Where to put port?
Zingythingy replied to PuraVida37's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have mine just under my left rib that feels ok to me. It was hard to begin with as I had to be careful putting a bra on but apart from that... Good luck with your choice Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -
I'm sure you'll get there. St least your honest about how things havent gone smoothly for you. The mental aspect of being banded is really hard.. I'm a comfort eater too. Actually I eat or ate for every emotion. Not always sad or lonely. I have a 14 band with 9/5cc's. Finding it a good restriction not hungry..woo hoo. At least my body anyway. Head hunger now and again. I'm sure you'll get there this time. No restriction is hard. Its just a diet and they are not easy... Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

I don't have insurance. I paid cash. I live in ireland but travel to the uk. There are clinics in ireland given by my team. (impossible however to get an appointment) and its only for fills. I paid for two yrs aftercare but didn't really know what that entailed. I researched the surgeon not the company.. Thought as he was one of the best in britain his company would be. I think I made the mistake of complaining plasters were applied to my skin during surgery. (it was on my notes) I'm really allergic to the adhesives and had a reaction which made my healing much more difficult.. Been treated like a moaning minny since. They were attentive until surgery then poof gone. So I rely on the internet and experiences on this site to judge how I'm doing. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -
JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
Zingythingy replied to sprinkle715's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi heather, I was banded july 3rd. I was able to eat loads initially like I wasn't banded at all until my last fill I could eat lots..had to be really strict not too.. Now I'm in or around the green and can't eat much now its great but sad all in one. Great the band is doing its job, sad because its not my decision/choice now.. Silly I know.. Don't be scared of a fill you will be ok if you follow your teams advice... Goods luck Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -

I used a very reputable surgeon with loads of experience....thought all the education I needed would follow. It hasn't really. I can't fault my fill nurse she is amazing 7 yrs banded and successful but only see her for five mins tops.. She even criticised the after care system. I feel great sympathy for anyone whose life/experience has been negative. It would help if they said why they felt it had Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -

Thanks cheryl that might be easier said than done. Not seen my surgeon since day of my op... I get dietician phone calls occasionally. Since my surgery I've found out via web that aftercare with my team is dreadful. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -

This whole experience is baffling.. I feel clueless about most stuff. And because of horror stories about destroyed lives it frightens me I might be doing things wrong. My band fill lady is fab. The rest of after care is appauling Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -

I couldnt agree more about the spirit of the post. there has to be information included. the one in question for me wasn't particularly informative...I know anyone can say what they feel and have the right to an opinion but scaremongering is not nice Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -
I suppose it depends on how big your fills are. Mine were all pretty big.(had 1/5 from surgery) My first 4/5 cc. My second 2cc's the last 1/5cc's. Now I'm at 9/5 cc's in a 14 cc's band in a short period. I've only been banded since july 3rd.. Hang in there.. You'll get there. Its a bit of a shock when you do. But a good one. From your picture you look pretty young does your weight fluctuate hormonally? Im no expert I'm only able to give info from my own experience. My only weight increase since surgery was this week and was hormonally related. Maybe your body is used to the new eating and lifestyle and needs to be shocked into action again.. Muscle weighs considerably more than fat (adipose) tissue. I understand feeling disheartened by the scales not moving but if your losing inches stay positive. Some women retain Fluid. Also if you have high salt in your diet you store Water. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk

My instruction was no drink 30 mins prior to or after eating.. Don't really understand the prior bit but understand the after or during eating part Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk
