Welcome to LBT! So GLAD you are here. You have a great story. A lot of things I could definately relate to. Are you still losing weight?
-
Hi Flower, My doc does NOT prescribe pain meds post surgery, just liquid tylenol! So, the recital is 2 days later? You will be sore, but I think this is doable! I agree with the others about not "over doing" it, and taking a small walk every so often. Wear comfy clothes, nothing tight fitting. The pillow is also a great idea. A dance recital is somehting I would NEVER miss!

Great info Betty! Name: Sugar Alcohols - sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol, maltitol, lactitol, isomalt, erythritol What is it? Sugar combined with hydrogen, which hinders digestion Caveats - None Daily Limit? No, but large amounts may cause gas or bloating How true. I ate some sorbitol in s/f turtles about a month ago - nearly killed me from the gas!

LMBO... OMG!!! Too Funny!!!!!! Thats ALL they ever think about!

How funny! Weve NEVER thought of you as one. My goodness Mary, youve been through the wringer! I had my gall bladder out about 12 years ago - and the pain from the stones is something you NEVER forget. Are you going to have the laproscopic surgery? ((hugs)) Heck, your insurance may "cut you a deal" since your giving them so much business! lol

Terri, I too agree with the others. Why does everything always have to be such a fight? More like competition. WHY? Why cant everyone just be HAPPY that we have ALL taken this giant step towards a healthier lifestyle - regardless of RNY or lap-band or somekind of switching of things. When I was checking into WLS my good friend had just had the rny. She encouraged me to do the right thing for ME - not what she had done, or what this person says about this or that, but a decision that I would be happy with 20 years from now. And when I choose the band, she was just as happy - because I had decided to do something for my health regardless of what procedure. I think we should ALL get together and give each other a pat on the back, because weve showed courage that many others will never have (like my mom). Thanks for being here:) We enjoy you as much as you enjoy us! God bless!

yep, Id say you have a darn good reason to be angry! I would be too! Youve been waiting for this for a week - only to find out that it was the wrong day? So, tomorrow's the x-ray?

This has nothing to do with a lap-band. Im just in need of some love & guidance from my extended family! Were moving. Several years ago we bought our first home. A small (1200 sq ft) 3 br 1 bath - cutiest little house. After our 3rd & last baby came along, we realized that we needed a little more room. So, 2 years ago we bought this home that we are currently living in. Even though my older ones were only 7 & 2, it took them a good year to "get over" that move. Anyway, my parents bought another home last summer and their old house has been vacant. They lived in this house over 40 years - only home Ive ever known. Everyone confused yet? Well, my parents offered us this house. NOT to have, but to live in as long as we wanted. *no mortgage* At their first offer, we declined. But after the holidays, and the bills started coming, we reconsidered. So, here we are, 2 years later, moving - AGAIN! We signed the buyer/seller agreement yesterday with the people who are buying our house. So its official - were moving! Why am I telling you this? Im worried about my kids. Moving is a very stressful thing. Especially *MOST especially* on children. Tonight, my little 4yr old started crying asking why we had to move & telling me how much she loved our house. (we love our house too, but we love the idea of *no mortgage* even better - this is an opportunity that very few people ever get, so we feel blessed to have this outlet) So now Im really sad. Please yall, tell me that we are doing a wise thing here and that my kids are going to recover from this.

Hi Rhonda! This does seem a little aggressive for a first fill, but everyone is different. This may be a little tight for some, and not tight enough for others. If you find that you are not able to drink Water then you may want to contact your surgeon's office and get an unfill. Good luck!

Penni - bone spurs HURT!!! Here's to wishing you a quick recovery...

Hi Alatina... WELCOME to LBT!!! Glad to meet you. And Congrat's on getting the band. How much weight have you lost so far? -
OK - so I guess we wont be moving out so fast! We just got a phone call from the people buying our house - they are backing out! What disappointment! We are trying to sell it ourselves, so the "For Sale" sign is already back out. Besides all of this aggravation, my 9 yr old came home from school Friday with a stomach bug... then Saturday night I came down with it. Life, huh?

Hope youre having a grreaaat day! Happy Birthday & God bless!

awe Kellygirl, what beautiful words! Thanks Terri for this thread! I want to share what Mike and the kids got me for this day... nope, not beakfast in bed, nope, not a "day off" (just finished folding/putting up a load of clothes and waiting for the next to dry). But this morning -I was allowed to sleep late- and the 3 kids came in the bedroom and gave me my gift... a hardback picture book of John Paul II. But my FAVORITE was the hand drawn picture of our family that Anne Marie made. Then they started fighting - which brought me back to reality. Happy Mother day everyone!

Ive chosen a select few to tell. Being this far down the road, Ive realized that the people that know about my band, tend to "watch" me eat. Another thing is people that I havent seen in a couple of months expect to see me so much smaller... so Ive regretted telling a few, and so happy with not telling some. The one thing my surgeon told me for my initial cosultation is that folks that get the band are able to get away with telling NOONE - he is right!
-
Hi Cathy - and WELCOME! So glad you found us .

Usually 4 to 6 weeks, depending on your surgeon.
