Zingythingy replied to EmorieJai's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My list isn't so long Fly without extender...tick Be able to take care of all my own personal hygiene...tick Get waxed and have a massage Go abroad somewhere hot Most importantly live to see my beautiful daughter grow up and become a woman.. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -
I'm not an expert by any stretch but I follow weight watchers and adjust it to suit my band. I don't eat meat now I substitute it for quorn, everything is low fat no added sugar. I always eat Protein first or I'm hungry pretty quickly. If your hungry quickly after meals maybe your band needs slightly adjusting, I believe everyone plateaus (so I've read) I don't know if you can but I walk over an hour a day. chin up more calories out than in is the key... This stories are really sad. I was really thin when I was young so could shop anywhere. If I was the girls mum I'd be murderous..I'd have the assistants job... Recently I was looking for a wedding dress. I went into a boutique shop in ireland. The assistant sneered down her nose at me. I asked if they could help me. She said they they didn't accomodate women like me??? I said "what my height" I'm really tall.. She said no my size.. I was dumb struck. I might of wanted my dress made from scratch..ignorant woman.. Although I'm not getting married now I wil go back when I'm a size that could be accomodated and suggest where she shoves her dresses..lol Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

PRE OP LIQUID DIET
Zingythingy replied to princesstuiaki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm really glad I did afterwards. I think my recovery was speedy because I made such a huge pre op commitment. It helped a bit with hunger too post op. I was used to eating nothing that Soup etc was heaven... Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -
Its soul destroying when you get the "oh thought you'd of lost more" type comments. I wish I'd not told anyone I was having surgery.. Not only do people not understand that regardless of size we all have feelings their expectations of you sometimes can't be met. I was never going to wake up 120 llbs lighter overnight..does it really hurt to say something kind or encouraging.. Every single thing I eat drink is policed by my family..even my grocery shopping..aaahhhh Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

My understanding of what "the green" means is when your restriction is at its optimum for reducing your hunger levels and giving you a feeling of fullness/being satisfied on a band sized portion... Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

Being sore is normal.. Having someone rummage around your insides is going to be sore.. I was up and about walking/waddling really fast but did do too much too soon and ended up exhausted.. Try to take it a little easy..you still have to heal.. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

Zingythingy replied to princesstuiaki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Banded yesterday, freaking out today! :( Lots of discomfort
Zingythingy replied to matilda85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi matilda, congratulations firstly on your surgery... Secondly I had dreadful wind post op and loads of swelling. Remember everybody will respond differently to the surgery, so if you stay concerned give them a call.. I was given tomato cup a Soup, yogurt and puree fruit the day after my op by the hospital. Follow their rules. Guidelines and opinions of the medical professionals change constantly.. Hope you feel better soon... Keep moving it seems to help. I took deflatine to ease my wind. It was brilliant.. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -
4 days post op. feeling horrible! help?
Zingythingy replied to caitlin_new_band's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi caitlin, I really struggled drinking Water post op too.. My throat was sore and I had awful trapped wind and was really swollen.. I sucked ice lollies and drank watered down Soup. It was easier warm than cold... Don't regret it you'll be fine soon. Xx Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -

I've not been able to eat anything bread like or doughy, fried since my op.. I was a bread junkie loved toasted sandwiches.. There are a few things I can't have, and it changes with each fill for me. Physically don't miss them..mentally do sometimes. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -

2nd Fill and Nothing is Happening
Zingythingy replied to fashionstylist's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know it does vary from person to person.. I think I'm blessed. My band fill lady has had her band for I think 7 yrs. She is very understanding about being hungry etc.. Stick with it I know its hard...you'll get there soon. I'm not good at being patient... I want instant results. I forget it took me yrs to get obese. I won't be skinny over night... 2nd Fill and Nothing is Happening
Zingythingy replied to fashionstylist's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi there, I feel so sorry for you. I have a 14 cc band too I was banded on july 3rd. I had 1•5cc in from surgery. At 5 wks 4•5cc added bringing me up to 6 cc. I was starving all the time so rang my clinic and got another appointment for at 8 wks. I had another 2cc added.. I'm now at 8cc. That did cause me a few problems. The close fills caused me swelling and for a week I could hardly eat anything... I took wind pills and stayed on liquids.. I'm fine now eating normally.. less hungry my next fill is the 23rd of this month. If I were you I'd ring and explain that your dreadfully hungry if they won't top up your band possibly seek an alternative place.. Hang in there.. ps I'd love to be able to eat a subway. I can't eat bread at all..lol Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -
I was totally trapped by my symptoms too. I couldn't walk my daughter to school, do the grocery shopping (unless there was a bathroom) it was a living nightmare. As much as losing weight is improving my life... This is by far the greater reward..... Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

I would of sold a kidney to be free of my IBS symptoms.. I feel like I got a great deal 2 for 1. Buy a band to help me lose weight as an extra cure myself of horrible symptoms... Happy days Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

I know this one..lol. Before so you don't fill yourself up with liquid. During as it can help your food through. If you add Water to food it changes consistency. Goes through easily.. After because if your full it puts pressure on food working its way down and clears your stomach faster. You get hungry again more quickly.. Hope that helps Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk
