Specific medications and brands can alter our life span. Especially the different heart meds. And regarding the church question; Ive just read where those that have some type of daily/weekly devotion's can gain a different out look on situations. This *possibly* resulting in lower stress levels, meaning less likely for heart problems... get the picture? On the other hand, maybe it IS a survey. ??? But I liked the final result that was emailed to me giving me a list of specific Vitamins to take for stomach problems; for replacing certain veggies that I dont consume; even gave me different cardio exercises to start doing (since I have a family history -mother- of heart problems) that would strengthen my heart that would add a longer time on this earth. Thanks everyone for the feed back. It was kinda neat reading my results. Better then any doctor exam Ive ever had!

ahhh - nope! Doesnt look good enough for me to give you a free & clear pass. I didnt like it on the 10th - and even though it looks a weeeee (and I do mean tee-tiny) bit smaller and less red today, I still dont like the way it looks. Did the doctor say it was staphe?

paula replied to Cheri's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Cheri, Love the title. :biggrin1: :biggrin1: Congrat's on losing your child... LOL. ((I feel funny saying that. ha!) Hope that everytime you pick him up - you breath a sigh of relief! :clap2: -
awe, I certainly remember those feelings! Just take it one day at a time. Itll be here before you know. Hey - our starting stats are nearly the same! Im 5'5, and started at 248. Ill have to post a current picture of myself so you can see what 180ish will look like. (((At this point Im able to wear most size 12 pants depending on the brand. And since I have big bazoomba - my shirt size is a xl -or a 1x.))) So, 185 and you should be in a 12/xl too. :biggrin1:

food finds! what are you eatin and LOVIN?!?!
paula replied to shellyj.'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
AWESOME thread idea! ok so no secret I LOVE FOOD! meeeee too Michelle. And my scale shows it. Lately this has been my regular pick-up at Walmart: Dannon carb control yogurt - 60 cal's per cup/ 3 nt carbs (It comes in a 4 pk - I usually eat at least 2 - sometimes all 4) My other regular's are baaaaaad news - so Im not going to list em! :biggrin1: -
Kim - they are getting SO cute! Marcus said they looked like ground hogs, LOL. Looking at the first picture of how the momma bunny makes a nest out of her fur for her babies... it makes me sit in awe at the instincts of "mothering". Neat how all female animals know how to nest their babies?! Kinda deep - did I make sense with this?

Crystal, If I could ever take myself serious enough - I wanna learn to belly dance. I promise to God this is truth! What kind of clothes do you wear - to learn it?

Not that Im into saving the seals (even though its a worthy cause) - I wanted to comment on this statement you made. This global warming thing is scareing the crapola out of me. Maybe its cause I live, oh -about 30 miles DIRECTLY from the Gulf of Mexico. With coastal erosion and global warming - Im thinking that my kids will -sooner or later- have to visit their "home town" under Water - like the movie Water World. I realize that Im just little ole Paula - and there is really nothing BIG that I can do about it. But Im just commenting that I -too- am quite concerned about the effects of global warming.

:bump: :bump: :bump: What are the problems that you are having? I remember Darcy/Nightingale2U has had troubles with fills. Also - Kellymoos (moderator & recently unbanded), Alexandra (also a moderator).... these are the ones that come to my immediate attention. Im bumping this thread because there are other older bandsters that have had problems with their level of fills. Maybe they will see this thread and add to it?

Michelle, Just curious - did your doc prescribe you any meds (like prilosec) after band removal? (for short or long term use) When I had an stomach ulcer (years back) MY stomach HURT. Constant dull ache - and when I ate something that was a no-no, I had diarrhea - and/or the stomach pain increased. Back then (1992) Prilosec was the best on the market - and thats what he prescribed. I was better in no time. Anyway, isnt an erosion similear to a stomach ulcer?

Pre-Op Liquid Diet - does everyone have to do this?
paula replied to Gettinghealthy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Gettinghealthy, From what I remember - anyone that was OVER 250 pounds should have a pre-op diet. They say that the diet lessed the fat around the liver - making the surgery an overall easier experience.... for both, surgeon and patient. -
Harley Nana recommended these to me - and they could be considered a mushy... those Reeses choc. Peanut Butter eggs. Definately a mushy food. :biggrin1: :biggrin1: hehehe - sorry! :speechles Dont worry, Chriselda, its just another day. The world is what has made this day one of the biggest feasting days on our calender! Try not to center this day around the family's feast - but on spending good time together. The canned soups will bring the salty for you, and try having yogurt for your sweet.

AMEN! All I keep thinking about it Chris's wife and kids - home alone :uwelcome: . I wonder if they knew what they were getting themselves into. And how are they getting financial support if the breadwinner is in "Hollywood" for 4 or 5 months, singing weekly for America? Does the show pick up their mortgage note? (LOL - yeah, right!) But there is/was Bucky, Elliot and Chris - all married - with families to support. Anybody else think of this kind of stuff?

j.s., please tell us more about your brother. Has he managed to keep the weight off? Michelle, I read where Lisa said that HER stomach is acting crazy too. Gosh y'all, what next? :phanvan

Bye Bye Bucky. Bottom 3 were Ace, Elliot and Bucky. Got home just in time to see who was eliminated - only thing I cared about! Kim, I cant believe you didnt think Taylor was great last night? im shocked. Janet, I agree about Katharine going a step down - and the BAND not recognizing it... duh! Were'nt they there to make the singers sound their best! I dunno - Queen hasnt ever been my "thing". Freddie's teeth - something about em bothered me. And yes! the wardrobe people went a little overboard on the black. ((((I thought I as the only one that noticed that)))) Mikey, wow. You know youre stuff! Glad Im not the only one that notices Chris's voice. I asked my Mike (also singer but not a professional like you :Banane04: ) if Chris made it do that OR if it was natural (the vibrato shakey sound). He said it depends - could be both? hmmm ...and I see you are as equally fond of Ms. Pickler as the majority of us. :biggrin1: Elizabethsew, WELCOME to the AI thread! I cracked up when I read this, I didnt like the way she looked either... but then, i dont really lcare for her in general. Cindy, you cracked me up too - Now that you say it, I see it too! LOL - too funny! Whats the theme for next week?
