Angie, It does get better - we promise. This is commen in this phase. You may have to force yourself to burp - often. About the BM's, Jack was right about contacting your surgeon to see what he recommends taking. Since you are so newly banded, you dont want to harm anything.

Id prefer Momma in the background.... she's my kinda girl!
-
Kathy, I LOVE the saying (and its one I think about very often), "I may not be where I should be... but Im NOT where I used to be" - Joyce Meyer. Doesnt that say it all?
-
OMG Alexandra - How awesome!!! Your kids will remember that forever! And sweatshirts??? In July???? On saturday, the van's temperature gauge read 102! And its not just 102, but 102 with 100% humidity. yuck!

Hi Doll! Ive never heard of these protien drops, but youve stirred my interest in finding them. Hope someone can give us more info. I NEED more protien in my daily diet. I just looked at that site, and I agree, it should be placed as a sticky! Great finding!!!

Hi Sam! Yep, Im one of those folks too! At this point (6 months after my last fill), since my restriction is stronger on some days then others, I dont think I could handle another fill. BUT - a week after this fill and I was planning the next one. Only time will tell.... Good luck - maybe this is the magic fill level for you

Alexandra, I remember a few months back you were having reflux symptoms. You had a small unfill and things were better. Are you completely reflux free now?
-
I had boo-koo's salt food last night and it gave me a 2 pound gain. Is it ok if I wait until tomorrow to give my current weight?

I wash my face with pink dove & wash cloth every night. I use regular mascara - not Water proof - and when I sweat or get teary eyes (for instance, when Im at the pool) I just dab (not wipe) my eye area often with a dry towel. Crystal, Im not sure what bronzers are. So Ill wait and see what everyone else says about that one!

Crystal, You and Alexandrea need to consider yourselves LUCKY! Ive never been fortunate enough to go without makeup. Even with a nice tan, my face tone is uneven. Sooo, I wear Max-Factor panstick, with a powder over it all, mascara & lipstick. Thats it. Loreal lipstick - $7 - and usually I go for the earthy colors. Ive been tempted to try Clinique make-up (sold at Dillards). IMO - There foundation seems to be the most natural. If you notice women in general, they are going out with less on their face these days - less is more, ya know? So you (and Alexandrea) are really fitting in with everyone else!

Lindsay, Im not sure why the Reflux thread was closed... ??? I was banded 6 months - and as a result of my second fill, I developed reflux (never had it before). The doc's office suggested for me to have a small unfill to relieve the symptoms. But before doing that, his nurse suggested that I try a couple of different things. Not eating after 8pm, elevating the head of your bed may even help, and different med's like prilosec, prevacid, nexium. At this point, I take the meds as needed (prilosec), try to never eat after 7:30 - and not even Water an hour before bedtime... and I may have a reflux experience twice a month.... maybe! It happens only when I have a doughy something for supper - like pizza. And its only at bedtime when it does occurs. The aloe vera juice may help. I bought some to try, but after 3 days I noticed a foul odor coming from the bottle when I took off the lid, so I poured the rest down the sink... ?? And just out of procrastinatin I havent gone back to get any more. Aloe Vera is good stuff - helping from one end to the other! I suggest you calling your surgeon and seeing what they recommend doing.

Thats a great question! Ive had 2 fills - in 1 year. First one was 1.6 (?I think?). And at my second fill visit, the doctor pulled out only 1.2, so he brought me back to 1.6. My second fill took a while (4 -5 weeks) to "activate". I find that I am very content at this level of restricion.... and its been since end of Nov. since that last fill. Can you believe?

what insurance co's pay for the band?
paula replied to lovecats85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Lovecats, Thats really a tough question to answer. There are tons of insurance companies that pay for AGB (Adjustable Gastric Banding - lapband). I recommend that you get a copy of the different insurance companies that your work carries, and start from there. You can get phone numbers for each one and simply call and ask them IF they pay for this surgery! Thats where I would start. The requirements vary from one company to another. Some ask for documented weightloss attempts from a physician for at least 6 months prior to WLS (weight loss surgery)... some Ins. companies require you to have a physic. evaluation, some require a consultation with a dietian - some want you to get both. Each one has their own rules. Once you find the "right" Insurance company, they should be able to answer that question. Good luck. (I had Mail Handlers Benefit Plan Insurance company) -
this sounds like some place on the cartoon network.

Hi Lorie, My first consultation was end of April, and my surgery was beg. of July. So, 9 weeks?

Reflux - GastroEsophageal Reflux Disease
paula replied to New Hope's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Christine, ((hugs)) to you girlfriend! You deserve every bit of happiness in the banded world that the rest of us have experinced. You will get there, I promise. Its just taken you a little longer . And I commend you for taking the first step - a phone call to see the doctor. How about not eating after a certian time? Does that help the GERD? If Lopez can not see you next week, *please* find another that can. -
You are cracking me up! So Lisa, you just going for a follow up?
-
Hi ya Greg! Hope you have a wonderful blessed day! Happy Birthday!

Pat, your boys are cutie's! The older one looks alot like you Is that the only 2 grands you have? Darcey, I absolutely LOVE your doxie's. Claire is what they call "pecan" colored.
