nymoosic started following HELP! When can I sleep 'normal' again?, I have to be unfilled?, Trying to conceive and fighting my band all the way and and 7 others
-
I hate to even ask this....but did you ever get sick and vomit? If so, did that make the pain go away? I have a similar pain under my left rib cage and have had numerous tests to find out what it is...endoscopy, stomach emptying test, everything. No one can seem to figure it out. I forgot to say after getting pregnant about two years ago (and emptying my band), I had this pain show up in my 9th month. I have not been refilled since and have regained almost all my weight in the process.

I talked to my Dr.'s nurse this morning and she says that the doctor automatically unfills everyone. She's going to double check with him tomorrow but she thinks that's the plan of action. Do I have to do this if I don't want to? I feel great right now. I'm eating well (finally) and don't have any heartburn or anything. What's the harm in continuing?

Band Changes During Pregnancy
nymoosic replied to HeatherO's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I just found out this past week that I am pregnant. Yippee!!! Only 5 weeks so I'm sure things can change, but I've noticed that I'm able to eat more! Very strange. -
Trying to conceive and fighting my band all the way
nymoosic posted a topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Alright, I love my band...I really do. But I want to get myself the healthiest I can and eat all the fruits and veggies that I loved to eat before this thing was put in me. Now I seriously struggle to get a fruit and a vegetable in every day. PLEASE do not tell me to get my band loosened...I don't want to hear that. I will lose all control. I take my vitamins...I drink V8....I snack on veggies...I'm doing everything I can with the limited amount of stomach I have. I just don't think I'm eating enough 'good stuff' to do the trick. I just had my third IUI and if this doesn't do the trick I don't know what I'll do. Thanks for listening to me 'lose it.':frown: -
Vitamin D deficient and anemic. Yikes
nymoosic replied to nymoosic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, they started me on a weekly Vitamin D supplement. Yogurt is very slow for me to go down. I can eat it for a snack over a period of 10-15 minutes or so, but not with a regular meal. -
GREAT job!!!

Vitamin D deficient and anemic...yikes
nymoosic replied to nymoosic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, they are starting me on supplements. I am petrified to be looser. I can still binge on things at times and I don't trust myself to go any looser. I do agree I need to eat more fruits and veggies and stop worrying so much about the protein. (I swear they pound that into your heads pre-surgery!) I just need to make better choices all the way around. Now I need to wrap my head around that. Thanks for the advice. -
I've had my band for a year and the honeymoon is over. I do love my band, but I'm so tired of eating the 'easy' foods. I used to have a pretty well-balanced diet pre-band, but not any more. My nutritionist just called yesterday to say I am severely deficient in vitamin D and I am anemic. I totally know why. I don't eat well anymore. I eat what's easy to eat - carbs. I know I'm not getting the right nutrition because my habits have changed. I used to eat yogurt (calcium and D) with my lunch. Now I can barely get my protein down for lunch. I used to eat more red meat (iron). Now I barely do because it's such a struggle to get down. My weight loss has stalled as a result of all this. I know I need to jump back on the bandwagon but it's so much easier to not fight with my band. Has anyone had the same experience? Any suggestions for more Vit. D/iron-filled food? Help!

10 weeks pregnant with port pain
nymoosic replied to Steph1977's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I'm trying to get pregnant and am curious... Did you have port pain right after surgery? It was almost 6 weeks before I could lie down without pain, so I'm curious if this will bother me down the road. -
Banded & Hoping to get Preg - join in!

I've never felt like I could be healthy and pregnant....until I lost all this weight. Hubby and I are now trying to start a family. At age 38 with blocked fallopian tubes and ovarian cysts this might be a long road. But, I know I'm better off without all that extra weight I've been carrying. Wish me luck!!:frown: -
Unfortunately, I have not seen any improvement in my psoriasis. I have it on my scalp and in my nails quite badly. (I've also been in remission from psoriatic arthritis for over ten years.)

Recovery time for singers having banding?
nymoosic replied to pc201's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not a professional performer but I am an elementary music/vocal teacher. I did notice soreness for the first few days in my throat (from anesthesia) and had quite a bit of port pain for about a month. It did affect how deeply I could breathe, but my experience with my port was not the norm from what I've been told. Good luck!
