Hi there had my third fill on monday I have a 14 cc band I'm up to 9/5 cc now. Definatly feel a huge difference. Slow progression to normal food from mushies. I seem to swell after a fill for about a week then it settles. Definatly in or near the green.. Its more than halved my eating capacity. I was able to eat fair amount before and snack imbetween in moments of weakness. Not now.. congrats to being a 2. Thats fabulous. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

sleeping post opp :(

Bandista is right..propping yourself into position is the way. Port pain does improve but in my experience does take time.. Even now mine can be a bit sore and narky. I did exactly the same rolled over sleeping and woke up in pain. You'll be sleeping soundly soon I'm sure. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -
I was a soda/pop junkie.. I now drink pure fruit juice mixed with sparkling Water. I know carbonated things can cause some problems but I sip really slowly to kill that urge.. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

I don't know if its over kill but a few weeks ago I got sinusitis that made me cough. My gp gave me antibiotics to make sure I didn't get a chest infection and cure the sinusitis. Hot drinks could help you sweat it out... Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

Worst decision of my life - removed & still handicapped & chronic pain
Zingythingy replied to Megdal's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I love my band.. Its made my life worth living.. Simple as that. I had no major health concerns I was just morbidly obese. You need to be objective. I had a c-section to deliver my twins in 1996. I nearly bled to death due to a mistake. But I would never suggest a woman not have one because of my dreadful experience. I'm sad for you for your poor quality of life but frightening people won't improve things for you. I know knowledge is power but a degree if objectivity is essential. I don't want to offend anyone. Just my opinion Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -
Have you heard of the 20/20/20 method? You basically chew for twenty chews minimum. Then wait for the count of twenty before the next mouthful and only eat for twenty minutes.. Worked for me. I used to inhale my dinner.. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

I just want to share some of my joy..... Ive just returned from the uk back to ireland.(that part is not joyous) went for a review with my lap band lady..all good. last night my mum suggested quick trip to the supermarket. There was a beautiful wool dress. I eyed it up liked it..said "better try it on that won't ever fit me" ha ha it was too big!! Never thought i'd say those words... It Hung shapelessly on me.. I was so pleased I did a dance in the changing room.. When I started this process I was wearing the biggest size possible in the uk and ireland. Only certain styles and shapes fitted then. Happy as a pig in poop. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

Thankyou thats so true.. I don't see changes when I look at myself. My head hasn't accepted things yet. I still feel monstrous.. That little victory has boosted my self esteem no end.. Thanks again. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

Thats probably just where its stitched to your muscle..but when you take off plasters/bandage check it for heat whether it is nice and dry not sticky or weeping. They can be signs of infection. The wind pain is a b**ch.. The more you move the quicker it seems to shift. It can take a few days.. Think positively it wil go and you'll start losing weight and feel fab.. Ah you poor thing don't panic. If your only one day post op pain near your port is usual. Its been anchored to your abdominal wall. They are sore for a while. As for burning?? Not so sure about that. Is it very red and hot.. That can indicate possible infection. Keep an eye on it. Expect some discomfort.. Don't suffer gas/wind pain thats what pain relief is for. Walk gently as much as you can it really helps. Peppermint ginger tea or cordial also help.. Try not to worry and relax you'll feel better soon. :-) Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

This is quite complicated and long but I'll try to condense it. I have had two fills pretty big ones. I have a 14cc band currently with 8cc's in it. First fill 4•5 second 2cc's. Had 1•5 from surgery... I lose 3-4 llb every week consistently. I walk daily keep as busy as possible and watch carefully everything I eat or drink... Thought I was doing ok.. However had a phone call from my dietician..(very heated in the end) She feels my weight loss is too fast?? And needs slowed down..she was recommending no more fills!! I tried to explain I didn't think it was extreme and it was determination helping me lose rather than band restriction. (did have couple of really tight days after last fill but that did settle down quickly) I'm due to fly to uk for review tomorrow and was hoping for a small fill. I feel I'm quite close to being in the green but not quite.. But now feel unsure about my appointment/progress due to her comments. Can I still request a fill? Or do I have to follow wishes of the dietician? Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

Thanks for the reply. I'm usually satisfied for about three hours. I'll just see what they say. As long as my weight loss stays roughly the same as it is. I'm happy.. Thanks again Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

what happens if I throw up a lot the day of surgery?
Zingythingy replied to scarletlaj's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am violently sick following spinals and anaesthesia..and some pain relief.. I told the anaesthesiologist this. He gave me anti sickness injection and no morphine.. I didn't feel sick once... Congrats and good luck Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -

Lstair.. I'll be totally rooting for you... You can fix these difficulties and move on. None of them are to big too stop you.... Stop hating yourself... I've detested myself for 18 yrs until recently.. If you think and feel negatively you do tend only to attract negative things.. What ever you feel are your mistakes, failings they don't detract from your worth as a person. As for pop/soda I was a 4 litre a day drinker before my op... You have to think why its such a poor choice..I miss pop truely (in my head) I have occasionally fruit juice and carbonated Water mixed with ice as a substitute (one a week tops) Find a motivator something that matters to you. My daughter is mine. I promised her I'd get healthy. I've abused myself and my health for yrs and let myself down in the past. Thats so easy especially if your self esteem is low but I'd never fail on my promise to her... Your not alone. There are great, kind people on here who'd help you with support and advice and friendship... Chin up.. You can do it. Xx Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

I've put mine down to possibly two things.. Bread was always a consistent trigger for me..not had bread but granola, so maybe its wheat. I've been eating that..or as my hormones are back working wondered if my adhesions from my numerous pregnancy surgeries have been aggravated.. Just dont know. Wish I did. Whatever it was id dodge it like the plague. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk
