I've been off the bandwagon for a while now and have a little gain.. need some one that will work with me and help me get back on track and eventually to Goal..

True Results is Going Out of Business
intelirish replied to PrettyThick1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
apparently they are closing every where as i just found out through a FB group i belong to that they where closing. i was just in the AZ location 2 1/2 wks ago and they never said a word. i'm lost i have no idea how to find some one to continue my after care. i was just starting to try and get back on track as I've not lost weight in so long.. and would really like to get below the 200 mark and stay there. going to call them tomorrow and see what they have to say. but not very hopeful if they can jell their patients anything. -
HI there it's been a LONG while since i posted on here. I've been pretty much maintaining a 80lbs lose never really made it to goal but enjoying a much healthier me... today i found out that TrueResults where i had my surgery done in 2013 closed. i'm at a lose i don't even know how to begin to find some where else for after care. i don't even know where to start. i had fallen behind in after care and had made the decision just before Christmas to get back on track and see if i can get rid of the last 30 or so lbs i need to lose. and now this. i feel like this is going to be the biggest set back since i started this journey. will have to call tomorrow to see if they will give me my medical records as i have no idea who or where they could send them. i can only hope they will provide suggestions on after care..

so to my amazement the body scanner at the San Francisco airport managed to pick up my lap-band. WOW it took about 10 mins of talking and pat downs to convince them i didn't have something on me. The strange part is the one in Phoenix either didn't pick it up or they didn't say say-thing.... are there cards we can carry in case this happens again?

hey there... it's been quite a while since i posted here.. seem to have lost my way some where over the last few months.. had a slight gain over the summer due to a slight unfill as i was in Europe for 10wks and the doc wanted to reduce the risk of complications while i was away.. i'm down about half that gain but sill 8 up from my lowest it seems somehow i'm back to old eating habits that where i am should be good enough.. and yet it doesn't make me happy so why do i let it be good enough.. any where here's to restarting old - good habits as i certainly can't go back to where i was before i joined this site .. hope every one had a great labor day weekend for those of you in the US..or an otherwise fantastic normal one

so i haven't been on here in a while... things have been ok. i've lost 80lbs and kept it off but the last 6mts or so i haven't had any real loss i go up and down the same 5 - 7 lbs. lately food has gotten stuck more often but if i had to say why it's mostly because i've been eating too fast because of stress. i have an appointment tomorrow not sure if i really need a fill - more like a kick in the head to start behaving again.. My issue is i leave in May for 10wks.. going home to Ireland and i know they will want me to get at least half the Fluid removed before i go .. i'm worried. that with little to no weight loss these past 6 mts that i will gain.. has any one else traveled over seas for any time longer than 2 wks.. Did you get an unfill? not sure what i'd do if an issue arose. ahh decisions.. never mind they are going to be focusing on the fact i still haven't lost..

just popping in to say hi and merry Christmas to all. i'm not on here much but love stopping by to catch up on what every one is doing. Me my slight dilation is completely gone so they added Fluid back... have to say i love the folks in the office I was complaining about not having lost any more weight - when they pointed out that i had not gained and that showed them that i was not dependent on the band to stay healthy. and that many or in fact most people who have fluid removed usually gain.. What an eye opener that was - Feeling on top of the world or at least half way there.

aww congrats

If you weren't obese "all" of your life, what is it that caused you to become obese ?
intelirish replied to My Bariatric Life's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wow so many of our life stories could be each others.. I was always thin until my early - mid twenty's i even made it through my first pregnancy not sure how much i gained but went from a size 8 to 10..not too bad.. Then the post pregnancy blues as my mother called it hit. I was a single mother in a small town catholic Irish community and well need i say more ...i started hiding.. been hiding for the last 16yrs... got a desk job so i didn't have to interact with folks. But i have to say the biggest impact to my diet has to have been Moving back to the US - the life of fast food premade salt soaked foods was my undoing. now with the band and the healthier lifestyle i am eating better and feeling emotionally better and am no longer hiding -
Breast augmentation: What size?
intelirish replied to MichiganChic's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
umm i had a reduction done about 10yrs ago.. i wanted my surgeon to make me as small as she could... She told me NO.... her reasoning 1. she likes to consider herself a body artist - wants to give people the body shape/type that matches. 2. Removing that much would add unnecessary hrs to the surgery and she didn't feel that the added risk was worth it. She reduced me from well i'll be honest i don't honestly know what size i really was all i knew was i was HUGE.....down to a 36DD. folks would say wow that's still big.. and well yes i would agree.. but in all honesty i was glad she didn't make me any smaller at the time while i wasn't at my highest weight i wasn't at my ideal.. she encouraged me to work out and lose weight that they would continue to reduce as the rest of me but that they would now be in portion. As my weight increased so did my size till i was a 44DD.. i'm back down to my comfortable 36DD with my weight loss and i'm amazed that they are still standing strong .... I guess the point or "points" of this note is talk with your surgeon and ask them what would suit your new body type. -
i almost feel bad complaining about the weather here in AZ it's certainly chilly in the am as i leave for work in the low 40's i haven't replaced my coat yet so i'm huddled in a fleese.. but by the end of the day and the low 70's have shown their face i'm feeling a little better... what is with this new feeling i now have.. being cold sucks but i'll take it any day from being over heated and near heat stroke from just walking from my car to my office.. for those of you in the snow.. go out and make a snow angel but stay warm... happy almost thanksgiving to you all

