Wow that was an awesome read. I had my surgery hear in the states and didnt have to go the other route. But I sure as hell wouldve appreciated someone like you. When you give you give from the heart and you wear it on your sleeve. Sad how so many people are motived by money which is the real reason this site exist. If your words are true you and your wife will be blessed beyond belief. Karma is real. Kudo's -

I need Advice!
Sleeve Goddess replied to wannabaloser's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is by far the best response I've read about this question. "Obesity is a disease" and sometimes it's hereditary. Most of the women in my family from various generations are obese. As parents we know our children better than anyone else and only you can advocate for her. Being sleeved does not guarantee that the bad eating habits will go away. You really have to work at developing better eating habits and this is where counseling will really help your daughter. Good luck to you both and You re in my prayers. You are an awesome mom and advocate for your daughter. -
All i want right now....

At eight days probably head hunger/craving. Being sleeved doesn't cure your craving for the things you love. -
Anyone else hate the protein shakes?
Sleeve Goddess replied to reenalee's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Hate is not a strong enough word to describe how I feel about protien shakes at this point in my life. My stomach can't tolerate them a at all. They make me nasuea and when I drank on an empty stomach they never stay down. When I was drinking them I enjoyed the premier chocolate flavor I got from costco. -
I'm two months post op and still experiencing nausea at various time of the day. I recently noticed that its worse when My stomach is empty (when I get hungry). Has anybody else experienced this or is it all in my head?

Problems drinking water...
Sleeve Goddess replied to itsabouttime2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm eight weeks post op and have the same problem. Ice cold water with a squeeze of lemon or lime works for me. My doctor also recommend prolisec to help with my ongoing nausea. -

Excessive Tiredness ......Help!
Sleeve Goddess posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved May 8th of this year and in addition to constant nausea I'm now excessively fatigued. I'm taking my vitamins as recommended which includes a multivitamin, iron, b12, and calcium citrate. I get at least 9 hours of sleep but still feel tired all the time. Things are so bad that I can't do any house or yard work. Going up and down the steps to get water is exhausting. I've went back to work two weeks after surgery and in the middle of the day I have to close my door just to lay down. I'm not sure if my tiredness is because I'm not getting enough protein. My new stomach diesnt like chicken (slight vegan). I drink atleast 46oz of water each day. Has anyone else experience this, how did you resolve the issue? I really need help. -
Excessive Tiredness ......Help!
Sleeve Goddess replied to Sleeve Goddess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks all I really appreciate it. It's nice to know I'm not alone. I'm sure that I'm not getting any where close to the recommended amount of protien. This has been really harder than expected. -
Imma guess 120"s either wy you look awesome.

One thing we all have learned is that no two sleeves are a like. What works for you may not work for me and vice versus. I had my surgery May 8 and didn't have any complications or pain. I stayed two nights in the hospital and was feeling awesome. Prior to my surgery I had invested in several of the pretty plastic cups with straws. Day four post op and I was in the most unbearable pain ever. The pain was so bad that my husband called the after hours number for the doctor. Based on my symptoms they called me in some meds for muscle spasms. The meds worked fine. I woke up the next day feeling back to normal til the pains started again. Since the dr office was open they asked me to come in. They had me take some X-rays to check things out and everything was fine. The dr grilled me on everything I was drinking and asked what had I changed since leaving the hospital. I told him about my cup and drinking from a straw. He told me to stay away from them as they are more than likely allowing excessive air in my stomach and causing the contraction like pain. To this day I will not drink anything with a straw. Just my experience..

I'm six weeks post op and don't exercise. My food intake is so low my doc told me not to. I do really need to do something as my thighs look like bags of cottage cheese. I really use to love working out years ago but after and accident I can't seem to get back into a groove. I

Inflammation may be the reason for your pain as it was for me for the first two weeks. As the swelling goes down it will get better. Make sure you get sugar free frozen Popsicles theybwereva life saver. I was able to stay hydrated and eat them slow at the same time.

Break A Habit?
Sleeve Goddess replied to Sleeve Goddess's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The sleeve will having you tapping in to power that you didn't even realize you had. -
Breaking a bad habit is really hard. In order to be successful with a new stomach we all must break old habit. I have been a grazer my whole life. I can remember as a kid how I was forced to sit at the dinner table for hours until I finished all my food. The rules of the sleeve limits you to three meals a day which has been painful for me. While at work I'm fine but at home has been more challenging. Ive started blending crystal light and ice in a blending and eating with a spoon to satisfy my need to graze. What habit has been the hardest for you to break and how did you cope with making the change?
