I am 58 years old and I have decided to have the gastric sleeve. I want to be normal and weigh 143 lbs and be able to walk with out running out of breath or having to rest to catch my breath. I want to live the rest of my life knowing I accomplished my goal to slim down and beat dieting once and for all. I am ready to embrace this life changing decision. I lost my 21yr old son in 2000 and did not take it very well, had some mental health issues, put on medication and came around to a good state of mind in 2003. Gained weight with the medicine. I Worked until my husband got sick in 2006, when he was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. He struggled with Chemo had one week vacation in Disneyland, where he had a wonderful time. He lost his battle with cancer in 2008. I was put on stronger medication which caused me to put on 80lbs,of weight. I have struggled to take off some of this weight with no luck. I know with the sleeve I will finally come around and really lose weight and my goal is 143lbs. I have an orientation meeting on 10/16 (4 hrs long) and another appt on 10/25 with a NP. So my journey is becoming my reality!
