    I need a shoulder

Hi Mia, Im thinking that you havent felt the effects of a decent level of restriction. If you can still eat those breads, then chances are - you need another fill. OR - the fill you have received hasnt 'kick in' yet. Sometimes it can take 4 weeks for us to notice restriction (have no idea why this happens - but Im one that has experienced this). Try calling your surgeon and ask his office for thier opinion, k?

    Pauline

Hey Pauline, WELCOME to LBT. I agree with Alex. Try giving your surgeon a chance. Sometimes just making the special trip to see him will re-motivate you. Getting with other bandsters and hearing their eating tips and sharing their stories can also help. Do you have a local live support group that you can attend? You may want to call your surgeon and ask if they have one in your area. ((hugs)) I know its hard, but you CAN do it!

    Healthy vacation restaurant

I dont mind feeding the family Quizno's. I feel like its pretty healthy - better then Bk or McD's - and they have kids meals for the little ones. I ususally eat the cheese & broc. soup/chili or the Road Ranch salad ?? (has roast beef & melted cheese poured over it) - very delish. Ive realized that when we travel, not to stock pile junk food in the van. Its just as easy to buy trail mix, mixed nuts, fruits & veggie. And if they want junk then we'll buy a personal size bag of something when we stop for gas. Its hard to get a family to eat healthy on the road - especially when Dad's a big BIG big junk food junkie !

    My big NSV!! (pictures)

awe Diane, This post made me smile ~ BIG BIG smiles! My only natural sister was tragically killed in a auto accident 18 years ago... . SO I completely envy you on the 9 siblings (like Myra's post). And I love your mom. She looks so cozy and loving. I bet she'll get a kick out of knowing that her picture is posted for millions to see!! Isnt it funny how losing weight changes SOOO many things about us (and the people around us). Physical, mental, social.... Youre a wonderful inspiration to all of your sisters (and to us). :clap2:
  7. Hi Nana! Late last summer (August) I found 2 really REALLY cool swim suits (1 piece) on the clearance racks at JCPenny's. Had the sleek tummy hiding panal - made curves happen in places I hadnt EVER seen curves! The original prices of each of these suits were around $70 buck-a-roos. But I got'em for about $25. I woulve paid full price for atleast one. They are super slenderizing. And I feel totally comfortable in wearing these at the public pools/water parks. On the other hand, I bought a cheap-o suit from Walmart. After a month of use - it stretched out, faded, didnt hold things in the right places..... :nono: yuck :P SO! For those of us that need special attention to certain places on the body (stomach, hips, boobs) - DONT GO CHEAP! Like everything else ~~~ You pay for what you get!!!
  8. oh no! I just posted on the 'other' thread - wishing you a well recovery. So glad to find that you had already checked in. Ok, so now you can take a deep breath and pick-up where you left off! What a wonderful reason to smile about! :biggrin1:

    Do you tan?

adding to Photonut's response ~ from what I remember, the bulbs in the stand up beds are farther away from your skin - which makes you less likely to burn. ??? I only used the stand up beds for getting the places that the bed couldnt get. The bed was my main target - but the booth happened about once a week. And regarding how long would it take before you noticed a tan... I would think maybe 4 (12 minutes???) sessions (gosh, I sound like one of those young girls that work at the tanning shop) and you should see a change. Jess, youve never been to a tanning bed???? (duhh, its pretty obvious Paula)

    Do you tan?

Hi Jessie, Im a Sun Worshiper! *waving my hand* I used to do the tanning beds, but I noticed tons of little RED dots (freckles??) would appear after each session - so that scared the crapola out of me. Now I just do the REAL thing. I suggest you try what works for you. You may want to use the tanning beds just to knock off the shine, THEN use the nautral sun for a deeper longer lasting tan. Some go to the beds only to even out their Natural sun tan (like under the arms and between thighs) Ive -also- used the bottle tan for my legs *ONLY* (I used the light tone, so it wasnt a drastic color change from top to bottom) and it pacifies me for some time. *shrugs shoulders* Sun is good. Sun is bad. Basically EVERYTHING is. But for me, the sun gives me a Vitamin that makes me feel better. It lifts my mood, relaxes me, PLUS I physically look better afterward. Kinda like what sex does for guys, sun does for me. :Banane13: Just finding the right tan for you is the key!

Hey Pam, Thanks for the update. I took both the spray and the pill - but neither seemed to do anything. Almost like a placebo, you know? What brands did you buy?

Would I get the Band again?

WHAT?!?!?! Why are you gonna TRY to lose weight BEFORE seeing your WEIGHTLOSS Surgeon? This isnt making sense to me! Im thinking he needs to see you in this state. If you get 'some weight off' he may think you have this all figured out and NOT encourage more weightloss sugery. ok, time for Dawg's wet fish slap! Please keep the June appt. Please?

    American Idol

America is in shock. I am in shock. LBT is in shock. And... Chis is in shock. He thought is was going to be Katharine to to leave. His look of complete surprise was very obvious; almost like he wanted Ryan to repeat it. On another note, what a horrible emotional rollercoaster for those that Simon gives negative cuts too. Its really unfair. Katharine was a complete nervous wreck tonight. *sigh* Only 3 more! What are we gonna do when AI is over??

    Is this my worst nightmare....YES!

Am I missing something? From this line, it looks like the reflux is under control? If so, then WHY the 6 week deadline? Did he take you off the reflux med? I would think that band removal is LAST resort for a reflux cure. Doctors dont like doing this any more then WE do. Just hang in there. Im trying hard to remember if Ive read where an unfill DIDNT help reflux issues. Usually this takes care of the problem - immediately. Without the need for unbanding. Dont worry till you NEED to. ((hugs))

    What are your Summer plans?

Amy, does the word 'Hurricane' frighten you in any way? We are having our annual family 'togetherness' on Memorial day. Mikes parents have a big family renuinion every year on this day. Its very nice; but the 2 days of traveling with fighting kids, high cost of gas prices, finding a replacement for my small job - is making me reconsider if this is something we NEED to attend this year. Our summers are usually filled with lots of sun and Water. Oh, and lots of 'bonding'.

Lap band while having crohn's dz

My sister is 5'7 - approx 325 and SHE has crohns too. I asked my surgeon about her getting the band with this disease ~ and he said NO. I remember this issue came up not long ago. Have you tried looking around the LBT storage files (under the search title) to bring up forgotten info? Good luck. And if you find anything worth reading, please share.
