Funny lunch story

my word i have trouble doing the liquids for 24hrs after a fill keep it up though as it's certainly worth it.. on a side note that is how i have always ordered minestrone soup.. loved the broth but hated the chunks so folks have always thought i was crazy so i'm used to it now -
Hey alex not sure if i'm alone in this. but i seem to be having some issues with the site. i will get the little icon saying there are notifications but if i click on it nothing happens. also all of a sudden posts from different groups are showing up. i had it set to show only lapband topics but i've been seeing some from other groups. don't mind reading about every one but as it's not the way i have it set... just wondering.

i see a lot of sleeve topics. i'm ok with general stuff. perhaps that is where it gets me lost
-
I'm still having this issue. i would really like to know how to filter the site to only show posts from folks with lapband surgery. while i like to read posts from others i would rather it be my choice rather than find myself off some where unexpectedly.

Ok so saw the office Tuesday for a check up and a fill. That all went normal down 6lbs on their scale so YEA me ... however i asked them about a pain that i have been getting on my left side where i would imagine the Lapband is. it's not port related more internal... any way when i asked and explained the related symptoms and occurrences they told me it was all normal and nothing to worry about. so being that it's "normal" have any of you had mild pain in your left Band area - accompanied with Gas and or the urge to use the bathroom? It can be quite uncomfortable but have noticed if i manage to burp the sensation will go away not completely but doesn't last too much longer and also if i have to use the bathroom . I was told that gas is and will always be an issue with the lapband and i knew that. i guess i just had not translated that to pain. so just kind of wondering if i'm alone with my weirdness

Dreading girls night out!

Don't let eating out become something you dread.. Most restaurants will have band friendly food. the real trick is to know your limitations before you go. and if you know ahead of time check out the menu so you can take your time figuring out what you plan on eating.. for me i usually end up with a Soup and small salad.. Soups for the most part are slider foods and don't do much to trigger the band but combined with a small salad you can maintain the appearance of eating normally if this is something that concerns you. for me pretty much every one in my life both at home and work know that i have the band so it doesn't bother me. what i do not want to share with them is any kind of episode of being stuck.. that needs to remain private I know your just venting but you will be fine... go out and enjoy - just make sure that you have your drink before you eat -
can some one help me with my settings i'm really only interested in seeing posts from the lapband forum. and not from any of the others that keep showing up and leading me astray.

just want to say best of luck and that i hope you drop in once in a while.. It is said to see you go. i still wonder where MISSY is and how she's doing.. now i'll just add you to my wondering thanks for sharing your wisdom

i'm at 6 fills now had it last week. and for the first time i'm finally seeing the weight really move. i've lost 3.5 since Monday.. some if not most i think is Water related but my point is that it's pretty normal if you are doing just the normal fills where they add Fluid but don't do it under fluoroscopy to take a while. part of me wishes i had just done that at the start but the other part is thankful i didn't. As i felt more and more restriction i've been able to adjust to the life of a bander. Yes it brings with it frustration that the weight may not be moving as fast as you would like but in the long run it's healthier and you'll be happier with your band. best of luck.

HELP! Has this happened to anyone else?
intelirish replied to ivyh's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i've not much to add other than please listen to what 2muchfun said.. never feel embarrassed to call - so much rather that then any serious complications. keep us posted -
the notification thing looks fixed thank you . but i'm still still posts from other groups although it does seem to be from the general Weight loss forum rather than specially from another surgery all though clicking on that does then to lead to the other posts showing up.

Third fills the charm!

i would imagine if you can't chug water than the band is too tight... least i hope so. living in AZ being able to chug water is the only way i make it through the summer..... -
10mts seems a horribly long time to wait.. but as terry mentioned above it's not unheard off to have to wait. i've had the same insurance since 2000 and i was made to wait 5mts before surgery.. if you can't appeal the wait time i suggest you find out what all their other requirements are now.. my 4mts was because i was required to have 4 weight loss related vists that had to be 1mt apart.. and then once that was completed it took another month to get approval if this is also a requirement you can start that before your dec date. that way you are ready to go and can submit for approval rather than be surprised and have to wait again. i have seen others post they required 6mts or more. best of luck.. keep fighting this
