I am a 35+ year old mother of two. All throughout childhood I was thin, active, and never struggled with my weight. I was involved with track and field in high school as well as walked/ran weekly in my personal life. The weight issues started with age and a desk job in 2001. From 2001 to 2004, I gained slowly over the years. Pregnant with my first child, I lost some of the baby weight and kept some on. When I was pregnant with my second child, I lost most of the baby weight but was still creeping to a higher number. At 4' 11"-5'0" tall any bit of weight shows. I realized I had to lose the weight. I was only successful for a short time in 2008 when I weighed 145 lbs. From 2009-present, I've gained, lost, and gained more back. A story I'm sure everyone has heard or experienced personally. After going over a 35 BMI and realizing my knee had arthritis that required injections, I knew my weight was affecting my body.
I attended my first doctor appointment and lap-band seminar in June 2013. I've attended the insurance requirements and am approved as of 11/15/2013. My surgery date is scheduled 12/06/2013.
This will be the start of my new life, the old me coming back once and for all.
