A BIG ((hug)) to start with. Ive been wondering about you and this appointment. Thanks for giving us an update. 2 Questions: (maybe 3) 1. Did you discuss your fears of the RnY with him? ...and what did he say? 2. Why did he think you would benefit more with the RnY then the sleeve (Im asking all of this for personal reasons - plus Im nosey. But you know this already) I see myself in you in SOOO many ways. So if Im ever de-banded, Im glad to know Ive got footprints to follow. Know what Sis? You are going to make the right decision - regardless on what you decide. Im gonna put you on the prayer list.

Me! Everytime I drink ANY alcohol my stomach burns - and eventually I PB. ALSO - I have reflux that night... just from a couple of sips of hubby's beer!!! (((and I LOOOOVE beer - or I used to) Even though I have this response, I still seem to "test" myself about every 2 or 3 months. Guess Im thinking Ill eventually "out grow" it. No such luck!

Hi Wendy! WELCOME to LBT. Spiegel was my surgeon as well. I think he's a great surgeon - not much for personality though. Just make sure YOU keep good contact with your insurance company. Seems like things get lost getting from his office to the insurance comp which results in a *v e r y* slow approval process. Good luck!

Paul, in my initial post, I wrote (then deleted) that it seemed like an Amway type of thing. I deleted b/c I didnt want to offend any Amway members. But yeah, thats what I was thinking - the pyramid type of marketing/money making/getting people under you - stuff. I dont like that - Not my thing. Amen Kathy! Guess this is why I never liked this type of thing. Im nOt a good salesman - too honest. And for everyone else - NO! Im NOT looking for vitamins/herbs/mineral suppliments. Im happy doing my own thing. I was just worried that I was missing out on something....

Hi tee, and :welcome: to LBT. The food stages are a little hard in the beginning, but soon you will start eating real food - and things will be better, we promise. :biggrin1:

yep! Youre in the club now. Its kinda like a negative reinforcement to do the right thing while eating. Although its kinda late to tell you this now, but - after a 'PB' try sticking to liquids for a while. It gives our esophagus time to heal. Welcome to the PB club.:biggrin1: -
Food dreams! OMG.. crazy! (food ment.)
paula replied to DonnaMarie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Donna Marie (Hey - thats my MIL's name) Guess what? Our band dates are the same! July 5th - but 2 years ago for me. So, WELCOME to the bandwagon! YES! After I was banded, I remember having dreams of eating. I remember waking myself up from chewing and swallowing. Thankfully this phase didnt last long. Once you begin the tastier - more textured foods, it willl get better. Good luck! -
*This is definately NOT a stupid question.* Im thinking 4 weeks too. This question has been asked around here before. Try doing a search to see what others have said in the past. or... you could always call your surgeon and get it straight from the horses mouth. If you decide to go swimming and wear your new slim -n- sleek bikini, remember - we want pix :biggrin1:

Hey Shontel, Im just now reading this... How's the foamy throat stuff going? Im a little concerned about the amount of fill you received - it seems like a lot for a second fill. You may be a little over filled - only time will tell. If the foamy stuff continues or symptoms get worst, please get an unfill, k?

 Hi Darcy Hope you had an awesome day! :happybday:

OMG! John, this is HORRIBLE! Did the man ever understand that you were fussing at the dog and not his wife? I think you won the prize for the most adverturous Saturday night! Get well soon!

Hey Kat - locking the towel cabnet is a good one. It reminded me of the time I didnt clean my bathroom after the MANY demands from my parents to do it. Came home late one night to find a pad lock on my bathroom door! The entire bathroom - not just the cabnet - locked tight. *Memories* ((or maybe we're giving ideas??)) And yes, in our house we use our towel more then once.

What have you not done b/c of your weight?
paula replied to Wheetsin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Something that I would NEVER do before weightloss is look at men (not related to me) in the EYES. I would just make eye contact then look away or down or something. But now I make total eye contact with everyone - including men - and I smile. Something about the eye connection thing that has changed for me. Lots of those mentioned above are also different now. -
How funny - but I completely understand! Looks like someone pulled out your air tube - and you deflated. :biggrin1:
-
 WooHoo Mary, GREAT Job! You ARE a real LapBand success. Im gonna keep checking this thread for the updated clothing pix.... just keeping my eye on you, Ms Mary! ((((psst, we LOVE pix :biggrin1:)))
