May the Lord bless you and keep you! May He show His Face to you and be gracious to you! And may He look upon you kindly and give you His PEACE! Just remember, God never gives us MORE then we can handle. *We love you both*

So, have you gotten on the scale lately??? (everything has its advantages... even THIS)
-
Franks, Im having trouble understanding your signature. Please explain. It looks like Dow has lost 137 pounds and Deb as lost 77.... is this correct? (Since Oct. 4th?)
-
Thanks Kelly. I 'seized' the moment on that one. BTW.... youve already lost 30 - THIRTY - 30 pounds (I saw it on your ticker). Way to go!!!! Girl, thats fantastic! Jonathan.... the one running in the snow!!! Thats post-card cute!

Pati, I can relate to your post 100%. Remind him that this is only TEMPORARY! Soon enough you will be back at the table. I had to remind my hubby how hard it was to cook & smell all the foods, then fix their plates, and NOT eat any of it. But then he wanted me to sit there and watch THEM eat it.... I dont think so. After I explained it to him, he understood. And I didnt get any help either. When I had my 3 c-sections, he was the best nurse/cook/housekeeper - better then my own mother. But for THIS surgery........ ha! Hang in there! Its just as much of an adjustment for THEM as well as for us!

Here are MY babies.. "Clare" and Philip (my 2yr old). This was taken about a week ago!

Its been 6 months since I was banded; and 6 weeks since my last fill. And finally I *think* Im feeling restriction (thank God), but I need to make sure. Remember, I had a tad bit of problems after this fill and I just want to check and see if this IS normal. here's my symptoms... 1. Im NOT hungry (didnt think I would ever say that) 2. Im eating slow b/c I can feel the bite staying in the pouch for a few seconds before passing through. 3. Im getting fuller MUCH faster. 4. Every so often I feel bubbles coming up (not actual burping) same feeling I had after 1st fill....... restriction? Veteran bandsters, is THIS what its supposed to feel like??? The fact that Im not hungry is a miracle. If this IS restriction, its taken 6 weeks to get here!!!

I thought I would resurect this thread again since I have a question about coffee. Are capucchino's (sp?) ok to drink??? Im sure they are LOADED with carb's/calories, but having one sure gives me a swift kick in the butt (energy). just wondering

Reflux - GastroEsophageal Reflux Disease
paula replied to New Hope's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
What exactly IS Reflux - Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease??? What is going on with the body to cause this? -
Just checking to see if you were better!

Julie, the first 2 weeks are rather 'easy' to have liquids. Its week 3 thats it starts getting hard. Thats when you really have to apply the suggestions that Marie posted earlier. What makes it so hard is not having textured foods (things you chew)... so thats when the popsickle idea and creamed soups helped. Another idea was to eat cushed ice, it gives the mouth something to do. God bless you on your new journey!

Betty, still some restriction, but not as much as last week. And like Michelle said, good restriciton make you not hungry and your not obsessed with food all day. (Just like last week) Oh, WONDERFUL FEELING! Can you imagine... fogetting to eat? But now the obsession is back... I wonder if its normal to gain, lose, gain, lose restriction like this. Im not PMSing, not under any stress... hmmmmmm Whatever it was, I liked it! BTW - Im going to make an appointment with Dr. Chung today.
-
Isnt it a great feeling?
-
Well that was looooong ago, Blossom. Im hungry AGAIN, still some restriction though. scale still hasnt moved.
-
Just checking on ya! When did you start showing symptoms?

Ever have a fill dissipate/dissolve???
paula replied to NancySmiles's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ive been racking my mind to think if my doctor removed all the air fom the tubing before giving me my first fill... and I dont think he did. Michelle, maybe that IS why I "lost" .4cc's. That IS interesting. Thanks for the update. -
(((leatha))) Maybe that trip last week drained you - made you more venerable for this crud. ??? I sure hope that "bug" does not decide to crawl THIS way!

Band Rejection - Answer to Port Problems
paula replied to DeLarla's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Be Careful! We'd rather have a big Lisa then a dead Lisa!!! This sounds kinda morbid, but I think you get the point... Listen to your body! -
Just so I dont gross anyone out.... I ONLY buy the ones that are all beef/no fillers. I hope they are safer/healthier then the 'others'.

There is something in the air...PLEASE HELP!!
paula replied to melissalee's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So sorry to hear of your grandmothers death! When this happens to me (and occasionally it does) I try and remember the last thing I ate before the problems started. IMHO - from experience - sometimes we think that our food has passed through the stoma and all is well. But! There MAY have been something left behind in the pouch that started swelling and causing the stoma to get blocked two, or three hous later. Thus causing the PB effects. Then everything gets swollen and you have MAJOR restriciton. I would recommend going to liquids/soup till tomorow morning.... unless you cant keep anything down. Remember, warm liquids are better then cold right now! -
Michelle, the food is staying in my pouch for a while - longer then any other time before... then I feel it going through. If I stand and walk aound it helps it pass. Leatha, what's sad is that even though my food in-take has been much less since Tuesday, the scale hasnt moved. "I haven't eaten anything except for a handful of grapes and a few Frosted Mini Wheats" Thats all you had to eat yesterday??? Goodness, those 170's will be here in a snap! What about the little bubbles... anyone else have that??
