I was banded a yr ago and lost 170lb. My everything has loose skin apart from my face. I'm having surgery on grounds of emotional distress to fix my tummy and boobs in a month. I was getting sore where the skin touched and it didn't matter what I did I couldn't like my body looking like that it was so depressing.

I lost 170lbs and my port shows through tight clothes. I'm having a TT in a month and I'm having my port moved it's still sore after a yr as it feels like it's knocking off my ribs. It does bother me that it's visible but not as much as weighing 350lb bothered me.

JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
Zingythingy replied to sprinkle715's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey July banders. My weight loss journey is finally nearly complete. I received my first date for surgery to improve the body I have remaining. My tummy tuck is on august 20th. 5 wks 5 days. I'm both excited and terrified. Can't wait to have a flatter smoother stomach. Dreading having my band completely deflated for 8 weeks. Has anyone had this surgery? -
JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
Zingythingy replied to sprinkle715's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happy anniversary band buddies. ???????????????? I was banded this day last year. I'm 167 pounds down and delighted. Life's pretty good. Start weight 354 lb current weight 187lb (14 to go max) Dress size 34 down to a 14???? 60 miles cycled in 4 hours, 5 miles jogged in 54 minutes. I can tie my own shoes, wash myself, have a bath, wipe my own bum properly. No health complaints apart from low blood pressure which I always had even heavy. Some loose skin but nothing horrendous but having it tidied up when I've hit goal and maintained a couple of months. So for me a very positive experience. -
JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
Zingythingy replied to sprinkle715's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Aww brittani, Hun hopefully firstly I spelt your name right. Don't feel like a failure. 22 lbs might not be as much as you'd hoped for but it's still a victory. Secondly don't compare yourself to other people. Being unique is why we are all special.. This isn't an easy journey. It's tough. I've gained and lost since Christmas lots of times. If I added all my gained weight up and took it off my total id of been at my goal ages ago. But I do love chocolate still, I eat emotionally still from time to time I'm human like you like us all. My anatomy was changed by my band not my taste in food. That said there are foods I try not to eat ever. And I do eat a lot of fish and I hated it to begin with but it's ok now. I use an app called MYFITNESSPAL, it's been my saviour. I count calories everyday still. Stick to target and workout. I allow myself one day a week where I eat what I fancy if I'm eating out etc. and I have one luxury a day so I don't feel deprived but stick to my calorie goal which is 1350. But I'm usually under 1200. Try taking one day at a time. Maybe walk ten minutes. You'll find it peaceful hopefully. It's great your a gym member. Go use the treadmill listen to music. If the gym intimidates you it does me walk around your neighbourhood. Do you have a dog? I do I walked her for an hour twice a day in the beginning. Benefited us both. The endorphins from exercise will give you energy and make you feel good. I can pm you a bit of my food diary to give you some ideas. If that'll help. Drink lots of water too I try for 3L a day and watch your sodium levels. If I eat salty food my weight always goes up. Most importantly don't give up. Or feel defeated. You CAN do this. You deserve to be happy. If I can help or support you in any way let me know. ????hugs -
JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
Zingythingy replied to sprinkle715's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you patiently I've slowed right down weight loss wise. This last 10 lbs is going to be tough. But as the saying goes. "If it doesn't challenge you it doesn't change you" I'm having to eat super carefully and low in calories and I'm working out 150 mins a day 6x a week. -
JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
Zingythingy replied to sprinkle715's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey July banders. Like mammajamma I can't believe it's nearly a year. Such a life changing experience. It shows me I had no life to speak of before. So I'm down 165lb. 10 to goal. I'm training for a time trial race on my bike. And an iron woman before I'm 40. 2 yrs to go. I have a part time job as a carer. And couldn't be happier. I've been extremely lucky I had no health issues hampering my efforts. I can take care of all my own hygiene and wipe my own bottom. ( tmi but it was a problem) I can run a 9 minute mile when before I could hardly walk. There are downsides however to such a speedy weightloss. Loose skin. No breasts anymore. But I'll live with that. No matter what your loss is it's a massive success. Carry on being fabulous. Once again thanks mammajamma. I'm very flattered. ???? -
Banded 2/2013, lost 85lbs, Help needed to stay on track!

Secret bander my problems are fried foods and bread. And eating too fast. -
Hi there, congratulations on your phenomenal weightloss. Like you I've lost over 150lb in less than a year. I've 30 to go. I'm having a lot of skin removal work done. I'm having a fleur de lys TT and breast lift with possibly under muscle implants. I'm having my arms done and a thigh lift. Sagging everywhere. My surgeon said I could have the work done now but might have to have it tweaked again if I continued to lose weight. So I'm going to get to goal first. I'm booked for my TT in July 2014. Just need to lose my last 30 lbs. Really excited.

