    Diet coke

I too LOVED diet drinks. Three months down the road Ive gotten a little brave and had a sip or 2 of hubby's. I get a different reaction each time; either I feel like I need to pb, or just let out a huge burp. But my greatest sorrow is the absence of beer! when I try it - it BURNS my stomach, plus the burping thing happens, soooo.... I feel that its a negative re-enforcement to stay away from these things. Ive heard of people leaving the bottle/can open so it can loose some of the carbonation to make it easier to drink.

    Houston Texas

I realized that I needed to be a little more detailed. Im coming from Lake Charles and if anyone wants to ride with me - I certainly dont mind. Ill have to go through Beaumont - so Kellymoos, Ginny....ANYONE???? We can go together! By the way, the Galveston idea is a good one. There is a lot to do around there, like Kema (boardwalk - this place is really neat), Nasa spacecenter... just in case anyone is interested in other areas of interest. Moodygardens is so-so, too pricy! And of coarse there is the beach... Im sure in February they will have lots of us trying to catch the rays!!!!! Actually thats NOT a joke!

    Houston Texas

Lisa, Ive been thinking about this one! Houston is actually a wonderful general meeting area. Lots of us are near there and Houston has tons of things for families: zoo, astroworld, museums, just to mention a few. I think if we get enough input from the Vegas Bash folks and use their wisdom to plan this one - we can possibly have a great Houston Bash as well. I promise to help you plan for this in ANY way. I think January/Feburary would probably be a good time to "aim" for... Oh and we must INSIST that Alexandra and her crew comes along! Hear that Alex???

    Fast Food

Just wondering what/where bandsters eat for "fast food"??? I REALLY like Wendy's Chili - delicious! And also the different salads from McD's and Burger King. But Im in need of other ideas.... Anybody have any other suggestions?

    Fast Food

My kids LOVE the pizza places - and when we go to one, its usually salads for me. But what about speghetti??? If I eat it slow enough it goes down well and thats somthing the pizza places usually serve (and its served quick too) . I COMPLETELY forgot about Taco Bell - and I know that nacho's are an easy thing for some of us to eat... what about the refried Beans?? Something strange has happened lately... Since we mentioned Taco Bell, and Mexican food is LOADED with jalapeno's, I wanted to being this up. I REALLY like - no, LOVE - spicy food! Ive noticed that in the past couple of weeks when I eat something peppered I feel this overwhelming urge to vomit - NOT PB! Eyes Water, chin quivers - the whole nine yards. I guess its easy for some to stay away from the peppers, but guys, thats part of the food in this area (cajun country). And Im sooo immuned to it that I dont even realize when something is spicy until this crap'ola happens! this has JUST started - 3 months down the banded road! Anyone else experience this??? (sorry yall, kinda off the subject for a moment)

    Mushy Food Stage

Hi Jill - WELCOME!! Well, believe it or not, I cant seem to remember what I ate that was actually a "mushy" food. It seems like I went from liquids to solids. For me the "mushy" stuff was about food that was easy for your stomach to digest... baked chicken (small pieces at a time), sweet potatoe, etc. I also had ALOT of popcicles before I got my first fill (Blue Bunny brand has many "no sugar" products) and since I stayed hungry this was a quick fix. Good luck - this phase is almost over!

    One Year Anniversary

Ginger, you are truly an inspiration! One thing I need to commend you on - with your husband's "job", I would STAY stressed out and EAT all of the time. Heck, you lost 70+ pounds with everything youve gone through this past year - goodness girl.... you have this thing nipped in the bud! BIG (((HUGS))) to you for a successful year!!!

    Question...am I weird?

Hi Katie... Well, I'm one that came out of surgery asking the nurse when I could eat! I STAYED hungry - tummy growling like a bear. The only thing that helped me was to have a milk shake (one a day) until I was able to have solids. Even after my first fill I stayed hungry. It wasnt until I started my day with protiens (meat pattie, chicken breast) that I noticed the hunger pains getting better. Good luck!

    Naproxen

Penni, is this found in the Vitamin stores or do you have to get a script for it?

    Naproxen

Here's a good one... I called my surgeon's office today to ask about us taking motrin - his nurse told me, "Just try it and if bothers your stomach and you cant eat then stop taking it." Can you believe this??? Sue, what about celebrex??? Think it will hurt us?

    Liquid Vitamins

Ok Penni, I got some!!! Today was my 4th day taking it and I DID notice a rise in my energy level. Hopefully it will continue rising! I also didnt crave food all day - like I usually do. The taste isnt bad at all. I know alot of folks have a problem with the green color, but it has barley - and thats a BIG cancer fighter - VERY good for the body. So the green color was more of a consolaton for me then disgust. Thanks for sharing this info.!!!

    Naproxen

I am so glad to read this post. I came here tonight to specifically ask about anti-inflam. med's. What about motrin??? The 600mg (and higher) has a coating to protect the stomach. Is it safe to take?

Blessed Energy! Time to go to work!

OMG - Ryan, I even LOL on that one!!! Thats funny. Lisa, Ive been out of the loop for a few days (obviously). Last post I read (and the only one I read that day) was regarding your hubby having trouble with your weight loss. Mike went through that at first (first month). But once I lost a few pounds and my interest in sex increased, he perked up . He's ok now! These pictures are WONDERFUL! Ive been sitting here daydreaming of what I could do in MY kids room. What an inspiration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the heck with your friend that says you spoil your lil' Eva! My thought is that you love your kids so much and want to give them the best - nothing wrong with that! Keep sending the photos - theyre motivating ALL of us!!!!

    The PB from hell!

I JUST came across this thread! Last Tuesday my husband made jambalaya (sp?) for supper. Its a rice, pork and sausage mix. Ive had it at least twice since my band and havent had a problem until NOW. One bite - and *4* four * FOUR* hours (of hell) later it FINALLY passed! I tried several times to pb this bite out, but it was stuck waaaay too well.... the only thing that gave me a little comfort was to lay across my bed on my back and gently massage my port area - which is where the pain was. After it FINALLY passed - my Water gurgled going down (like when you get right after a fill). I had to stay on liquids until next night - everything was obviously swollen. This happened on the second day of my period, so I figured THAT had alot to do with it.
  23. Wiz, What about those that have lost weight in a very short time with the GB??? Ive wondered many times how the body can lose that much weight in such a small time frame.... one friend has lost 76lbs in 4 months... another friend - 160lbs in 8 months. HOW can the body do this????
