    Rica and I in Dallas

Look at those BIG smiles! looks like you had a blast. And Tricia, youre looking pretty good yourself!!!
  2. Karen, Funny how all of our systems are so different. I took Wellbutrin XL 300 for about a year. Didnt notice any weight gain. But didnt notice any aid in anxiety/depression either. Only problem with this was I had a very hard time sleeping when I took it.

    Short Shorts!

Michelle, i saw those cropped capris - you like em'? I may go try some on and see how I look in them. I actually thought that was what Alexandrea was talking about. You are right, they have several of cute summer colors in those short capri's. They would certainly solve my problem for hiding the fatty thighs! Margo, I -NEVER- shop at Old Navy. No reason why, I just forget about that store! Thanks for telling me about the shorts there - Im definately going to look there!

OMGosh Babs... talk about stressful! You have a many transitions happening at one time. And I truly send you my condolences on behalf of you father-in-law. Now, about the MIL, just remember - this is only temporary! THank God you have a job (outlet)... cant imagine staying 24/7 in the same house as my MIL - or ANY other adult woman!

    Hair Loss

Karen, I was just wondering about the biotin. Someone (my docs nurse) recently recommended that I take it, so I bought some yesterday at Walmat. Does it really help? My doc's nurse said that it does!

    Bra Shopping

Im kinda embarressed to post this thread, but I need help! I need a new bra. :ermm Last time I bought a bra was before my band, so that was 40+ pounds ago. So there's extra room in there - not something Im used to. And since Im in need and JC Pennys is having a big sale on them, I decided that it was time. For the first time in my bra life, Ive realized that I have no idea how to pick one out. I used to get a certain "granny style" that is made for large busted women. But things have changed now, and I realize that NOW I actually have a choice. Oh geez, the choices...... there are some that make you pointed, some that flatten you (minimize), some that make you rounder, underwire, no wire, wide straps, WIDER straps, front clasp, back clasp.... I know its a personal preference, but should they be round or pointed? And what does the wire thing do?? Only on LBT can I ask questions like this.

    Bra Shopping

Mary, at the top of this page, Geezer Sue gave us a chart for bra shopping. (by the way - where is she, havent seen her around in a while) So, according to this chart, you may want to try a 36 DDD. Again, its like anything else, different brands are sized differently. So you may need to take several brands of the same size to get the "right" one! *sigh* even bra shopping is a challenge!

    Hiatal Hernia anyone?

Hi Hamu, and WELCOME to LBT! My goodness, youve had a rough start! So glad you are healing though... slowly, but surely! I *think* "New Hope" AKA Marie also had this surgery at the time she was banded. You may want to PM her to get details. Good luck and keep us updated!
  16. When did you get this fill? Most surgeons (and all of us here) recommend at least 24 hours of liquids after a fill, and another 24 hours of mushies. Are you having any trouble drinking Water? even sips?? If so, then you may be too tight. If not, then try taking smaller bites and waiting longer between bites. Heres a thread that we talked in detail about PB's. Good luck, and keep us posted on your journey! http://lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=4170

    We're now a sister team!

How neat is that??? You two are truly a team now! You & you sister sound like me and mine. Im hoping that my sis will get the band as well. What a great source of support!
  20. I asked this question a while back, but aimed at more of a CBC - general bloodwork. Some people say every 6 months we should get checked, just to see if we are getting everything we need, and that our levels are in a normal range. Here's the link so you can read what everyones response was... http://lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?t=6503
  21. gigglegirl, try cutting your meat into VERY small pieces - like the size of an M&M - and see if this helps. After you swallow, count to 30 before another bite. This will help you get into the habit of eating slower and smaller bites. Try eating about 5 (?) pieces like this. Just see if this works, and let us know! Monica, it has taken me a while to "figure" out what restriction actually is, so bare with me as Im going to try and give details of my restricion journey... after banding, I *NEVER* felt ANY type of restricion. THEN the morning before I recieved my first fill (4 weeks post op) I ate a piece of left over pizza and WHAM!!! got the tightness in chest and slime mouth. Until that point I had never experienced this feeling... remember now, this was 4 weeks post op! I dont remember much about this first fill, just that I seemed to never feel full - which is what we are all seeking in banded life . Then I got my 2nd fill. Doc gave me .2cc's more. Afterwards, I went into the waiting room to drink my Water and I could feel it gurggling in my esophgus (sp?) as the water was trickling through my band. This was new! hmmmm, maybe I have restriction! Although I still had no idea how to analyze what my body/band was telling me, I still ate even though I wasnt hungry. About 5 weeks later, I could only eat 1/2 of what I was eating at the time of my fill. would get the tightness in chest feeling - thats when I realized that my "fill" must have kicked in. Now, whats REALLY interesting is that 2 weeks ago I had a stomach bug. Didnt vomit, but was very nauseated and had diarrhea. Since this began, I have had GREAT restriction. NEVER hungry!!! Tummy doesnt even growl. And very small portions are filling me... Yesterday I ate a 1/2 sandwich, McD's icecream cone & for supper, a bowl of cerel . Thats it! SuPeR restriction! And last fill was in Nov!

What does everyone do for a living?

Starbright, get this... when my oldest was in kindergarden, he made friends with Justin. From day one, he and Justin were the best of friends. Whats strange? He and Justin were the ONLY 2 kids (out of 26) that had stay-home-moms. Now they are in 3rd grade, and yes! they are still best buddies! On the other hand, ever noticed that Nanny 911 always goes to the houses where Mom stays home?

    My $15 Outfit!

This is definately something Ive NEVER felt comfortable about wearing before now - still not sure how I feel about it. The shirt is a size 16/18 - $4.96, and the skort is a size 14 - $9.96. Both from Walmart! **Im editing to add that after I saw this picture on LBT, it looks like I have something black in my teeth - whats up with that??? Must be that HP camera **
