This is for all of us (Kathy) that have lost our grandparents - and want to share with others how wonderful they were. Lastnight I was listening to my 9yr old read a book called "Thunder Cake'. It was about a girl (the arthur) that went to visit her grandmother and while she was there, a thunderstorm started brewing. Her grandmother realized how scared she was and decided to help her 'overcome' this fear by making a cake (ha! having cake overcomes ALL my fears!) So she and her grandmother went to the barn to get certain ingredients for their cake, to the celler to get other things, then to the garden for something else. Did all of this while the thunder was booming in the sky... Thanks to her grandmothers wisdom, this little girl overcame her fear of thunder. Wonderful little story. (Ill post some of my own stories later)

I just wanted to update my experience.... 2 1/2 weeks later and my chin area is nearly hair free. No black roots either! No redness, no swelling, still a little tender in spots... the good far out weighs the bad. NOW Im excited about this.

Ryan, that was such a beautiful story... wow! Kathy, thats cute! Everytime you visit her grave, you will be reminded of this... sweet story!

Hi Tinkerbell! I love spicy foods too. Right after I was banded, I was able to tolerate them better, now I try to not have things so spicy hot... funny - really spicy hot things make me nauseated. ??? no idea why. Lettuce (salad) is no problem for me. Just chew it well. The skin on tomato's may gt a little sticky going through the stoma, but again - chew well! Who is your surgeon? And when were you banded?

Hi Mr Tink! I am also from Louisiana. Where exactly is Bush? Hope you visit us often... we enjoy the males visit's! BigT... Everyone is right about the F/F's, they are a waste! I eat alot of chili from Wendy's (very nutritious). Also the salads from McD's and Burger King are good too (the ones that have grilled chicken). And yes, Taco Bell has several things to chose from. Just try to chose the fast foods that are better in calories/carb content! Good luck!

My addiction to coffee is starting to catch up with me, so Ive decided to venture on to 'other' things... hot tea's. Could you please help me figure out which ones are better and what each one is used for; like... green tea, black tea, herbal tea - chamomile (sp? Michelle recommends this one for resting). Help me, please?

Green Tea~ it helps 'move' things along... anyone else have this occur?

Hi Copper. I too, was a beer drinker (pre-banding). Just like Greg said, too much discomfort. Every now and then I will take a sip of hubby's... unfortunately I could never handle the carbonation.
