Does anyone have a picture of what a normal portion size is and what a sleever eats? I'm wondering how much smaller are our meals versus an actual portion size.

My heaviest was 320 my starting weight was 315. I am now hovering between 168-174 pounds. I am 5'9".How long ago was your surgery?

Okay experiment over and it is not tropical.... I have passionfruit you can definitely do that but honestly I just like took sip out of the bottle before hand and small taste okay but it's not then I could drink the whole 20 ounces of it... So I did like three quarters of the bottle and maybe a cup and a half iceI and hit blend... I honestly think it change the taste and made it tastes a lot worse and made it very Foamy... But it is still a very thin liquids so I don't know why you couldn't other than just adds volume to it and there's already so much you have to drink to get that Protein and you're just adding to it......idk... Thanks for the science project idea....That stinks . So I better get out my shot glasses so I can take small amounts at a time. Ugh

Has anyone tried blending this with ice to make more of a slushie?

I got my surgery moved to the 9th! Much better for my kids schedule, so excited that I'm officially less than 2 weeks away.

Weight watchers' date=' medifast, green tea, 17 day diet, herbal life, my latest diets have been HCG injections I bought online from India ( I got desperate this year) and this last obsession was with beach bodies shakeology.... Which is damn expensive for a shake..... So I see my doctor Friday to start this process.... She recommended it through email..... Very nervous!!!!![/quote']So you are just beginning the process?

Isopure is the best Protein you can take in. It will help with your healing and its just not that bad!
Great luck to you! The first couple weeks are not what I would say fun' date=' but it gets so much better! And, oh my, life is great after about a month![/quote']
Thank you! I'm going to give that a try I think. I can not stand powder but if I can sip small amounts of something the consistency as Water I may fair well. Where do you purchase yours?
-
I just sucked it up and learned how to like grape Isopure. One bottle a day' date=' one sip at a time and BAM! 40 grams of high quality Protein. Made getting the rest much easier. It's worth the sacrifice. You won't have to do it for long.
Good luck![/quote']
Is this acceptable Protein for weeks post op?

That is wonderful, glad to hear you're doing well. Keep us posted.

Thanks for responding guys and letting me know what you can have. I am going through some mental hurdles right now trying to decide if this decision was the best decision of my life or the absolute worst. It does seem to get easier daily though. This is where the rubber meets the road though with me. I am 2 weeks and 1 day out. By now' date=' if I were on a diet and not sleeved it would have flown out the window by now and I'd have a heap of McDonalds sitting in front of me as I typed this. But I can't now, this is my path. In a way I am mourning my old self but on the flipside to that coin, that person was literally killing me.So thank you for sharing, it does get better.[/quote']
I'm with you, although I haven't had surgery yet. I hope to eventually be able to eat in moderation.

I too just wore the hospital gown for the enritre 48 hrs. I had an iv most of the time and its a pain for the nurse to string it thru the sleeve of ur own clothes. I forgot I was evn having tummy surgery and brought jeans to go home in. Thankfully they were jeans that were a little loose. But I should've brought something stretchierI just don't want my junk hanging out. Lol

So funny the stupid things we did to lose weight. Lol

What was the worst diet you ever tried?
For me it would be using Ali and doing the Herbal life diet.

There is Always going to be an excuse not to do it. I have 4 children all in travel sports and could use them as one every time. If you feel that the surgery is going to change your life for the better, then take the leap. But it sounds like you want people to say wait. So if there really is all that conflict and you know your insurance is going to cover it come the new year, then by all means wait. But what if you really do want the surgery and wait for all the other little things to work out and your insurance changes and you will no longer have the surgery covered?
That to me would be worse case scenario.

Have you called your insurance to verify what they need for approval? Or have you spoken with the surgeons office and asked what's required?
-
My office submitted on Thursday and I was approved by Monday morning. All they needed was the Psyc eval to approve. Good luck!

Spent the weekend at a friend's 50th birthday celebration in New Orleans! What fun! Mostly I shopped.Looking at pictures posted on FB' date=' I saw this woman in some of the group shots and asked "who's that?" Oh my, it was me! And I look happy and comfortable, instead of awkward and out of place. Here's a new shot and and old pic.

Officially finished all my testing today. The ABG blood test was not that bad. I am a baby when it comes to needles and while it did hurt, it's nothing to worry about. My surgery is Oct 9th!!!
