Hi succeed and Welcome! Where ya from? -
Hi musicman and Welcome! Glad you found us. One question....whats with the name "musicman"??? Do you play anything?
-
Staci, I thought the same thing when I got my band - the band in that area, with the movement could cause slippage. The only instructions my doctor gave were, "NO rough sex for 3 weeks". So? We had "No rough sex for 3 weeks". Actually, weve had NO rough sex in YEARS!!!!! So that wasnt a hard instruction to follow!

Lisa, I never thought of that. Good idea!

Leatha, I was trying to remember what you told us in Galves. about the way a proper bra fit, "custom fitted are usually more pointed, supposedly putting the breast tissue up and in front where it belongs instead of splattered out under your arms and on your back." Thanks, that gives me a better direction of what I need to be looking for. Kelly, Ive lost in both places, around AND cup size (thank God) Ive never had a bra that actually fit correctly OR comfortably. Cup sizes were always too small, so I would have to buy the largest and squeeze everything inside. Therefore, I have NO idea what my actual size was to start with. I have NO problems with getting fitted, but like Sue said, every place fits differently. And Ive noticed that every brand fits differently. And most likely my cup size will still NOT be on the charts.... so again, an improper fit and more squeezing. This is frustrating. I think Ill try the Avenue and/or Lane Bryant. Thanks everyone!

This is exactly what inspired me to have the surgery... my kids, my husband. I already have MORE energy to do things like play basketball in the driveway with my 9yr old, bounce my kids on the trampoline, and the BIGGEST thing for me was when we went to the mountains in November, I was actually able to walk up a very steep and long road with my husband and kids, with the altitude and incline I wouldve NEVER been able to do this before. I commend YOU and ALL the other brave souls that had ENOUGH and decided that it was time to do something about it. Regret happens later if you dont so something about it NOW! Oh, and your family is beautiful!!!!!

OK guys, its Monday morning. I need to get my butt back into high gear. No weight loss, feeling slow and sleepy from all the holiday carbs, eating too much and too often.... I need help! So Im getting back to the basic's - Water intake! I (honestly speaking here) am only drinking about 20 oz's a day - ouch! And I feel it. So TODAY is the day!!!! Ive got my two - 20oz AquaFina water bottles full and Im determined to drink each one - 2 times! So thats 80oz's of water, a little more then 1/2 a gallon. This should be enough to get me started in the right direction. ANYONE else interested in this challenge??? Ive never done a challenge before, so I have no idea on the rules. I just know that I need help.... YOUR help!!!!!!!

Do any of you have problems with cabbage? Ive had it three times in the past month and each time I had problems with it going down. SLOWED my eating down fast! Lisa, I love that stuff too. I can even eat it RAW. Regarding cabbage; we have a very simple way of fixing it (if you like it uncooked too) shred the cabbage into a bowl and sprinkle vinager lightly then add some seasoning to it.... thats it. Like you, years ago I dieted & ate tons of salad and lost weight. I kept a bowl of this cabbage stuff in the fridge and munched on it when I would have the munchies. But ohhhh, the gas!!!!

I wish I had enough of you around here to get together for lunch dates. You are right Leatha, LBT IS different. I hate to ask this question on THIS thread - its waay off topic. But since weve been mentioning it here and there I was wondering if we were going to try another Galveston Bash? I certainly havent changed much (in looks), but I loved the visiting/sharing.

I actually laughed when I read this. Ive seen you in real life - as if YOU need one!!! -
Oh and Lisa, the king cakes that are GOOD usually taste like a giant cinnamin roll with some kind of filling oozing out of the sides like: cream cheese, cherry filling, blueberry cheesecake, CHOCOLATE, vanilla... like I said, YUMMY! And in each cake there is a little plastic baby hidden somewhere inside (too big to swallow though) and our tradition is that the person that gets the piece of cake with the baby has to buy the next king cake.

See, we're good for each other and we're BAD for each other! A real family!
-
WOW... How much weight have you lost since Galveston????? You look FaNtAsTiC. I think its important that you post your age! You look 30 years old! That IS how old you are, right??
-
Oh yes, "FORCED" to buy another one - and I will be "FORCED" to eat it!
-
Marie, do yall have King cakes in Houston? You know its all about finding the baby, and for my 9 yr old he was determined to get the BABY! So he cut the cake into 1 inch strips - but NO BABY!!! I guess the baker forgot to put one.
-
Lisa, you are so right! I give you an A+ for realizing this. I did so-so today, only had 1 small bag of M&M's and got ALL my water in . I even had that empty feeling, you know that feeling when you can tell youve lost. Then Mike came home with a King cake. Its Mardi Gras time, and the King cakes are out - yum yum!!! Just finish with one feast (Christmas) and on to another one (Mardi Gras). Dont have that empty feeling any more! Jamie.... YOU GO! Not only are YOU getting your water in, but you have a friend joining you! Way to go!!!!!!

Lets see... pre-op, everything was right there in the hosp (and yes, I had my surgery at the Doctor's Hosp. too) You have to have a chest x-ray, ekg, bloodwork... I think thats all. Took about 2 hours total. The morning of surgery the nurse anethesis should come to your room and ask tons of questions. The guy that I had was VERY comical, eased the tension. We even wondered if he had already taken a hit on the tubing... if you know what I mean ! Oh yeah, and dont expect to see Spiegel until the day AFTER your surgery. Most of the time the surgeon comes to see you and identifies that you ARE his patient.... not Spiegel! About not telling family, friends, etc..... thats one regret I had. I wish I had not told anyone! My weight loss is around 40 pounds and everyone I see thinks I should be skinny now. Oh and the gas.... WALK! A good friend had the GBP about 2 months before my banding and that was the one thing she instilled in me - when the shoulder pain strikes, go for a walk. Lots of folks take gasx or other med's which is fine too! Good luck!

Tammy, its very important to keep good connections with your ins. company. Everyone's insurance requires different things. Leatha's insurance required her to have both - a phsyc. evaluation AND a dietitian consultation. MY insurance required one OR the other. And only one visit was good enough! (my consultation fee was about $35)
-
I would advise you to call your insurance comp. and ask them about the time limit. Im not sure about YOUR insurance company, but mine was wonderful to work with. I called my ins. comp. nearly DAILY to get up-dates as to if they recieved a fax or if they were waiting for something else that was needed for me to gain approval. In most cases, the ins. company is what makes everything so slow. Good luck!

Look out, Leatha's on the loose!

Welcome home Penni, weve missed you!
