the 'high' feeling the diet pills give me. For me, 1/2 tablet works fine and goes through the stoma with no problems. Good luck!

OT- Forum layout change=forum doesnt work as well
paula replied to joe7777's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Alex, Those of us older LBT members can testify that we've always squirmed at changes you've made in the past. Through time, we've adjusted. The ad's on the right do not bother me. If these ad's are the reason that we can continue using this site for free, then so be it! -
First timer here-hello to all
paula replied to conno1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Blue tattoo and Conno! WELCOME to lapbandtalk.com Conno, WOW - another banded couple (soon to be!) There's a couple of other banded couples around here. Hope you guys can connect for the sake of supporting each other. How wonderful that you and your spouse can share this experience together! And dont worry about the Mexico trip. A VERY high number of bandsters travel to Mexico for their surgery and fills. A big number of those folks can be found lurking around here. If you need anything, just ask. Those Mexico-bound bandsters are so valuable for their experience! Glad to have all of you... good luck! -
Newbie - waiting for my initial consult 3/26

Hi Jenny, WELCOME to LBT. Lots of valuable readings here. And if you cant find what youre looking for, just ask! Good luck - MOST esp. with having a 6 wk old BeBe to love on during this phase... (MAJOR congrat's btw!) Another good forum for getting banding information is band2gether.net --- not as big as this place, so you may be heard a little louder! Good luck - and again, WELCOME! -
You're not alone! There's several members here that eroded and are interested in another band. (Penni60 is one that comes to mind) (((another Ortiz erosion?!?!?!)))) Im hoping you are interested in finding a NEW surgeon to be re-banded by. I just looked at your profile and saw that you are in Flordia. I know there is an awesome group of surgeons that specialize in AGB outside of New Orleans area - I can get you more info if your interested. know what?? if I lost MY band, I'd probably seeking rebanding after everything healed up! I dont think you're crazy - I think you're keeping it real. I couldnt do 'points' forever either! Good luck.

Even though this is an old thread, I wanted to update my progess on this constant battle... here's something that's been a great big blessing in our home - - bottled water. no juicy bags of high sugar liquids stashed in the fridge for a quick thirst quincher. Only bottles of water. I keep REAL orange & apple juice in 1/2 gallon or gallon containers for breakfast(and milk). Other then that - its water. Marcus has lost 3 pounds in 2 weeks from this simple change. :clap2: Anyone else have new ideas to help battle the buldge in our growing youth??

I came and checked this thread about a week ago. I saw where her log in date was fairly recent - which was reassuing! hey Diane! we're still thinking of you! Let us know HOW you're doing!

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/go-fish-t5731.html?t=5731&highlight=mercury+in+tuna Im not sure if this is answer you're looking for, but I dug up an old thread that had valuable info regarding mercury in tuna. You're wise to be cautious about this one!

Hi Celeste  Yep, sure DO remember you! So, you're still hanging out in Malawi? You have every bit of my respect. Good to hear from you. ((((HUGS))))

Hi Melissa, Unfortunately, there's zillions of old threads floating around here. Here's a thread that deals with fills/adjustments. Maybe there's a conversation in this thread that strikes a bell..? http://www.lapbandtalk.com/fills-adjustment-info-t3733.html My other thought is that your fill doctor should have rules/guidelines for you to follow! you may want to ask his office this question?!

Unexplained restriction? possibly caffeine?
paula replied to BrwnEydGrl82's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Caffine could be the culprit... you may want to re-schedule Thursday's fill for another week or more, just to see if this new restriction sticks around. Many people gain restriction 4-6 weeks after a fill... so you may be one of those late 'bloomers'.. Regarding the caffine: Try not having any for a day or so and see if things 'loosen' up.
