    Annoyed with hubby

(my opinion) Go for the state option. Even though -at this point- going to France is something you can fit into the budget, many of us NEVER consider problems that tend to arise post banding. A slipped band, port problems, leaks in the tubing - and many other things that could go wrong *may* lead to a home cash crunch! Ive always said, Lap banding is much more expensive then what I initially bargined for! So, my fight would be to figure out HOW I could find out what number I am on the state's list.... then go from there.

3 weeks post op and new to the forum

Hi SkinnyMinny ~ (love the name) There is a wonderful food list somewhere around this place... it gives food ideas that will help you overcome -dramatic- cravings and not feel like youve blown the first month! Hang in there Baby! Youre gonna make it - I promise!

    Home Treadmill VS Fitness Club

Thanks Yall! Im still undecided. Although as ironical as it seems, lastnight Marcus (my 10 yr old) went to a friends house. They had just bought a second hand TREADMILL. Marcus and his friend spent most of the time playing on it (walking and running). He thought that was the neatest thing - that he could monitor HOW far he ran!!!! He said, "Mom, I ran 2 and a half miles. Phew - I WAS THIRSTY!" This makes the pendulum lean FAAAAAR to the treadmill side. They are just SO BIG. Take up SO MUCH room. ??? Betty, walking in the neighborhood for free is the option I have right now - and I dont do it! See, the deal is - I MUST spend money to lose weight/exercise. Its not legitimate unless I pass the greens. (this is what hubby thinks) The reason I asked this question is to find out how many have puchased exercise equipment and continued using it after 3 months. Thank everyone!

    Hi and WELCOME!

    Hello There

Joh, You have ANY idea how FAST a year goes by? Yesterday I was wrapping Christmas presents, and today my kids are singing, "Here comes Peter Cotten Tail". Just take it one day at a time. Days turn into weeks... turns into months - then BAM! Its time. Just do lots of reading on LBT so nothing is a shock for you. Good luck - and God bless!

Eating chips and dip in bed

Megan - you get the LBT high-five for this one! Honestly Girl - you did some good headwork PLUS you told US about it which makes US (me) think a little more about old habits/new habits! WTG!

    Cushing's

Glad you gave us something to read. I was one of those that needed this info. Getting this properly treated means that you should lose weight on you own?

    American Idol

Yep! I thought so too - but a lot of what Ryan Seacrest has said in the past years is kinda... mean! So, whats new?! Brenna is gone! woohoo.... you are right Drewslou and Mary - NO class and Tacky!!!! Also - I am SO glad to see David aka Frank Sinatra - giving farewell! I did NOT like his lack of emotions, lack of empression, lack of talent, so much lacking of something. I thought Sway was a MUCH better singer then cutie pie Kevin. America thinks he's "so cute" - thats why he's here for another week.

Do you have a treadmill at home?

So here's the million dollar question.... (not even sure if this goes under this thread or not) buy a $500, $600, $700... thousand dollar walking machine that takes up as much room as a love seat, that Im gonna fight with the kids to use, AND not sure how long will I use this expensive thing before I get burned out with it. Its all about convience - and I like that idea. I can do it rain or shine. Ugly or pretty. Night or day. Kids are home. Im home. Everybody's happy (well, maybe). Flip side of the coin... buy a membership to the local fitness club. One time fee (lots cheaper then the hundreds spent on ONE machine) and have tons of aerobic classes to chose from, and other machines to try - PLUS a personal trainer is in house during open hours (not that this impresses me -I just thought it may impress someone else). And the biggie - they provide child care while the parents "do their thang". Which is OK - but another place where the kids are going to have to be under someone else's care. At home, they are in their enviroment. I dont know y'all. Please help.

    Back home

Yeahhh, Wheetsin ~ WELCOME to the other side! Dont forget to take a picture of yourself, so you can have it to compare an "after" with!
  15. Jen, I remember feeling this after I had my 2 fills. Went away after a week or 2. Nothing like 5 or 6 weeks... that could drive someone insane - feeling like they are always being choked! Come to think of it, I dont know if it ever went away - or if I just got used to it.... ??? :phanvan

    American Idol

Kim, Hicks did a Lionel Richie song. I thought he did OK. NOT his best - certainly not like the 3 hits we downloaded. But it was better then some of the others. Chris was the best. And thats an honest opinion. He did something heavy - never heard it before. Maybe someone else can tell us. Bucky was pretty good too - he did a Garth Brooks song. regarding the Frank Sinatra guy (David?)- did any of you notice that when the judges were talking to him he was absolutely motionless. No smile, no words ("thank you"'s), no nods of acknowledgment. weird. just plain weird.

    Please Help! Son With Behavior Issues;

Schel, ANYTIME I have problems with my kids regarding school - I talk to: 1. the teacher 2. school counsler. These people see my child MORE then I do. His teacher should give you a better idea if ADD is what he has. Does he daydream alot? Thats a BIG indicator. Herbal meds - yes! Ive heard good things about Focus. One Ive used is called Attentive Child by Source Natural. Definately would recommend this one.... Good luck!

    American Idol

Lisa - I was wondering where youve been! This is serious business here. Chris was -finger licking good- tonight!!!! His best yet. I love his humility. My prediction: Frank Sinatra and Cutie pie Kevin is going home.

    Food Commericals...

awe... ((hugs)) I guess Im at a point where Im not even paying attention to those things(food advertising). You'll get that way too - I promise! What about changing the tv on commercials? just a thought.

    American Idol

LOL! Chris looks like a tea drinker! Strawarts, I agree about Paris. I was disappointed in her too - actually her AND Katharine. But at least Katharine acknowledged that she chose the wrong song. Brenna's gone bye-bye! There is NO ONE in America that likes her. Mandesa WAS the best. I got chills, tears in my eyes when she sang.... and yet the judges were like, "yeah, that was good, but I think you can do better." And she nodded when they were telling her this - like she knew she COULD do better.
  22. :welcome2: Hi Teasie! Where in La. are you? Im down here in Lake Charles. Glad to see other Louisiana folks around here. If you need anything, just ask. WELCOME!

    American Idol

Has everyone had the chance to watch the girls yet? Mandesa was wonderful. She gave me chills. I think Kelly Pickler did really good too.

    My 2nd fill story

Heather, Im confused. When you went for this fill, how much did you have in your band? How much did he add? And good for you for not leaving his office till you had the right level of restriction! Avoiding that rollercoaster of fills/unfills is actually healthier for your band.
