i believe that's its a personal choice for WLS of any kind. when i went into this I knew one thing...if i didn't change my weight i would shorten my lifespan...I have grandkids that i want to see for as long as God will allow me too and not because of my struggle with being overweight. When i looked into the possibilities of WLS i think the one thing that made me decide to do the banding was the fact the it did not involve cutting up my stomach to help me loose weight. Statistics are iffy at most. they do a study and publish results based on a % and not the majority. I looked at banding this way. They would not be cutting up my stomach which is something that cannot be reversed. and banding is reversible. The time under anesthesia is less which lowers the chance for complications. I am not banded yet, i am looking for that around feb/march of 2014 but i am preparing myself for this journey each and everyday. If the band doesn't work out in the long run, well at least i have other options. But if i chop up my stomach then the future will be a lot bleaker as for where i can go from there. I admire your tenacity for wanting to think things through. Just remember that statistics are what they are. and not always what they should be. Good luck in your decision and your journey.

well it's my story and i'm sticking to it..... i have been around a long time fixing to hit the "55" on the 20th.... i have seen tiny to OMG as well.... and the in betweens but in all honesty i've had good lovers and bad lovers and some that you just have to ask yourself "what was i thinking".... if you have the right moves to back up what your offering it really doesn't matter about the size or girth even though they are nice attributes to have....... i am more drawn to experience and aspirations to make me wish it never had to end.... It is more of a plus if they can bring you to the brink of orgasm just with their foreplay physical and mental....because that sets up the Big Bang theory for the main event.... lol....so in the end overall it's got to be the overall experience and not just the equipment being used...

well i have been reading this thread since yesterday....i have had a lot of laughs i can say that much.... But I will have to say this... it doesn't really matter of the size it matters with the attitude.... if the guy is just a jump in jump out sort of man then that's what the woman can expect...she'll go away from that episode lacking from it all....If the man has finesse and puts the romance in front of the offering he's more likely to have success... so .... don't fret if the size isn't what you wish it to be.... just remember women are more satisfied with a whole package....not just a shot of one.....

well she missed the chance to sit next to a beautiful woman inside and out.....so she missed her blessing for the day....

My pathetic two year anniversary story
pulsetkr replied to Hopeful this time's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thank you for your honesty about your experience. I'm sorry that your journey on that road didn't work out for you. It is indeed a cliche but "One size doesn't always fit all"....I pray that you find your way out of what sent you to the lapband in the first place. And that you are blessed beyond measure.... -
indeed it's a healthy advantage to have. I didn't start it for weight loss i wanted to feel better. Yes that Slam energy i used to drink one before i bowled every week. really focused my game and had me really improved in my average...lol....

i am not banded yet, but i am an Advocare distributor myself and have done the 24 day challenge. i lost 15 pounds on it. Advocare is an awesome product, i will be using the meal replacement shakes post surgery, and adding the protein shots into it. i love my Advocare!!....good luck can't wait to hear how well you did...also if you take the Catylist it will help shrink up loose skin...and those pills can be opened so you can mix them into a spark drink.

i am not banded yet, but i feel this will be my biggest hurdle to slow down and eat. i have thought and thought of how to do this, i don't want to have to rely on a timer, and i don't want to have to use one in public either. So i am going to approach it this way. Take your bite, put down your utensil, and then silently i will sing twinkle twinkle little star it has thirty seven words in the song. and if you make note to chew to each word your food should be where it needs to be before you swallow and prepare for the next bite...now mind you this is just my 2 cents....lol...and it will probably make some laugh....but this is how i am going to start my process of learning...It's like when i learned CPR we were told to do the compressions to the rythm of the song "If your going to play in Texas, You got to have a fiddle in the band"...it really did work...lol...anyway that's my thoughts....

Worst decision of my life - removed & still handicapped & chronic pain
pulsetkr replied to Megdal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
one must remember, you can "die" from almost anything from eating food (allergy), botched surgeries.. ect......as well as can become incapacitated by numerous happenings, rather they be self inflicted or a luck of the draw. none of us are promised tomorrow....with that said, i would hope that you would have more to say than what's going wrong in your life and blaming it on the band without any evidence to back that up that i can see. Remember you must've been tired of being overweight or you wouldn't have gotten it in the first place. And being in the medical field as long as I have you cannot tell me that you were that active and had severe enough weight issues to cause you to get banded. i'm not sure why you felt the need to write your post. you are the exception...and i'm thankful that I don't and I hope that no one else put's stock in your rant. But i will say that may God bless you with a healing to your body and your mind.... -

congratulations on a job well done, and better yet, well deserved.... it's the surprises of this nature that are the most enjoyable. It let's us know that we still have some changes to make in our mind set that we "can't".... that word is no longer in your vocabulary it would seem.... again congratulations!!!!

you did the best thing you could've ever done. just say nothing at all. I'm proud that you didn't dig it in to him...i know that's our usual first instinct is to give back the feelings that we were given... you are much better than that....you are a true Lady... -
