    DSL vs Cable

Mary, Im gonna give this one a shot.... MSN is like yahoo. regardless of your internet provider, you will still be able to access MSN. Ive had MSN as my homepage for years and changed dial up providers twice AND switched to this DSL crap - and still have MSN as a homepage. Is this any help? like Crystal, I have no idea aout the security comp. Youre one up on us with that stuff. I asked TONS of questions to my cable company - they were VERY imformative and helpful (of coarse - they want my business) so Mary, try calling your local cable comp and ask these questions. Let us know what thy tell you.

    Hurricane and MY FILL!!!

Robyn, Next Monday is you first fill? You dont want to be dodging hurricanes AND having stomach aches b/c you cant eat! Just be prudent, and keep a watchful eye on those storms in the gulf/Atlantic, and make your decision Monday morning.

    Hording

Its really a good balance, hoarders and OCD's... you see, my parents moved last fall - both are hoarders. It took about 2 weeks for them to move everything they -needed- into their new home. Meanwhile, the old house remained F U L L of things they never needed or used... like scrap material, my mother hasnt sewen in 20 years. There was MORE things in the old house then what we moved to the new house (except for furniture). NOW! When it came time for us to clean the old house out, we made a "keep" pile, "garage sale" pile, and (my favorite) junk pile. They had lived in this home for more then 40 years, they had crap that they hadnt seen in... oh, 40 years. But my mother couldnt part with a lot of it. So I stoped asking "which pile" and just started chunking. 4 full outside trash cans later and a trip to the local dumpster, and only 2 rooms were cleaned out! phew! In her new home, she has a huge living room - 25X25. There is something on every wall, in every nitch, in every space. TOOOOOO suffocating for me. So I come home to my sanitarium. Crystal, all that crap everywhere is her security too. But security from what???

ahh, dont you guys just love our dysfuntional backgrounds that made us this way? Michelle, Lisa - I am definately on your team! I have a reputation in my family, "Dont leave it at Paula's house, she'll throw it away!" - and I will! I hate clutter. I mean it - I hate clutter! and Lisa, you are so right, I H A T E stuff on my counter tops too. I go to my parents and immediately start clearing the counters. Whats the deal with our kitchen issues? Crystal (and other hoarders) - one question. If you never use it (hadnt used it in years), why keep it? honestly now.

    some food ideas

Jayme, you gave WONDERFUL ideas! I love the one with the chicken in the salsa/cheese - sounds yummy! Here's another chicken idea... I spray pam in a skillet & brown my chicken tenders with lemon pepper. We either eat the chicken this way, with veggies on the side - Or cut the chicken up and mix it into a salad. Either way - its another chicken idea! My food ideas are boring compared to yours - Great thread!

WOMEN ONLY! Ever Heard of Avlimil?

LOL, you are so SO right!
  13. This is a great question, and Ive thought about it many times. Is true happiness found in being 190 pounds? ...150 pounds? ...125 pounds? I think this is where alot of us get "number confused" - including myself! And we think, "If only I could get to a certian weight." I remind myself why I started this particular journey - NOT for what the scale says - but for what my body says. So, for me, true happiness is in going to an Amsument park and spending 6 hours in the heat and NOT having to stop and rest in the air condit. shops because I feel like Im truly going to DIE. Or going to the Water park with my kids and not focusing on "if they are looking at my fat". Or (this is the best one) my 9 year old putting his arms around me for a hug and saying, "Mom, I can wrap my arms all the way around you". Who cares what our goal weight is??? Our challenge should be in how we feel, not a number!

    Dialation

Barbara & Sue, did either of you experience ANY odd feelings (other then reflux) that couldve helped you figure out that something was wrong? And how did the doc find this, through endoscopy? Ive been thinking about this post a lot since I read it. Wondering what I would do if this happened to me - facing the possibility of band removal. Leatha, just wondering... why did the doc wait 3 months to replace your band? why didnt he just give you another one when the first one broke ? I mean you were already asleep, and he was at the right place at the right time. Why wait?

    exercise

Carmen, maybe invest in a personal trainer? That would be my suggestion. They could help you with exercises in certain problem areas. There are a couple of members here that have a pt - and LOVE the results.
  22. Ive been drinking distilled Water for about 5 years now. Because of a couple of reasons, we are thinking of installing the reverse osmosis water purification system for our drinking purposes. Anyone have this system? If not, then what kind of water do YOU drink? distilled...... purified....... spring........ tap.......
  23. paula

What Kind of Water Do YOU Drink?

I buy gallon jugs of distilled Water from Walmart - .56 cents a gallon. Ive tried other brands of distilled water, but the walmart brand taste so much better, and its cheaper. Our tap water is NASTY! Full of hard minerals. Even comes out of the faucet with a brownish color. So thats why we switched to bottled water. Has anyone ever heard of the reverse osmosis water purification system?

Who owns or started lapband talk?

Hi Rene. The owner/starter of LBT is Alex B. He's not around much, but if you need him, Alexandra (moderator) is able to contact him. Its a little confusing - owner is named Alex (male). Moderator is Alexandra (female). 2 different people. Hope this helps.