I totally feel the same as you. Thank you for posting. I feel quite tearful as I write this. Knowing I'm not alone in how I feel is such a relief. I'm 130 down about 40 to go. I've just been approved for a TT and breast lift. Should be really focused motivated but I'm not ????. The gym for me is the easy bit but food is a HORRENDOUS battle daily. And like you if I eat badly I vomit. Not something that's happened frequently but thought best to try to nip it in the bud before it gets worse. Hoping talking about it helps. -
Hi there I've not been on this site in quite some time.. Apologies... I was doing fabulously. I'm nearly 8 months post surgery and 130 lb down. From 350 -220. But all of a sudden I'm really struggling and miserable. I love being thinner healthier fitter but I can't stop eating junk. Crisps chocolate peanuts. I'm only 40 ish lbs from goal but my weight is going up slightly then down never under 220????. I'm not actually hungry it's all in my head but I just can't silence it. I'm booked for a TT and breast lift later this year and that doesn't feel like enough of a motivator. I work out 6 days a week in the gym for at least 90 minutes. So luckily my night time binging hasn't reflected too seriously on the scales. Your so not alone in this. My band is pretty full too so that's not my reason at all.. Even though my portion sizes are pretty large even now. I vowed to take one day at a time junk free through march and hope to start losing again. Try drinking more too.
-
I'm having a fleur de lys TT later this year.. I'm scared of clots and necrosis, but I'd rather risk it than have my belly slap my legs cycling for another 40 yrs. clothes don't sit right either.. Good luck. Xx

choosing not to have extra skin remove?
Zingythingy replied to Madelyne Bonthron's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm booked for a fleur de lys tummy tuck and breast uplift later this yr. I've lost 130lb in 8 months. About 40-50lb to go. I don't need the skin to remind me I've stretch marks and all sorts of other reminders. Pictures of myself naked at 350lb that's enough for me -
Firstly I'm really pleased you were out having a nice time.. And I've no doubt your looking slimmer and very beautiful.. Your right she should have stopped at how well your looking.. But her snide comment reflects more on her than you. sounds like she's been bitten by the jealous green eyed monster because your evolving into fabulousness and she's static. Ignore her. You rock!!!

Ok my band is a 14. I have 9/5 cc's at the moment. I've been like the hungry hippo game this past few wks. I'm going for a fill tomorrow. Very nervous that the restriction lasts more than a week or so.. Fingers crossed. -

Gastric or LapBand?
Zingythingy replied to hayleylamas's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hi there I'm frances. I considered like you the bypass and the band. I opted for the band in the end. I was concerned about hair loss and problems with Vitamin deficiencies. I have pernicious anaemia (I don't absorb b vitamins) and other Vitamins are slow on the uptake.. I had 170llbs to lose. As of today I've lost 90llbs. My operation was july the 3rd. Its not a miracle cure but its a fabulous tool to help you if you commit yourself to a healthier lifestyle. I can't advice you one way or the other.. My only opinion is that the bypass is permanent I believe so if you have problems there's no options. My band has given me my life back. I could hardly walk, needed help washing and couldn't wipe myself properly after going to the bathroom.. I was a prisoner in my own body.. Now I'm free. It may take longer with the band but I'm a huge fan of my little silicone friend.. Good luck with your decision. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -

is 2 weeks long enough to wait to ask for another fill?
Zingythingy replied to intelirish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think she was refering to just the average joe trying to do their own. I'm sure a nurse would have more hope than me at success..if I was to try. (I won't I hate needles) Apparently it can introduce infection damage your port, pipe work. If you do it yourself there's no warranty on your band either. Not to mention any internal damage you might cause if its too tight. Just my opinion but its lunacy. I can see the desire to do it. But I'm sure they set the rules for good reason.. Zingythingy replied to intelirish's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Its really frustrating the waiting to get to a level of restriction that suits you. but its vital really, it needs to be gradual. As for doing the fills yourself..its a big problem in the uk people filing their own bands and causing problems for themselves. I don't fancy that at all.. Sent from my GT-S5830 using LapBandTalk -
Hi everyone, havent posted properly in a while..apologies life has been very busy. I've been banded since july all going well.. I am plagued by bad breath I mean atrocious!!! Got mouthwash no good.
