What Do You Tell People?
Kyilejackson replied to farmgirl04's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I do not think it is necessary to explain to anybody what you have been up to if your family is aware of it.I know how people can behave at times, but please do not get worked over it.You can inform a few of your close co-workers and later answer people as and when they ask you about it. Try and keep yourself free of all tensions so that you remain in a positive frame of mind through your recovery days. -

Don't you worry yourself sick now....You have not failed. It is not the candy which has been calling you,but your brain playing games.Try and keep your mind away from the candy.I am sure you can do that. You know the right path so you can follow it. Wavering once in a while is excusable.Do away with the candy if you still have it sitting on the table and then start all over again. I am sure everything will be just fine if you stop feeling guilty about it.

Congratulations,You look just great in the picture.Keep it up.The best part is that you are fit and healthy and enjoying it too. Hope you stay like this always.

Poll: Do you let Food sit in your esophagus? Or wash it down with liquids?
Kyilejackson replied to NaNa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Even if the band is placed at different positions for different people,I still feel that drinking a little water or liquid with the food is certainly going to help as it will not only drain the food down into the stomach but also save the esophagus from getting irritated and thus throwing out the food that you have eaten. Also to stop the food to give the dry feeling in the food pipe it is always better to drink liquid along with your food. -

It is nice to know that you are exercising on a regular basis after your lapband surgery.I really do applaud your efforts of trying to stay fit.Age is not a big factor, if you fit and healthy, then age is no bar for doing anything at all. There is just no need to do much of strenuous exercises.walking on a regular basis is good enough exercise in itself, for everyone of us.

Asking your doctor is the best advice I could give you.Counting calories is not the only way.You just have to lose a certain amount of weight and then maintaining it.So best is to follow the instructions given by your doctor and follow them well.

Even folks with normal digestion have a problem with spicy food,so if you are having a problem after the lapband surgery then I think it is pretty normal.Your stomach is going to take time to start to digest the kind of food you like to eat,i.e. spicy food.So give it a little time and all will be fine.
-
Congratulations,This is really great, great as you feel. You really do look great and hope that you continue to look and feel great.Your posts are going to give big hope to people who need advice for the lapband surgery in the future.

It is really great to see you so happy with your lapband surgery.I am glad that you have lost so much of weight and are looking awesome.I sincerely hope that you have a healthy and happy life always. -
I would first and foremost like to give you a single piece of advise and that is to not to be stressed. This will only worsen your condition and you will find that more and more acid is being produced in your stomach and you are having more influx. Many of us have faced this band slippage problem, and it is nothing that cannot be corrected. So be positive and everything will turn out fine for you once you visit a doctor.
-
Hey Millyed, please do not get anxious about the surgery.Everything is going to be absolutely fine. Many of us have gone through the proceedure and are now living quite a normal life.It does take a little time to settle but then you will not regret your decision.Be of positive frame of mind and all will turn out great.Good luck.
