    Any Feb 21 Sleevers?

I was sleeved on Feb 20, 2013 and its been a year yesterday, starting weight 294, surgery weight 270, current weight 180, 10lbs from doctors goal of 170. Total weight lost 114lbs.
  3. So here I am almost 7months out and down to 188, my goal is 175. Its getting harder to lose the weight but feel good that I am where I am. If I don't lose anymore I am still a happy camper.

    Attention February 2013 Sleeve Buddies!

I was sleeved on Feb 20, 2013 it went really well no problems what so ever. I weighed 294 when I started and on my surgery date weighed 270. I have since lost close to 40 lbs with pre weight 65lbs. I am happy with my sleeve and determined to get to my goal of 175, Right now I am 227 so I have roughly 52 lbs to lose. Wish me luck!

    How did they close you?

I go glued together, staples on the inside and then the entry wounds were glued shut. no problems so far. I am in love with my sleeve.

Places to get liquid protein samples

I like Body Fortress Whey Isolate Chocolate, its the best I have tried so far. EAS was okay but has a bland chocolate taste that leaves a weird after taste. I also get protein from Cottage Cheese and Yogurt. Next week I can add pureed meats and vegetables, So I can change it up some. This is the easiest thing I have ever did diet wise. The sleeve is absolutely amazing!
  7. I was sleeved on 2/20 and lost 10lbs my first 6 days, since then the last few days I find my self gaining and I was told it may be water weight or poop problem (which is what I think) so I am just sticking with it. It took years to put it on and it will take eating right and smart to get it off a little at a time. Time is all I have so I will go for it!
  8. I dropped 10lbs in my first 6 days after surgery and the last 3 days I am gaining again up 3 lbs, I've been told it could be water weight or if you haven't had a bowel movement. I have the bm problem and I hope it gets better!
  9. I had my sleeve surgery on Feb 20th and got out of the hospital the very next day. I haven't had any pain or problems drinking fluids or walking. I am in love with my surgery and my sleeve. My Doctor told me I might not get any help for my diabetes but since the surgery I have only had 2 units of insulin and now its 2 days straight without any meds for diabetes. Post Op I shot 100 units a day with 2 1000mg of Metphormin. Makes my head whirl knowing I am not having to shoot up or take a pill. Amazing grace!
  10. I can hardly believe this is happening to me after being a diabetic for 13 years and now it may be gone the thought is mind boggeling!
  11. Well I had my surgery on February 20, 2013. Surgery was a great success, woke up in minimal pain. Used my handy little pump whenever I felt discomfort. Couldn't sleep in the hospital due to being checked on and woken every hour. I was discharged the following day and have tolerated water and broth quite well. This morning I woke up and made my Protein shake first thing to get down and started drinking water. Little bit of soreness but hardly worth taking pain medicine for. Took my Multivitamin and B-12, B-1 and antacid the Doctor prescribed. Now I am doing a bit of walking around the house. I love my sleeve and am so thankful I have no complaints! oh and btw, I have not had any insulin since yesterday morning 2 units and that's all. I was taking 100 units of insulin per day 50 in the am and 50 in the pm previous to my surgery. I am praying that this is an end to my diabetes, any one else out there like this?

    Cost of post op diet?

This is a life style change people! You have to give and take a little to get a lot, all the cost for vitamins and food costs are worth it if your going to lose weight and become a healthier individual. I for one feel giving up on potato chips, fast food and sweets, while trading them for vitamins, protein mixes and healthier foods is a much better deal. Remember, you have to break a few eggs to get a little mayonaise!
