OMG - the past couple of days Ive been thinking about getting another fill, just a little T-tiny one (I hate getting a fill). food has been going down too well, UNTIL this afternoon! MaJoR PB!!! Penni, Marie - did you still get YOUR fills even though your bodies were playing restriction tricks with you?
-
one more thing.... I dont think ANY of us were told that we would be hungry post surgery. It was a surprise to us as well Its normal, just hang in there - it gets better once you start eating solids!
-
The ONLY thing that helped MY hunger was a milkshake (from McDonalds). I would limit myself to 1 a day b/c of the calories. It wasnt until I found this site and camped out for a while that I heard the REAL solution was protien shakes.
-
OK, yall twisted my arm.... I guess Ill do it for free too (sigh)
-
Happy HAPPY Birthday Pam.... and thanks for all your WONDERFUL knowledge you share with us. You are a great asset to this site. God Bless ~

The reason I wanted to ask this is because I *thought* I was eating protien bars - but I think they were just breakfast bars - and I found that my weight was VERY slow coming off. So I cut the bars out and lost weight. My mom joined LA weight loss last week and she was telling me how important the "protien bars" are for losing weight. So before I dash to the store and buy more BREAKFAST bars I thought Id ask here first.

Ive always been overweight -top weight was near 300lbs. And MY moment came last February with my hairdresser (while cutting my hair)... the beauty shop was in discussion about the Gastric bypass and how many people they knew that looked great from the surgery. My hairdresser looked at me (I wasnt even in the conversation) and said, "Gosh Paula, if I were YOU - I would have that done in a heartbeat." So, here I am! But banded, not GB.
-
This is a GREAT idea! I remember knowing only 1 other person that had this surgery done prior to mine and she wasnt very helpful. Sooooo, I think this would be great if there was a network of banded folks that could do the above things for those newly banded. Count me in! Funny thing, I JUST found out (about 15 minutes ago) that a WLS doctor in this area will start doing the lap-band on Nov. 1st. He has been doing the GB for a couple of years, but so many of his patients were hesitant with the GB and questioning the lap band - thats what made him look into it. hmmmmm, looks like I might have a job..... think he'll pay me? (lol)

Exercise makes you smaller, not lighter

Congratulations... Something like this always puts me in a good mood (when it happens to me)! Ive BEEN wanting to ask about the personal trainer... hows it going?? -
How long have you been on the patch? IMHO I would give it a month to 6 weeks - enough time for your hormones to level off and then see what happens. Heck, if your having restriction with NO fill, thats a good thing! Everytime Ive ever had a "band" problem or question Ive had to seek help from HERE - or just figure it out on my own. So dont get discouraged if your doc OR pharm. doesnt know what to tell you. Remember, we have an implant... We are special!!!

Star, I am from Lake Charles and Ive never heard about Dr. Hahn in Orange. I agree with the others about large pills... breaking them in half. When I went for my pre-op visits everyone told me that I would have to start crushing pills, or having chewables or liquids. Im at a 1.6 level of restriction and swallow a pill (tylenol) just fine. Of coarse right after surgery AND a fill you MUST have liquids or chewables only.

Ryan and Greg................... You two crack me up!
-
Im kinda going with what Marie suggested. Sinus trouble... although Im not against a visit from Mom. Try blowing your nose (getting graphic) a couple of times then smelling a "good" scent right after the blow.... this usually helps me.
-
Congratulations on your non-scale victory!!!! I think MANY of us will have this same dilemma when we pull out the winter clothes in the next few weeks... at least I hope I do
-
Hey Ryan, this is a great idea! Ill try and remember the friday night date!
-
WOW... 70 pounds in a year! Im so excited for you! Hopefully we can meet soon (Houston bash) - I need all the inspiration you can give. High five to ya!
-
Pam, I agree (even with the fee's) with everything you said. I heard it was 4 to 5 visits at $150 a visit. Supposedly a permanent solution! Do you know if it leaves a red mark where they lasered? Is THAT permanent as well?
-
Hey Penni... just be careful! And know that we are thinking about you!
-
Lisa, what about Marie (new hope) she's in the area too! Leatha hasnt responded yet. If we could find out where everyone is located then we could find a meeting area in the middle.
-
Pam, this may be for you to figure out... but a few years ago me and my cousin got on the phen-fen diet pills. Both lost about 30 pounds in about 3 months... and both started to lose our hair at the same time (month 3). (this is the mystery) We both took this for a four month period. By the end of our 4th month we were shaking in our boots thinking that we were (honestly) gonna go bald, we both have thin hair and could NOT afford the loss. So, we got off the diet pills, started gaining our weight back and our hair quit falling. I dont believe that the anesthesia has caused this... Im going more with the hormone thing.
-
when does the hairloss usually happen? I havent had this problem yet... and cant afford to!
-
Kelly, have you been reading the "Houston Bash" thread??? Hope youre interested, we want you to come!
-
"MAS"... lol, I was thinking more like "Macho And Sexy"........
-
