Could I do this diet with Fruity Pebbles or Apple Jacks?

Im bumping this thread up. You have a very good question, and we have lots of Houston area bandsters. Hopefully you can get an answer. Good luck!

Anyone experience back pain with the band? (Please stay on topic)
paula replied to Anthony's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Anthony, Great info Theresa just posted. Every now and then we hear of someone having long term banding pains like yours. "TrishS." is also having severe pain in her abdomen since banding. You may pm her and compare notes. The pain must be pretty bad for you to want your band removed. ((hugs)) to you on this decision. Please keep us posted on your situation. Its the only way WE can stay informed! -
Thats right, you are having pain as well (I forgot about that when I posted yesterday) Without going back and reading your old post, I thought I remembered the pain being better right after the surgery. But its back? (or maybe it never left) This is NOT normal - you know that! and yes, you NEED to talk about this to your doctor. Please call him - TODAY! (**and here's your kick in the arse**) Im going to repeat this restriction crapola again... (and it truly IS crap - seeing that some days its good/bad) It took me about 4 weeks after my second fill to get restriction. REAL restriction. But I didnt realize what restriction actually felt like (thank God for hindsight) until much later. I figured that the 1/2 meat pattie that I ate was "stuck"... never dawned on me that it was the pouch being full from my level of restriction. (I told you I was a slow learner ) It took a long time get the mind and stomach working together... for things to click! (Ha! I sound like Ive got this figured out) Im hoping that this may be your situation. And all these "rules" that people post on here never worked for me. Only the Water rule - drink plenty of it. You know your body. So I challenge you to create your OWN rules. If I eat anytime before 11am, I seem to eat ALL day. So I try not to eat until I actually get hungry... which most of the time seems to be lunch time. When I do this, Im able to control my eating much more. But this is a personal thing - like I said, we are all different. *** BTW, when I do get hungry, Ill have a Wendy's chili or a chedder/bacon baked potatoe from there, or if im really restricted (around my cycle) Ill grab a McD's shake - I like McD's because its yogurt - not ice cream. Just wanted to give you some ideas of what I do. I dont count calories or carbs or protien... I just eat to live, no longer live to eat. Back in the old days, I would get a # 4 - biggie size. But now Im full to the gills with a small Wendy's chili. I like that new way of eating. And Ive lost 70 pounds in the process of adjusting to this "new way of eating". So, eating healthy ISNT dieting... its a way of life. Its all about choices Sister. But for now - PLEASE call that doctor about your pain. Thats the primary concern. CALL NOW! (((hugs)))

Trish, I *tried* to reply to you earlier, but LBT must have been on the blink around noon time today... ??? Here is a BIG (((hug))) for a well deserved moment of being discouraged. You must realize that this tool you received hasnt worked correctly for quite a while - so your level of weightloss while being banded isnt accurate. Yes, its frustrating, but youve lost 47 pounds (and you thought noone noticed you were in TWOdor-ville, woo hoo!!!). And you did this basically on your own! Lets see whats gonna happen with good restriction! Oh, and think about this, you weigh less then you did a year ago. Thats something to smile about. With Stinky Leaky fixed, youre on the right track now, Baby!!! LOOK OUT! ...Oh, and Im like Betty. I eat anything and everything. Just much less of it.

Ive been having some dental problems and tylenol isnt doing much for the discomfort. I know we (lap banders) arent supposed to have ibuprophen, but what about the childrens version. Think it would harm my band if I tried the liquid childrens motrin?
-
Sally, there are several members that have had boob jobs. I can send you a pm with their names if you are interested. Geezersue posted the link to a great web site that gave before and after pics. This site helped me decide if I wanted to pursue this type of PS. Basically, the larger you are, the harder the surgery is. http://breastreduction4you.com/message_board.htm