@@gowalking love the pics i really want one of those faires @@Jim1967 wish i was going with you i LOVE everything disney.. and how on earth did i miss the meet and great post off to check it out now. Hope every one is doing well.. me i had a slight unfill Friday as my indigestion finally got the better of me - go back next week for an upper GI to make sure all is ok. the PA is pretty sure it is an irritated band most likely brought on by the 4 flights i took in 5 days and the changes in temp/allergies ... i'm doing a whole lot better now. still no hunger down 5lbs in 10 days....

for the last 4 or 5 days i have had some incredible indigestion. at first i thought it was my coffee habit finally catching up with me so i cut that back to almost nothing. i only seem to get it during the day and it's not right when i wake up it's usually later after i have had something small to drink or eat. This morning i woke up just fine and was on my way to work drinking my V8 splash - about the time i got to work i was ready to throw up. i don't have any issues with eating no more than norm - meaning if i rush i have the usual probs but if i eat right and take my time all is good. Has any one else had unexplained indigestion? i have my normal appointment on the 26th trying to decided if i need to pull it in. i don't have any of the other signs i was told to watch for - night cough/heart burn. just a horrible feeling that i need to be sick

catching up every one seems to be doing great.. I've been traveling this week. 3 flights in 3 days and one more tomorrow sure has me beat. my band doesn't seem to know if it's coming or going. was doing fine while i was in Santa Clara and Folsom - weather was great but Rainy Portland seems to have tied a know in things. have had a lot of trouble eating since i got here.. guess it's just liquids till i get home hoping the scales will be nice - should be i've walked an average of 7 miles a day.. and lifted and moved so many heavy objects during inventory that i've lost count.

What’s Your Relationship with Caffeine?
intelirish replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
my habit has gotten worse since WLS and is back to my school/studying days. i find that i drink a lot more coffee now because the warm drink helps waken up the band first thing in the morning. then depending on stress levels for the rest of the day it helps relax the band. i also seem to find that i reach more for my coffee now than Snacks. -
Love this idea.. Name: Nora Jackson currently Town - Maricopa State - AZ Country - USA

@@JustWatchMe i am doing the same thing i want to get down to goal before i cut of the hair. i've been hiding behind my locks for years now since i gained weight i've always in the past been thin with short and heavy with long. i want to see how i look thin and long

@@lisacaron i so know what you mean.. especially on those days after where i have indulged in salt. my body goes crazy and bloats - even going to the gym can mess with how i feel. I never seem to be able to drink enough water.. i've developed a horrible coffee addiction lately as the warm drink helps wake up my band.. need to start focus on Water and other types of drinks.

Starting 5:2 and no scale this week
intelirish replied to JustWatchMe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
thanks guys. i ended up getting some grilled turkey ~3oz and some spinach leaves probably a little more than the 150 cals the protien shake would have had. but most likely not by too much.. though some mean person keeps making popcorn some where close i may have to go find some where else to work before i subsume. -
Starting 5:2 and no scale this week
intelirish replied to JustWatchMe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
ahh i forgot my shakes i'm sitting here at work not yet hungry - but i can feel it creeping up on my any suggestions on what to do i want this to be a good fast day. i stopped eating at 8.30 yesterday so it's already been 14plus hrs and wanted to have a shake at lunch then a small egg white omelet when i got home to finish up the day. i'd go buy a pre made shake at walgreens but they are never chilled there and i have to drink mine cold ...... ok sob over back to work perhaps i can just make it till it get home. -
I may be the only one on this post that is excited for the change in Temp now that Fall is finally here. Fall means being able to go out side for me. that the temps are finally low enough to get out and enjoy. mind you it's still in the 80/90 temp range but i'll take it over 115 or higher. :-) so i had a NSV today.. i finally decided i needed a belt for my jeans so i went to grab one of the one's i've been saving from that time before...not a one fit me.. i was really confused i was like how can that be.. than it finally dawned on me they don't fit because they are too big. LMAO.. what a nice surprise. will have to pop a few extra holes in a few so i can still make use of some of them.

lol good to see all is well my trigger food these days seems to be salt.. anything with salt.. i'm still debating the dressing up.. 70+ down but still bigger than when i last dressed up. but just being able to contemplate it is such a difference weather is finally turning here in Arizona.. OMG what a HOT HOT summer.. it's now hanging around the 90's which is so much better another few weeks should bring in the 80's Happy hump day to you

Is anyone having success and enjoying their banded life?
intelirish replied to Kitt3000's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this post and it's so good to see all the happy happy folks posting/sharing their stories. I too LOVE LOVE my band and would do it again in a heart beat. down 72lbs.. can sit on a 16hr transatlantic flight and remain comfortable. can go out and actually drink once in a while and not cry when the scale goes up accordingly. this last year has been amazing i'm 30lbs short of my first goal and i just know by this time next year i'll have conquered that and moved on. so who here is going to dress up for Halloween? for the first time in years i'm actually considering it
