hey there glad your fill went ok.. sounds just like my experience.. i can't really tell i have the band at all.. I'm eating smaller portions but still finding i get hungry quicker than i'd like. but the office staff where great we should try to all get together some where central to every one -
thanks guys.. you are all truly wonderful people.. the only thing i replied to her was with WAY TO GO... I will continue to just focus on me.. if she wants to join me on my journey the door will always be open but for now i'll stay on this side of it and figure things out for my self..

Ok I just want to rant and whine and complain mostly because I know folks here will most likely give me the virtual slap upside the head I need and tell me to calm down.. actually just writing this post helps put some perspective back.. my problem I’m VERY impatient and need to learn to accept my progress as it is and not stress too much that I’ve not lost enough..But now at 6cc in a 14 cc band I still do not seem to have any restriction. And going forward they told me the biggest adjustments will be .1 cc at a time. I feel at that rate it will take YEARS before I ever get anywhere close to a green zone. How aggressive can I be with fills? I don’t want to wait a year before I find the Green Zone or even feel restriction

thanks guys - already i'm feeling better i love this site and advice you all give out i honestly don't know if i could have gone through with everything with out this site. I don't honestly know any one personally that has gone through WLS for the lapband. though i am getting to know some of you wonderful folks better post by post. My brain is telling me for the most part this is still all so new to relax and take it slow. just got to take a deep breath once in a while and come here for some tough love mixed with a lot of common sense. -
the only swallow test i had to do was to sip a warm cup of Water for 5mins to make sure it went down.. not sure i got any restriction from this fill though i guess that some what to be expected as it was my first.. though i have only eaten mush food so far so hard to tell..

Hi I'm a month post op living in maricopa. -
don't be far as i can tell your doing amazing already, i struggled a lot this past few weeks even with the 4 cc in my band. hoping now when i start eating solids again on Sunday that my hunger will finally be under control

that is awesome.. keep it up..

i had my first fill yesterday.. didn't hurt at all and was over before i expected the nurse was laughing when she said i was done. i guess i had a WTF look on my face.. as for how do they know how much to put in? they actually pull everything out first measure what is there and then make a decision on that and how things have been. for me i had 4cc from when the band was put in. but have felt no restriction so they added 2ccs. you will do fine. as long as they numb you first you won't feel a thing.
-
i'm just starting my journey with a 14cc band and am hoping that i'll find the green zone somewhere between 7 and 9 based on the averages the doc has seen . sure some will take more or less but as i'm already at 6 i'm hoping i'm closer than i was.. had no restriction with 4. hope all is ok with you. i don't have the experience or knowledge to offer real advise but it if the cough is not norm and a indicator of something possibly wrong id be calling my doc. let us know how your doing..

Breaking the Rules - eating something you should NOT
intelirish replied to NewMeDebbie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Just finished your blog and log your comment about the band not being around your head or mouth.. gosh wouldn't it be easier if it was? I find being newly banded with no restriction part of bandister hell.. i mean here i was practically starving myself... or so my head kept telling me no matter what i ate there was no restriction.. but now i'm on day 2 of liquids having gotten my first fill yesterday worried about what tomorrow the mushes stage will bring never mind Sunday when i can go back to solids again. I will be so very glad to cross bread of my list of food it is my weakness. any how what you where going through was similar to my experience so i'm glad that i'm not alone.. haven't had the stuck feeling and pray that i never do. best of luck on your journey -
Breaking the Rules - eating something you should NOT
intelirish replied to NewMeDebbie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
there are apps that will count down 30 secs or what ever time you tell it and give you a visible notification that times up. the one i got for my pone is called eat slower. it's an android app.. you could just simply use the little times they give out at the kids dentist to help make sure they are cleaning their teeth for long enough i also use that at home.. that way my kids can play along as eating slowly is healthy for all -

i was banded on 9/19 and the diet plan my doc had me on mushes by week 2 with being on solids by 4. today at 4wks post op i had my first fill and am excited to see what the next stage will be. i was eating with no restriction up to this point hoping to have an easier time staying in the 1cup allowance now -
it went great for me. The nurse had me lie down on my back and then slightly sit up to bring the port closer to the surface.. she numbed me before hand and so i didn't feel a thing. i am now at 6cc full in a 14 cc band. apparently there was already 4 in there so she added 2. but is hopeful because of her past experience that patients with a 14cc band on average find the green zone some where between 7 and 9 cc. with some of course being the exception to the rule. i'm on liquids now for 48hrs mushes for one and then slowly back to normal. i'm hoping i will see a big change in restriction as with 4cc already in there i could eat what ever i wanted and how i wanted so it was getting hard to keep up my good habits.. won't really know until i start eating solid foods again so Monday will be the day to watch

Any other September 2013 bandsters?

it went great : it went easy and quick. The nurse had me half sit up to make the port more accessible, numbed the area and after checking how much fluid was already in there filled me up. The only thing I find interesting is I already had 4ccs of fluid in my 14cc band. I had absolutely no restriction with this much in already. They added 2ccs bringing the total up to 6cc. based on the average they see of folks with the same size band she is hopeful I will find the green zone at between 7 and 9 cc. Here's hoping i'm one large step towards that goal now -

that is pretty much my story except i get my first fill today at 9am PST YEA!! so ready to not feel hungry i know i most likely won't hit the green zone the first time round but long as i get a little closer i'll be happy.. -
will do as i'm STARVING too feel like i could eat off my arm.. i'm just hoping he puts in enough to make a difference.. there is some fluid already in there as he adds some when placing the band but said it's normal for it to loosen up in the wks post surgery. i'm just ready to find that green zone and finally see the scale move.. as it's not doing much of anything these days....

Posts in the media too!
intelirish replied to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i have to admit at first i was all what the heck as yes i did a search and there i was.. but as it was mentioned lapbandtalk is a free public forum that any one can log in and read.. twitter is just another avenue to help folks find them. and honestly.. it most likely only those who are interested in the procedure that would be following it on twitter. when it comes to posting anything on the web you have to use common sense.. 1. Will you care if other people see it. 2. Will it be something you would become embarrassed to see in the future 3. Would it cause you to be in danger? answer yes to any of those then you probably shouldn't be sharing anything on any kind of social media site. just my too cents.. i still want to read and hear about everyone's life.. just be thoughtful of what you share  -
I am so hungry today i just can't get past the i'm hungry feeling and it's physical for sure.. my tummy is a rumbling..
-
How was it? my first one is tomorrow and i can't wait to get some restriction going.. these last few weeks have been such a struggle to lose weight fight the hunger feeling and to remember to stop eating long before i want to..

What did you tell your Employer???
intelirish replied to tifflo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I chose to tell most folks at work... honestly though obesity is a dieses much like any other and you would not hesitate to have surgery to fix something else and most likely not hide it.people will watch you once they notice how you are eating any way so the truth for me was a easy choice.my boss has become my biggest cheerleader.my coworkers my walking companions the whole group walk every morning for at least a mile with me. Yes they are all waiting to see how much I will lose but as I have explained to them it's going to take awhile the newness will wear off eventually and they will stop tracking I hope.
