I had my surgery on April 15, 2014, had my first fill 4 weeks later, then had a second fill 2 weeks after that. I have lost 17-18 lbs and I am stuck there. I know I am eating less than I had, but not sure how much I should eat. I can eat a small hamburger patty and cottage cheese, or a small salald. I have had things get stuck, so I am very careful to chew properly. I have not been eating bread, but can eat about anything else. I know I am eating less, but not losing. Ideas? Thanks,

I finally got approval from my ins co and I am hoping to schedule my surgery mid-April. I keep hearing that the sleeve is replacing lap band surgery, bands break, erode, have to be removed, etc I even hear this from the lady in the surgeons office, who had bypass surgery. I see so many on here that have had/are having good luck. I do not want 75% of my stomach removed, that's just me personally. Just not sure why all the negativity.

My date isn't definitely set yet, but I am looking right around that same time. We should be buddies!

I started my lapband process in Sept/Oct. All the information is at the insurance company now, but I just found out today that if you gain any weight in that 4 month period, Aetna does not approve your surgery. I take meds for hypothyroid and during this time things went kind of nutty and my dr had to change my dosage twice, this resulted in an overall again of 3.5 lbs has anyone else had this issue?

I've had my initial appointment, I qualify. Oct 1 I meet with the Psychologist, Oct 8 the Nutritionist and Exercise person. I will meet with them three times before I can schedule my surgery. I am thinking it may be Feb or March. I am very nervous, I hear great success stories and of course everyone has a horror story. I just want to feel better. I am 56, 5'4" and currently weigh 230. I have aching knees, sleep apnea, high BP and cholesterol. I am hoping that with this surgery and exercise, I will feel alot better. Thoughts?