See, if Chris hasnt smoked since Saturday, then the zapping has already (literally) paid for itself. Actually, the hardest part of the nicotine cravings are over - the first 3 days are the worst. Just keep reminding him of that. And Im with you on the "Ill try anything" stuff... thats why Im asking about it.
-
With my -70 gone (and almost 17 years of marriage), my husband says that its like "doing it" with another woman.... Im not sure if thats a good thing or not.
-
Honestly now, the reason we were all banded is because we couldnt "do it" on our own. So, I give you all my love and support with lots of deep prayers along with it all! Have you thought about diet pills for a temporary fix? You know, just a half every other day... something like that may work for you. (there's paula pushing drugs again)
-
I hadnt thought of the advil soft gels... I just figured the childrens liquid motrin was the safest! Thanks Michelle, for telling me about it!! Carmen - you gave wonderful and much needed advice about using motrin. Thanks for the caution!!!
-
Hey Lisa... how ya feeling since the zapping???
-
Megan, I L O V E cerel. Any kind, all kinds. IF this works - please let us know. I will certainly be on my way to the store for some mini wheats!
-
Mandy, I havent read any other replys to this thread, so forgive me if Im repeating something someone else has mentioned... But have you sought a second opinion? How sad that the medical field is pushing (literally) med's on young patients. I would be devistated to have to give my child any drug of this kind. God bless you... and most especially your baby girl!
-
Hey Mom! What good news this was. So, being unfilled for a bit - then getting a 3cc fill... does this mean you have decent restriction??? (hopefully?)
-
Hi Bright! I remember you!!! Glad to see you. Wow - 92 pounds? That is awesome!!! Hurry and post some recent pics - we wanne see that hot new bod you have!
-
I think its called Epilite... anyone had this done??? Im checking into it for facial hair but Im a wee bit nervous. Its a little expensive too. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything about it
-
What an awesome feeling! Big ((hugs)) of excitement - to you!!!
-
Thank you - and Merry Christmas to you too! God bless.

I didnt read all of your blog, but I did read some of it. This caught my eye. Among daily weighers, only 39 percent regained 5 pounds or more, but 68 percent of those who weighed themselves less frequently did. "You're more likely to catch small changes in body weight" if checking weight daily, Wing said. "It's much easier to get back on track if you've just gained a pound or two." Regarding a regular weight check - How true! Its when Im not eating right when I avoid the scale. Although Im not as obsessed about what the scale says as much as I was in the beginning. At this point, I weigh about 3 times a week. I think thats "regular" enough!

90 pounds??? My jaw dropped. And since May??? goodness, girl. Thats amazing! (((Im with Kathy - you must be keeping something from us. (LOL) ))) Oh, and WELCOME to LBT!

Possible Clothing Swap for Texas LBTs...
paula replied to banded_for_life's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Keri, Where in Texas are you located? (I guess I could just look on the locator map that Pam started... duuhhh) Im in SW La and I have several 18's. If we are close enough, Ill be there! -
Merry Christmas everyone! Eileen - what a beautiful Nativity scene. It reminds me of the Max Lucado book I read my kids lastnight - The Crippled Lamb. Anyone read it before? that book is filled with wonderful fuzzy Christmas feelings. God bless all of you.

Penni, you are so darn nice! What a wonderful friend! Your post warmed my heart. Lisa, without going back and re-reading everything, did you say your local pcp ordered the endo? And what about removal... who's the surgeon? Oh and Girl, if I had mine removed, I KNOW I couldnt keep from eating. So, GO DELARLA!!! I could pm you and ask this, but i feel others may want to know as well. What about band removal/DS at the same time? Is this a possibility for some?

Jini, When we get a "fill", the stomach is squeezed a bit more - and a bit of swelling usually occurs from this procedure. Most doctors require us to have liquids for the first 24 hours, then soft food for the day after that - just so we dont harm anything. Repeating what Betty said earlier - the patient needs to ask their surgeon about post fill diets - each doc has their own rules!
